* LivingInAVan: Fred and Nova are now living in the Mystery Machine following him leaving his house behind.

Radley Crown was a security guard, who with his dog Reggie, thwarted a break-in by a giant robot but Reggie was left for all but dead. Dr. Benton Quest offers to help the situation. Five years later, the same robot is seen breaking into companies and tapping into their computer databases, only to be pursued by the Blue Falcon (Crown) and Dynomutt (Reggie refurbished as a cyborg dog). The Blue Falcon forms an uneasy alliance with Scooby and the gang in tracking the robot, which leads them to Destroido where the robot takes Blue Falcon and (mistakenly) Scooby Doo to its master--''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest'' villain Dr. Zin, who is looking for the Quest Power-X source (it's what is powering Dynomutt) to be the heart of his master creation.

* AntiVillain: Dr. Zin only wants the Quest Power-X source to save his daughter. ... who's only in danger because he used her as a guinea-pig for his experiments.
* AscendedFanboy: Shaggy and Scooby are ecstatic over getting to work with Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt.

* {{Crossover}}: Another Creator/HannaBarbera Crossover. This time with ''WesternAnimation/DynomuttDogWonder'' and ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest''.

* {{Expy}}: Blue Falcon was already an expy of Franchise/{{Batman}}, but now he has a bulkier build, a huskier voice and more of predisposition towards anger and violence, much more akin to Batman from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns''.

** Dr. Zin is an Asian mastermind assisted by his daughter, a British henchman and a vast criminal network, calling to mind Rhas Al’Ghul.
* {{Filler}}: The whole episode is basically played for laughs and has no immediate effect on the rest of the series and can easily be skipped when binge-watching.
* GoodCopBadCop: Fred questions Mr. E about the situation, but this goes nowhere. Blue Falcon gets in on it by manhandling Mr. E and telling Dyno-Mutt to break out the dental instruments.

* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: Blue Falcon tells Mr. E they can do this the easy way or the hard way, making it clear which way he prefers. Dyno-Mutt immediately breaks out the dental instruments when asked.

** Shaggy looks at the camera and yells "Scooby Doo! Where Are You?!", which Matthew Lillard had done previously in the live action Scooby Doo Movie which itself was a reference to the show's original title.
** Scooby and Dyno-Mutt low-five each other the exact same way that Scooby and Scooby-Dum do in the intro to ''WesternAnimation/TheScoobyDooShow''.
