* INeedAFreakingDrink: Rick takes down the alien scammers with seeming ease; however his final appearance in the episode shows him drunker than usual and threatening Morty to make sure he's not still in a simulation, implying the experience affected him more than he let on.

* FailedASpotCheck: Jerry is stupidly gullible enough to not even notice the low-performance simulation trapping him is fishy at all and simply goes on believing he has the best day of his life.

* ObviousBeta: The simulated world has quite the number of bugs in it, to say the least.

* AluminumChristmasTrees: Cesium (and other metals of its type, like the more common lithium, sodium, or potassium) and water do combust when mixed, though certainly not as explosively as the episode would imply. Maybe the plutonic quarks serve as an amplifier.

* KickTheDog: Jerry attempts to do pitch his advertisement in real life and gets fired for it being so terrible. When he points out that it was tested from the simulation during the episode, the higher-ups retorted that the simulation was terrible. And when he leaves...

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: After everything the Zigerians put Rick through he manages to put one over on them simply by lying about the formula for concentrated dark matter, causing the Zigerians to blow themselves up. Considering they tried to "mindfuck" Rick by replicating his entire town as well as his grandson's genitalia there was no way Rick would give them what they want.

* AbsenteeActor: Summer and Beth do not appear in the episode, although a hologram of Beth does.

He knew that if Morty mixed the ingredients together just as he said, then he would have blown himself up, and that the aliens were only trying to get the recipe the whole time.

* KickTheDog: Jerry attempts to do pitch his advertisement in real life and gets fired for it being so terrible. When he points out that it was test from the simulation during the episode, the higher-ups retorted that the simulation was terrible. And when he leaves...

* MoonLandingHoax: While being chased by the baddies, Rick and Morty come across setting depicting the moon landing.

* LotusEaterMachine: Rick and Jerry get stuck in a simulation by aliens, which turns out to be three simulations in one.

* HereWeGoAgain: The scammers have been abducting Rick and trying to get his recipe for concentrated dark matter for years. Rick is so used to it, it doesn't even faze him.

* OutGambitted: Rick pulls this off in a spectacular fashion against the aliens.

* NakedPeopleAreFunny: Rick figures out that he and Morty are being monitored by the aliens. Said aliens also happen to be really uncomfortable with nudity, so in order to have some privacy, well, do the math.

* JustAsPlanned: The scammer leader says exactly this after Rick and Morty get past the first simulation.
