Laserblast was featured on [=MST3K=] in what would be the last episode of its final season on Creator/ComedyCentral (before moving to the CreatorSyfy Sci-Fi Channel). As such, the [=MST3K=] episode itself was something of a series finale as the staff wasn't sure it would be saved from cancellation. It also marked the final episode with Trace Beaulieu, who portrayed both longtime nemesis Dr. Forrester and the voice of Crow T. Robot.

* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: The [=MST3K=] crew's summary of the episode claims that while shutting down operations on Deep 13, Dr. Forrester tells the SOL crew that the satellite will drift through space and probably fall into a black hole, while in the actual episode, he instead tells them that its orbit will decay in two hours, and Mike and the bots will die in a crash landing. Servo then makes the satellite drift into space himself, and that's the last the SOL crew hears from Forrester. The mistake is likely related to the staff having written the Season 7 summaries many years after the broadcast and trying to do them from memory, as opposed to the other summaries which were written during the show's production.

!!The Segments:

* Crow and Servo start up today's episode by introducing the "beyond thunderdome" zinger, as a bound and gagged Mike is unable to stop them.

* Dr. Forrester announces to the Mike and the Bots that because of cut funding he disconnects the SOL from Deep 13. While he and Pearl pack up their stuff, the SOL starts drifting away to deep space.

* Crow brings along a MONAD satellite to the bridge, with Mike and Servo joining in with their "imperfect" ribbing.

* After drifting through space, the SOL is suddenly stopped by a field of Starbabies. One of them gets stuck on the ship, forcing Mike and the bots to begin a celestial diaper change.

* As the SOL moves towards a black hole, Mike, dressed up as Captain Janeway, steers the ship back course.

* The SOL finally stops its journey at the edge of the universe, leaving Mike and the Bots to ascend as points of pure energy. Back in Deep 13, Dr. Forrester finds himself aging rapidly, from bed ridden with the monolithic videotape, to being reborn as a star child. All of this makes Pearl happy, much to his chagrin.
