Added DiffLines:
* {{Retcon}}: The first of Spike's photos is young Twilight with Spike as a baby after he hatched during her entrance exam. If noticed, Twilight appears to be her present age, despite her being a filly when Spike hatched. Also, the background is that of the library, when that was ''long'' before she moved to Ponyville.

* FantasticRacism: Dragons don't think much of ponies. They call ''Princess Celestia'' a "namby pamby pony princess". Interristingly, the ponies don't have a high opinion about dragons neither.

This is the basic plot of the Generation 1 ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyAndFriends'' episode "Spike's Search." It even had a baby bird in Weston the eagle.

Not really. The phoenix fire attack didn't do anything except some cosmetic damage, while the only thing that even slowed the dragons down was the bright light.
* KryptoniteFactor : This episode confirms that magic can hurt dragons despite their tough scales; the phoenixes' fire can blind and hurt them, while normal fire doesn't affect them at all. In several episodes it's shown that Spike can be affected by Twilight's spells (one occasion he's singed by the teleport spells), so it's logical a magical attack is effective against a dragon even if it's fire-related.

** The phoenixes too. Birds made of fire that can scorch a dragon (to put that in context, ''lava'' is a swimming pool to dragons) and can summon a blinding light source out of nowhere. No wonder the teenage dragons needed someone to lure the parents away before raiding the nest.
