* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Marinette, Nino, Alya, Rose, and Kim are arguing about whether they should stop Adrien from leaving Paris:
** Marinette tells them that Adrien absolutely ''hates'' his life as a model, and doesn't want to go on a month-long tour around the world, but since he can't stand up to his father the group need to help him. Unfortunately, Adrien being a StepfordSmiler means that he never shared any of this with his other friends, so they have no reason to believe that he doesn't want to go on an awesome trip like that. Furthermore, Marinette's long-standing rivalry with Lila and her ClingyJealousGirl behavior towards Adrien makes the others think that Mari's just jealous -- which, to be fair to them, ''was'' Marinette's motive until Adrien confided in her (though she wasn't trying to stop him from leaving before - she was only trying to confess before he left).
** Nino makes a valid point that a trip around the world is the best thing that could have happened to Adrien, who is basically imprisoned inside his GildedCage of a home, and who has no personal freedom whatsoever. And Adrien never told him, his BFF, that he's not happy with his life; as Kim puts it, "[[IJustWantToBeSpecial Everybody wants to be a model.]]"
** Then again, Marinette told her friends that Adrien outright ''told'' her that he was miserable. One would think that her friends would want to check with Adrien about it. It's one thing for Marinette to not want Adrien to leave, and another thing entirely to say that Adrien told her something directly.

* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: The average akuma of the day, while harrowing, are ''very'' easily noticeable and can be quickly defeated by Ladybug and Cat Noir on a daily basis. Risk, on the other hand, is a frog-loving boy who casually rides his bicycle while encouraging everyone to take risks...which is what makes him so dangerous as no one, not even our two heroes, noticed that he's been akumatized due to bearing a less then recognizable appearance when Shadow Moth akumatized him and has already influenced everyone in Paris into becoming more bolder in their daily lives. And that ''includes'' the Miraculous duo themselves.

* ManipulativeBastard: Gabriel as usual, but he takes it to a new level. This time he has a new goal in mind, forcing Ladybug to make a mistake that he can take advantage of. So rather than go through the normal MonsterOfTheWeek formula by selecting a victim at random and giving them a power they want, he creates Risk by specifically searching for a victim whom he can give the power of [[LossofInhibitions suppressing the sense of caution and concern]] of everyone in the city in order to force everyone, including Ladybug, to be impulsive and careless. * FakinMacGuffin: Gabriel keeps fake Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses in his hidden safe for... some reason. Félix manages to break in and steal them, believing them to be the real ones and therefore proof Gabriel is Shadow Moth ([[RightForTheWrongReasons which he is]]).

* ShoutOut: Marinette and Alya go to the cinema to watch ''[[Film/AvengersEndgame United HeroeZ: The Final End Fight]]''.

* AvoidThisAreaEffect: When Shadow Moth is feeling around for a potential victim, Mr. Ramier can be head complaining about the "anti-pigeon spikes" that have recently been added to benches.

* AvoidThisAreaEffect: Mr. Ramier can be heard saying that even benches have anti-pigeon spikes now too while Shadow Moth got inspiration for a new plan to defeat Ladybug.

* {{Cliffhanger}}: Shadow Moth begins the next phase of his scheme by summoning the behemoth Strike Back to terrorize the city. Meanwhile, Marinette gets the big idea of using the Horse Miraculous to bring "Adrien" back to Paris despite Tikki's protests. And the last scene has Adrien returning home to find Félix's spy monocle and the sentimonster wreaking havoc.

* TheReveal: While looking for a perfect victim for his risk taking scheme, we see how Shadow Moth is able to telepathically identify people's emotions, and that he's able to choose someone experiencing a specific emotion to target with his akumas.
* RunningGag: When Gabriel searches for the right akumatization victim, naturally one of the potential targets he senses is [[RecurringBoss Mr. Ramier]].
* ShoutOut: Marinette and Alya go to the cinema to watch [[Film/AvengersEndgame "United Heroez: The Final End Fight"]].

* WorldTour: Gabriel's newest commercial will involve Adrien and Lila traveling the world for photo sessions. While his school friends are ecstatic that their once imprisoned friend is going to see the world, Adrien hates it because he's being forced to do a month long project and far away from his friends and loved ones.

* TheUnfought: Risk is one of the very few villains that Gabriel didn't create for the purpose of defeating Ladybug and Cat Noir. As result, the heroes don't even know about his existence, let alone fight him.
