* BlatantLies: Momochi tells Fujiko the made-up reason he wanted to kill his own apprentice: A super computer, created by a shady organization, dictated that the two of the most dangerous assassins of the Underworld that needed to be eliminated were Lupin III and Goemon Ishikawa XIII. Momochi was coerced into collaborating with this organization and kill his pupil. Goemon[[note]]Hiding underneath the floor with his sword pointing up at Momochi[[/note]] was NOT buying it.

The third episode of the first TV anime adaptation.
Lupin and Jigen witness a demonstration of Goemon's razor-sharp samurai sword, said to be forged from legendary swords like Kotetsu, Yoshikane and Masamune. However, Goemon plans to use the sword to assassinate Lupin. After Lupin and Jigen narrowly escape with their lives, they learn that Momochi, the legendary "Reaper of Iga" who has killed over 5,000 people in his 50-year-long career, was Goemon's teacher and ordered the assassination on him. And when Fujiko (Goemon's "girlfriend" in this episode) starts to stir things up even more...
