Nate's story starts with him speaking to Coswell. Everyone else remembers Coswell as a tough, wary, skilled security expert, but he's actually a shy, bumbling guy who's pretty sweet. Nate chats with him, as he's there to investigate the recent thefts from the museum. He tells Coswell that IYS most likely will not insure the dagger. Coswell never actually caught on to Sophie's cons, he just thought she was pretty and wanted to ask her out. In reality, the drink Sophie spiked found its way to Eliot, not Hardison, and it was the glass of wine that he accidentally spilt on her. Coswell meets "Dr. Ipcress" but can't work up his courage to talk to her, and leaves. He tells the guards to find her, but while the team wrongly remembered it as him knowing she was a fake, in reality, he wanted to give her some roses at it's her last day working. (He ends up giving them to Nate.) He even asks Eliot but fails to notice that he's a fake guard. He then meets Hardison, disguised as a worker, and sobs about how he missed his chance to confess his love to Ipcress. He notices the guard Eliot mugged, but gets pushed inside by Hardison. Inside the storage room, he tells the guard that he'll get them out. He opens Parker's bag, filled with rappelling rope, assumes it's the janitor's stuff and uses it to climb inside the air vent. He bumps into Parker, who punches him in the face. The dagger drops down the shaft… and falls out of a ceiling vent, directly into Nate's hand.

* UnreliableNarrator: All over the place! Each one is more unreliable than the last it seems, except for Nate...we think. Perhaps the best part is that each of the Team, when they had ''no idea'' that everyone else was there, perceived their future teammates as magnificent; Eliot's "Dr. Wes Abernathy" (played by Riley Smith) was soft-spoken and charming even to Sophie's trained eye. Hardison's "Minister Robert Bioko" (played by Juan Canopii) was powerfully built and intimidating even to ''Eliot.'' And the socially-awkward Parker blended in so well that she was ''invisible'' to all of them save Nate.

accurate.
***10% of the remainder is implied to be his view of Coswell as a lovestruck fool who has ''absolutely no idea'' that four of the best thieves in the world are playing [[GambitPileup bumper-car burglary]] in his museum - or that one of the museum patrons is selling artifacts, replacing them with fakes, then declaring them stolen; retaliation for Sophie believing that Coswell, "[[GreenEyedMonster ...could be even smarter than Nate]]." The other 10% is most likely how ''he'', Nathan Ford, knew ''exactly'' what was going down the entire time, '''but failed to finger any of the four at the time!''' He just pieced together the four stories to figure out who did what when.
* UnrequitedLove: Coswell for Sophie. It's implied that Nate made that up out of whole cloth in retaliation for Sophie believing Coswell was smarter than Nate.

We open with Hardison, Sophie and Eliot, who are all arguing in the bar. Nate and Parker walk in, and he asks them rather pointedly why they're sitting around arguing instead of investigating Moreau. Sophie plays them a recording, which tells them about an artefact called the Dagger of Aqu'abi. This dagger was stolen from the Boston Museum of Art and Antiquities five years ago, but has been returned and is now on display again. However, Hardison, Sophie and Eliot all claim to be the original thief. Sophie suggests that each of them tells their story in turn, and Nate reluctantly agrees.

Sophie has two identities for this con, having managed to successfully work two identities for six months. The first is the Duchess of Barrington-Highsworth, a patron of the arts who donated artwork to gain admission. She meets the current custodian of the dagger, Edgar Gladstone, who flirts with her, but she's careful to avoid the skilled and wary head of museum security, Coswell. She acquires a drink, spikes it and asks a waitress to give it to Zimbabwe's art minister, Robert Bioko. Bioko is a douchebag who is very allergic to shrimp, but while she waits, she bumps into a surgeon, Dr Wes Abernathy, and flirts with him. Bioko starts choking and Gladstone checks on him. Sophie helpfully tells him that the minister is allergic to shrimp, and as a doctor, Abernathy helps him out. Distraction achieved, Sophie slips into the shipping and storage part of the museum, using Gladstone's key card. Her other identity for this con is Dr Karen Ipcress, who works in the restoration department. Coswell suspiciously asks about her, and makes the connection that she and the Duchess look weirdly alike. Sophie overhears Coswell, realises that she's screwed and switches the shipping details on the dagger's crate so it will go to her safe-house in London. It worked beautifully, but when she received the crate, there was no dagger inside.

Sophie is indignantly annoyed, and retells her story so that Eliot has a hillbilly's accent. Eliot tells her that she already told her story and gets back to it.

Sophie blames Eliot, who maintains that he never actually acquired the dagger. In the end, since Gutman had a lot of enemies, he was arrested for racketeering a couple of weeks later, and Eliot was fine. Hardison then steps up to tell his story. Nate is surprised, since simple theft isn't Hardison's thing, but Hardison explains that the museum had installed a new security system called Tanuki. At the time, the first person to hack it would become a legend, so Hardison decided to be that person. But, he'd need proof, he decided to steal the dagger.

Hardison enters the museum disguised as Minister Robert Bioko, having hacked the invite list and grabbed the identity of a random guest. As he works on the system, he decides to have some fun- drinks some wine, flirts with some ladies, and spying on Eliot and Sophie getting fresh with each other. Once a power surge occurs (signalling that the system's reset), he fakes a choking fit as a distraction. Gladstone checks on him as Hardison says he needs to go to the first-aid room, but Sophie calls attention to his allergy. This Sophie is using a Scottish accent, and the present Sophie is pissed.

-->'''Sophie:''' You really can't tell? Americans! [[LampshadeHanging Every accent sounds the same to you]]. *gives up* Go on. I... I sound like one of the dwarves in ''LordOfTheRings'', but please continue.

As Hardison was confused at his fake identity's allergy, Eliot plays the overenthusiastic doctor, who nearly performs the tracheotomy with a huge knife. Hardison quickly comes up with a plan- pretend his breath mints are anti-allergy pills. Eliot gets him to the first-aid room, but Hardison [[CrossesTheLineTwice adds that Eliot acts like a slasher killer, holding a knife and telling him not to leave]] as he exits. Once he leaves, Hardison gets into a nearby computer and hacks the system to make sure that the dagger stays in the museum instead of leaving it. He disguises himself as a security guard and tries to hack the door when Coswell shows up. Suddenly, the guard that Eliot took down exits the janitor's room and Coswell checks on him. With no other choice, he pushes both men back inside, steals Coswell's radio and locks the door. While he manages to enter the Shipping department, he opens one of the vaults and holds the dagger...

Hardison laughs at them, claiming that he beat both Sophie and Eliot. He says that nothing else matters, and Nate picks up on that and asks him why he says that. Hardison eventually admits that when he opened the vault, nothing was inside. Nate says that neither Hardison, Sophie or Eliot has it… and turns to Parker, who indignantly points out that, you know, ''she's a thief.''

Everyone keeps arguing, believing that somebody lied. Parker suddenly realizes Nate's expression and immediately questions him if he knew something. Nate's story starts with him speaking to Coswell. Everyone else remembers Coswell as a tough, wary, skilled security expert, but he's actually a shy, bumbling guy who's pretty sweet. Nate chats with him, as he's there to investigate the recent thefts from the museum. He tells Coswell that I.Y.S. most likely will not insure the dagger. Coswell never actually caught on to Sophie's cons, he just thought she was pretty and wanted to ask her out. In reality, the drink Sophie spiked found its way to Eliot, not Hardison, and it was the glass of wine that he accidentally spilt on her. Coswell meets 'Dr Ipcress' but can't work up his courage to talk to her, and leaves. He opens Parker's bag, but assumes it's the janitor's stuff and uses it to climb inside the air vent. He bumps into Parker, who punches him in the face. The dagger drops down the shaft… and falls out of a ceiling vent, directly into Nate's hand.

Back at the museum gallery, Gladstone is yelling at Coswell for screwing it up and letting Parker get away, saying it's his worst loss ever. Nate walks in with the dagger… and snaps it in half. Nate explains that he's here to figure out why Gladstone has had so many expensive items stolen that I.Y.S. had insured. He realizes that Gladstone was selling the originals on the black market, while putting the fakes on display and staging a public theft to get the insurance using the double-dipping scam. Gladstone begs him not to tell anyone or he'll be in ruins. Nate then tells him to pay back the settlements of the previous items and since he didn't sell the dagger yet he asks him to give it to his company as an asset. He also wants the dealer he'd hired to stage the fake theft. Nate then announces to them they should keep this a secret and as of this moment the Dagger of Aqu'abi has officially been stolen.

The team is a bit sad that after all they did, none of them got it. Sophie asks about the dealer, and we get a flashback: the dealer Gladstone used was Gutman, who Nate had arrested. Eliot's quite surprised. Hardison's depressed that they all did so much work for nothing, but Nate reminds them that it's easy to forget why they stopped working solo and now work as a team, and turns the sound on the TV back up. It's showing an interview with a man called Nigel Hayton, the C.E.O. of Baron Oil, an oil company who spilled tons of oil over American waters. Hayton is a quintessential bastard, down to his posh accent, use of the phrase 'the little people' and reassuring the public that he cares, as does his company. The team leaves the bar in a hurry claiming to get it first, leaving Nate behind. Nate eventually follows after as the episode ends.

Skip to the part where Bioko is choking: Sophie urges Eliot to save him, and Eliot obliges. Eliot would have performed an impromptu tracheotomy, but the minister has some pills that miraculously heal him. Eliot uses him as an excuse to get further inside the museum- specifically, he leaves the minister at the first-aid station. After that, he sneaks into the basement, knocks out a security guard and steals his uniform. He's confronted by Coswell, bluffs his way past, and ends up working with the crew doing the shipping. He disguises himself appropriately, opens the dagger's crate and finds a mug...

Nate finally tells them what happened to the dagger...

The team unanimously go out to steal the dagger from him, and the episode ends.

Sophie has two identities for this con, having managed to successfully live as two people for six months. Bioko is very allergic to shrimp, but while she waits, she bumps into a surgeon, Dr Wes Abernathy, and flirts with him. Bioko starts choking and Gladstone checks on him. Sophie helpfully tells him that the minister is allergic to shrimp, and as a doctor, and Abernathy helps him out. It worked beautifully, but when she received the crate the dagger was not inside.

Eliot is doing what he normally does, i.e. beating crap out of some mooks, when he gets a call from a man named Gutman. Gutman is rather annoyed that Eliot never retrieved the sapphire monkey from North Korea, so he offers the hitter a trade: If Eliot will retrieve the dagger, then Gutman will consider the debt repaid and he will stop sending men after Eliot until one of them gets lucky.. So on the night in question, Eliot manages to steal the real doctor's identity and get into the party. He bumps into Sophie, but instead of her normal British accent, she has a Cockney accent.

Skip to the part where Bioko is choking: Sophie pushes Eliot to save him, and Eliot obliges. Eliot would have performed an impromptu tracheotomy, but the minister has some pills. Sophie blames Eliot, who maintains that he never actually acquired the dagger. In the end, since Gutman had a lot of enemies, he was arrested for racketeering a couple of weeks later, and Eliot was fine. Hardison then steps up to tell his story. Nate is surprised, since simple theft isn't Hardison's thing, but Hardison explains that at the time, the museum had installed a new security system called Tanuki. At the time, the first person to hack it would become a legend, so Hardison decided to be that person. But to serve as proof, he decided to steal the dagger.

Hardison enters the museum disguised as Minister Robert Bioko, having hacked the invite list and grabbed the identity of a random guest. As he works on the system, he decides to have some fun, drinks some wine, flirts with some ladies. She's serving drinks, but doing a terrible job. Coswell points out that she needs to do her job better, and asks for her name- which she can't give him, since she 'lost' her name tag. Once she realizes someone hacked into the security system, the story about Hardison choking is much the same and she's the one who gives the huge knife to Eliot. She manages to sneak into the storage room but the door is closed, so she decides to use the air duct to enter the shipping department. She hides under the table, and when Coswell accidentally knocks a mug off of it, she catches it so it can't break. Once they leave, she manages to steal the dagger, does a bit of a victory dance and leaves through the air ducts. Unfortunately, on the way through the ducts, she realises that her bag got switched with Sophie's. Coswell suddenly appears and they have a short fight, but the dagger falls from Parker's grip, down the duct...

Coswell meets 'Dr Ipcress' but can't work up his courage, and leaves. He tells the guards to find her, but while the team wrongly remembered it as him knowing she was a fake, in reality, he wanted to give her some roses at it's her last day working. He even asks Eliot but fails to notice that he's a fake guard. He then meets Hardison, disguised as a worker, and sobs about how he missed his chance to confess his love to Ipcress. He then notices the guard Eliot mugged, but gets pushed inside by Hardison. Inside the storage room, he tells the guard that he'll get them out. He opens Parker's bag, but assumes it's the janitor's stuff and uses it to climb inside the air vent. He bumps into Parker, who punches him in the face. The dagger drops down the shaft… and falls out of a ceiling vent, directly into Nate's hand.

She has two identities for this con and she enters the gallery as duchess of Barrington-Highsworth. She managed to enter by donating artwork (presumably stolen) to enter. She met up with Edgar Gladstone, owner of the dagger and has a bit of crush on her. But she has to be careful of the head of the museum security, Coswell. go, saying it's the worst loss ever. Just as Nate enters , they notice he has the dagger but much to their shock, he snaps the dagger in half. Coswell is stunned that it wasn't suppose to do that. Nate explains that he's here to figure out why he has so many expensive items stolen that I.Y.S has to pay them. He realize that he sells the originals at the black market while the fakes on display and staged a public theft to get the insurance using the double-dipping scam. Gladstone begs not to tell anyone or he'll be in ruins. Nate then tells him to pay back the settlements of the previous items and since he didn't sell the dagger yet he ask him to give it to his company as an asset. He also wants the dealer he'd hire to stage the fake thefts. Nate then announce to them they should keep this a secret and the Dagger of Aqu'Abi has been stolen.

The team is a bit sad none of them get it which it reveals that the dealer happens to be Gutman, the one that Eliot hires him, realize that Nate helps him take down Gutman. Hardison thinks they did that all for nothing but Nate reminds them that it's easy to forget why they stop working solo and work as a team. He then plays the TV screen showing that the dagger has been owned by Nigel Hayton, C.E.O. of Baron Oil, who was responsible for the oil spill in the American waters. Realizing that's their next con, everyone even Nate decides to rush outside to con him.

In his version (or the true story) what they didn't know that Coswell is wearing glasses and bit incompetent of his surrounding. Nate was with him chatting as he's there to investigate his recent theft and I.Y.S refuse to pay the dagger. The team didn't realize that Coswell loves pretty woman and intend to ask Sophie ( as the Duchess ) on a date. The same thing happens when he meets with Dr. Ipcress but unable to confess his love to her, he leaves while muttering him being stupid. The part where Coswell tell the guards to find her is that he's heartbroken if she leaves as today's her last day and want to gives her a package of roses to her. He even ask Eliot but fail to notice him as a fake guard. He then met with Hardison and sobers about how he miss his chance to confess his love to Ipcress. He then notice the real guard but gets pushed inside by Hardison. Inside the storage room, he talks to the real guard that he'll get him out of this room. He opens Parker's bag but fails to notice and assume it's the janitor's stuff while going inside the air vent. He bumps into Parker but instead ask her nicely even getting punch in the face. The dagger drops to the vent but it drops right above Nate, who happens to look for Coswell.
--------

Everyone in the room was shocked about Nate's story especially it was Parker's fault that Nate has the dagger even realize that Coswell isn't whom they think assume to be. Sophie then ask Nate if his story is true why is it consider stolen.

Hardison laughs at them but Nate catches Hardison's 'nothing else matters' which he fess up that he didn't get the dagger as the vault containing it is empty. Nate then assume that since neither three of them has is...he assume Parker has it. Parker smiles as she tell them she's a theif

--->'''Parker's version of Sophie''': Ah wai'er. I'd very wondering if you could yea un'd my Dingaling! (Parker turns around making face, confused)
--->'''Present Sophie''': I hate you all...

She's serving drinks and even Coswell goes near her asking for her 'missing' name tag. Once she realize someone hacked into the security system, the story about Hardison's chocking is much the same and she's the one who gives the huge knife to Eliot. She manages to sneak into the storage room but the door is closed so she decides to use the air duct to enter the Shipping department. She hides under the table and grabs the cup before it breaks when Coswell yell at the guards after slamming the table. Once they leaves, she manage to steal the dagger and does a bit of victory dance and leaves to the air ducts. But she realize that is not her bag but Sophie's dressing bag and suddenly Coswell appears in the air duct fighting him over the dagger as it slips down the chute.
--------
--------

Everyone argues about the fact that one of them is lying but then Parker realize something and says "Nate!". Nate stands up and tells him that they forgot one thing. Which was the insurance company for the Dagger of Aqu'Abi? Everyone realize it was where Nate works before and Nate mention to them what exactly happen to the dagger.
