* SpannerInTheWorks: After Scorpius agrees to let D'Argo, Chiana and Jool go back to Moya, Commandant Grayza turns up, captures the lot of them and hauls them back to the Command Carrier. Then she informs Scorpius that the Peacekeepers are seeking to form a united alliance against the Scarran threat; not for a potential war but to present a strong front for peace negotiations. Scorpius of course is strongly opposed to this idea and thinks they're just hastening the inevitable conflict.

** The episode opens with Harvey and Crichton is a [[{{Retraux}} scratchy black & white]] American war movie, as they sally forth to take on Scorpius together, with Crichton as a gum chewing SergeantRock bucking up a nervous Private Harvey.

I removed the “Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu” example. This was about Crichton threatening Grayza. However, this trope definition deals with “Insulting a being who is much more powerful than you” and notes, “This rarely ever causes the target any real harm.” Grayza is a mortal woman, quite capable of being killed by the gun Crichton aimed at her. While Grayza may have access to Peacekeeper resources (as did all the show’s major antagonists), she is not herself significantly more powerful than Crichton (indeed she’s physically much weaker than Scorpius, whom Crichton has repeatedly insulted). So I don’t believe this example demonstrates the trope.

* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: Crichton takes aim at Grayza with a pulse pistol to get her to back down. It doesn't work, but she won't forget that he tried.
-->'''Grayza:''' And you should not have pointed a weapon at me.\\
'''Crichton:''' Damn, I gotta stop pointing guns at people.

I removed the “Sadistic Choice” examples. The trope definition explains, “This is a situation in which a character is presented with a choice, any outcome of which causes something bad to happen.” The first example is about how Crichton doesn’t know whether he should sabotage the wormhole project. This is a difficult choice but it’s presented as a choice between “let the Peacekeepers have wormholes and they may end up doing something awful with it” and “don’t let the Peacekeepers have wormholes and the Scarrans may be able to do something awful”. It’s a difficult decision but it’s difficult because he doesn’t know the outcome of either case for sure, not because he knows both will lead to something bad happening and can’t decide between those bad things. The second example details Scorpius’ threat to Earth. However, in this case the choice is between “give Scorpius wormhole technology, with possible awful outcomes, and he won’t attack Earth” and “don’t give Scorpius the technology and, not only may the Scarrans do awful things, but Scorpius may attack Earth”. This again is more a difficult decision. Once again, John doesn’t know the outcome of either decision. It’s basically the same as the first example except that now Scorpius has made one choice a bit worse (assuming John believed he would attack Earth). However, the villain saying “do as I say or something bad will happen” is more an example of a threat than a sadistic choice. For these reasons, I don’t believe the examples demonstrate the trope.

* SadisticChoice: Crichton begins to wonder if he shouldn't sabotage the wormhole project so that the Peacekeepers can keep the Scarrans in check. [[NiceJobFixingItVillain Scorpius' ultimatum makes the choice clear, however.]]
** An even worse one at the end of the episode.
--->'''Scorpius:''' You give me what I want, or I swear [[ForcedToWatch I will keep you alive so that you can witness your homeworld's destruction!]]

I removed the “Nice Job Fixing It Villain” since the trope definition requires that the villain fix a problem the heroes’ had. As the trope definitions says, “this is not villains hurting their own plans”. The example argues that Scorpius threatening earth helped John decide to sabotage the project after previously being undecided. While Scorpius may have helped John to decide, it wasn’t that the heroes were incapable of carrying out their plan due to indecision and Scorpius fixed that. The heroes would have been just as capable of carrying out their plan whether Scorpius threatened earth or not, even if they may have chosen not to (though that seems unlikely). If this trope definition applies to this case then any act which leads the heroes to decide to stop the villain would be included (e.g. Nice Job Fixing it Villain by killing the hero’s father) but I believe that would be far wider than this trope. So I do not believe this example demonstrates the trope.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Crichton was actually conflicted over whether stopping Scorpius's research was the right course after all. At least until Scorpy threatened Earth to add extra incentive to Crichton finishing his work.

* HandshakeOfDoom: The episode kicks off with Crichton and Scorpius shaking hands on a deal: in exchange for his friends being pardoned and granted boons of their choosing, Crichton will help Scorpius unlock the final secrets of wormhole physics (all while planning to sabotage the wormhole project from within). As a result, Crichton is subjected to obstruction, assassination attempts by mutinous crewmembers, interference from Peacekeeper higher-ups, and a good deal of suspicion from Scorpius himself as his patience runs thin. The episode ends with Scorpius finally dropping his Affably Evil demeanour and threatening to destroy Earth if Crichton doesn't cooperate.

Absolutely not. It's made clear that anything she says is just part of her cover. She's working for Scorpius from start to finish.

* ReverseMole: Of a sort, and via DoubleSubversion (or even triple)--Larell first reveals herself to Crais and they immediately surrender to a passionate kiss, after which she confesses that Scorpius expects her to spy on him and report his every move. Crais asks why she told him this, and the implication is that she did it to get him to trust her because she still loves him. Cut to her meeting with Scorpius and Braca and cavalierly revealing that Crais "bought" her confession. ''Then'' cut back to her meeting with Crais again, revealing that while she did hate him for some time after his desertion, this was only to protect herself from the pain of losing him. So it was actually Scorpius she lied to, and she really is secretly on Crais's side all along--which the next episode confirms.

As Moya and Talyn hide behind a moon several arns away, the crew board Scorpius' command carrier and, in keeping with their agreement, are granted full diplomatic rights and immunities. Crais asks that an addendum be added to their agreement so that Talyn can be brought aboard for his cognitive replacement, and Scorpius agrees. The situation is troubling for all the crew, but particularly Aeryn, who finds herself among former friends and comrades that now thing she's a traitor. But despite the reluctance of Peacekeepers to harbour criminals, they give the crew what they want: D'Argo receives surgery to remove the chain links from his time in prison, and learns the location of his wife's murderer; Rygel gets intelligence reports on the Hynerian political situation, allowing him to plan a return to power. Meanwhile, Crichton goes to work for Scorpius, examining their wormhole research. Crichton gives assurances that he's really trying to work out the Peacekeeper's problems with liquefaction and the like, but Scorpius suggests that Crichton is subconsciously holding back.
