*** And even if he really ''was'' a match, the fact that he was a dog with smaller kidneys, it's very unlikely that even using both of his kidneys as one would actually have been enough on Peter regardless if he was a match. Dr. Hartman even lampshades this as he didn't even know dogs did have kidneys to begin with.

And if Brian wasn't a match, Peter was still at the bottom on the waiting list for spare kidneys, and possibly would have died before he managed to finally get a new kidney as he was getting worse (granted, it was mostly because he skipped dialysis and therefore was his fault, but still.) and his family besides brain wouldn't have been able to help, as Lois wasn't a match and she didn't want her kids to go though the pain of kidney transplant regardless if they were a match, not to mention Stewie definitely wouldn't have been considered since he is just a baby (granted, baby with the intelligence as an adult, but still.)[[/note]]

Dr. Hartman reminds Lois that he's still on a long waiting list for potential kidney donors, Lois then asks the chances of him being bumped up the list, Dr. Hartman then responds that those chances are very unlikely, and Peter is probably going to have to wait months for him until a compatible kidney donor comes by, unless she knows if anyone could be a match. Lois decides to give her kidney to Peter, only for Dr. Hartman to tell her she isn't a match, as they check for spouse records for compatibility and she did not pass. Dr. Hartman then suggests Lois the only other option would be to see if their children are match, only for Lois to decline, not wanting them to go through the pain of kidney transplants.
