* {{Hypocrite}}: Brian initially tries to shift the blame of where Stewie contracted herpes before Stewie exposes sores under his fur, and ultimately admits that he was too embarrassed about having herpes to admit to passing it on to Stewie and Chris, yet much of the episode in between is him callously trying to downplay their contraction of the disease as no big deal.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: Peter may get less sympathy for what he goes through due to his antics with the whip (which quickly escalate from accidentally hurting people to doing so deliberately).

* {{Plothole}}: Where was Jerome when all of the business between Peter and his friends and the soldiers was going on? Clearly he would've instantly put a stop to the guys who were harassing his best customers.

** This episode shows even ''Lois'' is willing to put Meg down. Note how she doesn't say a ''word'' when Chris starts to put Peter down after the bar incident, including calling ''himself'' the new man of the house. But the moment she sees ''Meg'' trying to do so, simply insisting she gets milk for her cereal first, ''only then'' does she put her foot down and get Peter to stand up for himself. So much for a mother's love, we guess.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Peter attempts to down a can of spinach a la ''ComicStrip/{{Popeye}}'' to beat up the guys who took their booth, only for him to find it isn't that easy to open a can of spinach by hand, let alone down the whole thing raw. Not to mention it doesn't even work.

* ArtisticLicenseMedicine: Herpes can't be contracted through blood and barely has any impact on the quality of one's life (unless it's genital herpes). If this applied in Family Guy, than Brian would be considered a sympathetic character in this episode.

Said guys are hailed as heroes, while Peter and the gang still get no respect.
