* {{Bowdlerization}}: Not only does the TV version bleep out all the times Peter curses whenever he falls down the stairs, but a cutaway mocking the Jaycee Dugard kidnapping and rape case (Peter telling Lois that people live in weird places, like his cousin, Jaycee Dugard Griffin, followed by a shot of a Peter-looking girl in a shack with a baby in a cage telling a mean old man "My belly hurts again!") was cut for being TooSoon and DudeNotFunny in one fell swoop. The DVD and the Netflix streaming versions have the swearing and the offending cutaway uncut (along with some scenes cut for time, like Brian tricking his blind girlfriend into believing a garage with a boombox in it is a concert hall).

When Stewie picks up a splinter from the old staircase, Lois decides to replace it. However, Peter can't keep his footing on the slick wood and constantly falls down the stairs. When Peter finally gets tired of falling down the stairs, he moves into the bedroom permanently until Lois has the original stairs returned.

Meanwhile, Opie is fired from the Pawtucket Brewery and Peter's new co-worker named Stella is deaf. After Quagmire meets her, he is inspired to have a disabled ladies night at The Drunken Clam. Brian isn't impressed by the pickings but decides to try his luck with a normal-looking girl at the bar. Brian cuts to the chase and asks her out and she agrees, telling him her name is Kate whom he later finds out is blind. After a pleasant date at the movies, she shrugs off his suggestion to join her in bed but starts to kiss him goodnight when one of the neighbor's dogs start barking and she confesses how much she hates dogs. Brian manages to excuse himself without kissing her goodnight.

The next morning, Stewie pumps Brian for information about his date, eventually getting him to mention that Kate is blind. Stewie suggests she may be using him to get a seeing-eye dog but Brian brushes it off, admitting further that she hates dogs. Stewie wonders how he intends to get away with his ruse and Brian tells of trying to show her his good side before revealing the truth. Brian continues to impress her by faking events during their dates although resists being intimate with her, telling her it is out of respect. She invites him to a dinner with her folks but Brian finds out their vision is fine. When Brian tells Stewie about his predicament, Stewie convinces him to let him help. Stewie wraps Brian in bandages for his dinner date and Stewie dresses as a nurse, telling a tale of how Brian was burned rescuing children. When events reveal Brian's true nature, Kate leaves him for lying to her and exits through an alarmed fire door to the sound of blaring horns causing an auto accident. As Stewie is already dressed as a nurse, he heads out to help.

The next day, Brian is depressed over losing Kate until Stewie convinces him that since she is blind, he could use a different voice to fool her and he proceeds to do just that.
