Arriving on the scene, the [=DATS=] agents find Sayuri and Chika in the living room with a Digi-egg. Sayuri explains that it floated down from the sky and landed in her backyard earlier. As everyone discusses the significance of its arrival, the egg starts moving around of its own accord! The agents leap into the action to catch the runaway egg, but they make no progress until Agumon trips over his own feet and falls chin-first onto the egg. The shell cracks from the impact, and as everyone looks on in shock it hatches into a Puwamon.

Chika takes an immediate liking the cute baby Digimon, and since it seems harmless enough everyone settles in for dinner. Agumon grows jealous of the attention that the newborn is getting and tries to imitate it, to no avail.

Later that night, a Digital Gate opens above a suspension bridge. A birdlike Digimon, Falcomon, emerges. Unlike past Digimon, he’s on a mission: to find and retrieve the egg.

* CurbStompBattle: The fight between Masaru and Biyomon can barely be called that. Masaru beats the ever-loving tar out of Biyomon while Biyomon only manages to land a single punch which doesn't even do anything.

* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Masaru skirts this trope in the episode. He doesn't want Chika to be forced to join DATS because of her newfound bond with Biyomon, so as far as he's concerned Biyomon has got to go. And if Biyomon won't go back to the Digital World willingly, Masaru will just beat him within an inch of his life and ''make'' him go.

!! Japanese Title: ''I Will Protect Chika! Piyomon's Resolve''
Continuing from [[Recap/DigimonDataSquadE11TheVileOfVilemon the previous episode]], Tohma explains how the Digimon they've encountered so far seem to gain strength from negative human emotions. He also mentions that the barrier between the human world and the Digital World is much thinner than it was ten years ago, and that this erosion doesn't seem to be a natural occurrence. Something, or someone, is causing the barrier to break down. However, this discussion is interrupted when Miki and Megumi pick up a new Digimon signal... one which is coming from Masaru's house.

----
* BigEntrance: Merukimon makes his entrance by blocking [=GeoGreymon=]'s Mega Burst with a bolt of lightning, then materializing from a blue flame.
* CurbStompBattle: The fight between Masaru and Biyomon can barely be called that.
* CutenessProximity: Chika is immediately taken with Puwamon due to how cute it is.
* FlashStep: Falcomon moves so fast that he appears to teleport. None of the protagonists can touch him at first, and Masaru only manages to land a punch on Falcomon by taking him by surprise.
* HeroicResolve: No matter how badly Masaru beats him, Biyomon refuses to break his promise to Chika and return to the Digital World.
* PunchPunchPunchUhOh: Biyomon manages to sock Masaru right in the jaw during their fight. To Biyomon's shock, Masaru doesn't even flinch.
* WouldHurtAChild: Falcomon attacks Chika with lethal intent near the end of the episode.
