It's ''very'' hard for attorneys to get disbarred, because it really only happens when all attorneys can agree you've crossed an unforgivable line. Thus, you really mostly only get disbarred for fucking with your client's money. (They give you discretionary funds to pay for things related to your case, if you spend that for ''your'' things, you lose your license.) For other things, it gets fuzzy because it becomes a question of "Did he do this because he's an unethical asshole?" vs "Did he do this because he's an ''incompetent'' asshole?". For some reason, lawyers are willing to let idiots and clowns practice law.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: As we saw in the first season, Ellison is a good editor. He goes head to head with this {{Intrepid Reporter}}s not because he's hiding anything, not because he's bad or bad at his job, but because he has to challenge them and make sure they're digging for the truth, and not just the story they ''want'' to tell. It bit Urich in the ass because there ''was'' a conspiracy to silence him. It works between Ellison and Karen because Karen ''needs'' that guidance, and there's a story that needs to be told.
