This frequently lands him in jail or the asylum, for his own safety.

* ThrowItIn: When fake swearing, Karkat's and Gamzee's voice actors mispronounced any scripted usages of the word "bulge" as "bugle". The director apparently decided to leave it in because [[RuleOfFunny she felt it was funnier that way.]]

''Troll Cops: The Radio Play'' is a radio adaption of the {{Homestuck}} fanfic AU FanFic/TrollCops. Unlike the AU, which has many different canons DependingOnTheWriter, the Radio Play has a consistent canon based around the canon of the most prolific FanFic/TrollCops author, Wigmund, and any story that doesn't conflict with it.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The entire 2013-14 season. The late 2014 retool introduced the [[WelcomeToNightVale Night Valian]] community radio show framing device, as well as remastering and partially rerecording 2013 episodes and broadcasting them in a different order. It's almost as though the 2013-14 season never actually happened!

* TheOtherDarrin: WordOfGod says that this will happen to Vriska and Kanaya at the start of Season Two. The reason for this is that ''Troll Cops: The Radio Play'' is a production of a college radio station; Vriska's and Kanaya's voice actresses will be graduating in 2014.
** This has already happened to Karkat and Gamzee as of the November 22, 2013, episode as their original actors became too overwhelmed with other time commitments to continue doing the show.
** Terezi's was replaced as of January 2014 due to her original VA dropping out of school.
* TheOtherMarty: Amanda Steimle was initially brought on to do Terezi, but realized very quickly that she had too many other commitments, and was replaced with Gideon Del Rio for the first half of season 1.

* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Karkat, Nepeta, and Terezi were orphaned by the Green Sun Disaster; John's mother was killed as well. Bro Strider and Gamzee's family also died under other circumstances.

* MagnificentBastard: Pupa. He plans for everything. Doc Scratch too, but in his case, [[spoiler:being omniscient helps.]]

The reason for this is that ''Troll Cops: The Radio Play'' is a production of a college radio station; Vriska's and Kanaya's voice actresses will be graduating, while Terezi's voice actor is going on HRT, and thus will no longer be able to hit the high screech necessary to play Terezi.
** This has already happened to Karkat and Gamzee as of the November 22, 2013, as their original actors became too overwhelmed with other time commitments to continue doing the show.
