One pill in the span of six hours powers him up for 3 minutes and allows him to access four extra forms, without any negative effects. Two pills cause his trope: he still powers up as before, but trying to transform into a specific form instead forces him to assume a random form. Three pills force him to assume his [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Monster Point form]], which is stronger than all the previous forms combined, but turns him into an uncontrollable beast; on top of that, [[DeadlyUpgrade the strain of the form is so great that it will kill him]].

** Mao has [[{{Telepathy}} a Geass that allows him to read the mind of anyone within 500 meters]]. Over time, he loses the ability to control it and as a result hears the surface thoughts of everyone within range.

** It's revealed that Present Mic has ''excellent'' Quirk control because he's had to train with it literally from birth: when he was born, [[SuperScream his crying blew out the eardrums of everyone present]], including his parents, the doctors, and the nurses. He has no apparent 'trigger' limit and can voluntarily decide how loud he wants to be at any given time with no warning or lead-up. Because of how the physics works, this means that Mic rides a very fine line between disabling a target with a sufficiently loud shout and ''causing organ damage from the sound waves passing through their bodies''.

** Eri is unable to control her Quirk at all. Not only is this due to her young age, but she's never actually been told what her power was nor has she been given a chance to learn how to use it safely. When her Quirk first awakened, she [[spoiler:accidentally erased her father from existence, since her Quirk can rewind living things to a previous state, including a state in which [[CessationOfExistence they never existed]]]]. Izuku even compares her lack of control to slamming her foot on the gas pedal of a car and being unable to stop.

* Episode 4 of ''Anime/PokemonTheSeriesAimToBeAPokemonMaster'' has Ash tutoring a GentleGiant Beartic that lacked control over its [[AnIcePerson ice powers]] and constantly froze everything around it.

* Several people in ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex''. Touma can't turn his right arm off, so he constantly cancels his own luck and interferes with any magic in the vicinity. Aisa Himegame constantly draws in vampires and kills them en masse. Accelerator suspects that he has such an [[MysticalWhiteHair abnormal appearance]] because his power deflects ''sunlight'' off him, but isn't really sure. Index has no control over her John's Pen mode. [[spoiler:Aureolus Izzard needs intense focus to control his alchemist abilities and appears to rely on some type of acupuncture for it, and it still turns on him. As the final major example, the angel that gets sucked down from Heaven really can't help the fact that it ''has'' to return and that in doing so it will cause a major catastrophe. It doesn't seem very thrilled about the idea.]]

* In ''LightNovel/IsThisAZombie'', it's revealed that [[spoiler:[[{{Necromancer}} Eucliwood Hellscythe's]] magic is extremely powerful and unstable to the point that she has to constantly [[EmotionlessGirl remain emotionless]], [[TheVoiceless never speak]], and [[TwentyFourHourArmor wear magic-suppressing armor]] in order to control it. Even worse, whenever the words she says become magical, she experiences something equivalent to MindRape. Even more worse, provoking her enough for her to lose control of her emotions for one moment will have ''[[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds very disastrous]]'' results.]]

* ''LightNovel/RebuildWorld'': This is a major feature of TheReveal about certain characters. [[spoiler:It turns out that being an Old World Connector like Akira is, as in a DifferentlyPoweredIndividual with a wireless BrainComputerInterface, has the unconscious side effect resembling an InvertedTrope of TheEmpath: Broadcasting your feelings into others. Akira’s TraumaCongaLine childhood filled with betrayals was because he broadcast that he was weak to his surroundings, while at the same time, any suspicion he felt of those around him would be planted in those very same people. Katsuya has the opposite problem: He broadcasts that he’s strong to everyone around him, which is partially responsible for him being a ChickMagnet. For more open hearted people like Katsuya, it also gives them MoreThanMindControl persuasiveness.]]

* In ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'', the superpowered "Contractors" must pay for using their powers [[SuperOCD by performing a pointless action specific to that individual]] shortly afterwards. Those who don't have to make such a payment are called "Moratoria", suffering from Power Incontinence. Moratoria are stated to be extremely rare, the only one shown in the series having been changed from a normal Contractor as a side effect of a contract-suppressing plant. The same person reverted back into a normal Contractor in the end, something stated to have a near-zero likelihood, but not before going on several uncontrolled rampages wherein she [[PlayingWithFire incinerated several people.]] Sometimes the pointless action makes their powers ''very'' much not worth it, like having to drink the blood of children. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Or being forced to smoke.]]

* In ''Manga/MobPsycho100'', Shigeo's psychic powers are an extension his emotions and expression thereof; and much like a person can't always keep themselves from crying or laughing, Mob can't always keep from unconsciously using his telekinesis. As a result, he's taken to extreme EmotionSuppression in an effort to control them (which has its own [[SuperpoweredEvilSide negative side effects]]); and even then, he still accidentally bends spoons or levitates objects with regularity. He also has trouble controlling the strength and precision of his telekinesis when sick and thus avoids using them at all if he's feeling unwell.

* Rikiel from ''Stone Ocean'' only partially awakened his stand Sky High growing up, so the rods his Stand manipulates ended up harming him.

* In the DarkerAndEdgier ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' light novel ''LightNovel/PocketMonstersTheAnimation'', Nurse Joy advises Ash against evolving Pikachu because ones that evolve into Raichu too young end up experiencing a DeadlyUpgrade in which they give themselves heart attacks from being unable to control their electricity output, leaving them traumatized enough to avoid using their powers entirely and slowly kill themselves.

* In ''LightNovel/AscendanceOfABookworm'' Maine has staggering amounts of magical power in her body, but commoners have no way to release it. As such, it builds up in her body and puts her in life threatening danger. The only thing she can do with her magic without help is release it in aura form when she gets upset, which causes great emotional distress to anyone she's upset ''with.''

** Chapter 168 reveals that Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser can leak out if there's not a lens to keep it under control. In addition, his body is ill-suited to his Quirk, and when his stomach is crushed by the laser... let's just say that the "incontinence" part of this trope is [[PottyFailure quite literal]]. [[spoiler: Almost 200 chapters later, it’s revealed that this is because his body is incompatible with it as he was a Quirkless before his parents convinced All-For-One to give him a Quirk.]]

** Naruto is a Jinchuriki, meaning he has a powerful, dangerous demon, the nine-tailed fox, sealed deep inside his body. He learns to harness the demon's power one tail at a time, but if he reaches four-tails or above, then he needs an outside source [[spoiler:or the Fourth Hokage]] to calm him down. Otherwise, given enough incentive or time, ''more'' tails will come out, damaging not only Naruto but anything nearby. You see, the fox ''wants'' to escape. [[spoiler: Eventually, Naruto masters this power completely.]]

* A-Ko from ''Anime/ProjectAKo'' wears bracelets to keep her SuperStrength from crushing everything she touches (which tends to happen anyway as she's kind of spazzy). Also, every morning her LateForSchool SuperSpeed run causes damaging sonic booms, yet [[SnapBack the damage is always repaired by the next morning]].\\\
A-ko does not wear her wrist bands to bed, and in at least one movie was able to throw a pillow to silence an alarm clock without destroying anything. Maybe her powers don't work unless she's fully awake?

** Tomura Shigaraki, leader of the Villain Association, has the same activation parameters for his quirk, but considering that his quirk ''disintegrates'' whatever it's applied to, he has to be especially careful.

* The {{magical girl}}s in ''Anime/IlSolePenetraLeIllusioni'' constantly leak some of their magic. This doesn't seem to be particularly dangerous; [[ThePowerOfTheSun Akari]] causes plants to grow quickly, while {{Luna|cy}} attracts dogs.
