* Ruby and Tom have had quite enough of eldritch horrors for one lifetime, and as such, do their best to avoid any that exist in the Pantheon. The creations of H.P. Lovecraft are at the top of that list of beings to avoid, which of course includes one Cthulhu. The Chaos Gods and their Daemons are also given a wide berth -- a whole House's worth of space!

* Having to sacrifice his good prospects in order to make the people of Bedford Falls happy, George Bailey was miserable and down on his luck. One fateful Christmas Eve, however, it would seem that his life would be crashing down... After his uncle misplaced the money that was supposed to keep his family's loaning business afloat, he thinks of jumping off a bridge to pay the missing money with his life insurance. But before he could end it all, he rescued a man from a river. The older man claimed to be his Guardian Angel, who wished to earn his wings by making George appreciate his life. Still feeling miserable, George accidentally made a wish that it would be better that [[RetGone he was never born]]. He got his wish, which was granted as he visited an AlternateUniverse where ''[[CrapsackWorld everyone he knew of were miserable]]'', undoing every good thing he's ever done, all the friendship he'd made and losing his family. After taking back his wish, he's a much happier person and his misfortunes reversed, with the townspeople he had help coming to his aim and donating money to make up for the missing cash. On that day, he came to learn these immortal words that come with [[ThePowerOfFriendship friends]]:
-->''Remember no man is a failure who has friends.''
* George does not fully remember when he ascended. He just remembered receiving a strange letter, wandered into a strange part of town, panicked as he noticed he didn't recognize that part of town and thinking he was being tricked again. It was only after seeing Clarence again (now with his full set of wings) and having the angel explained everything to him, did George calmed his nerves a bit. He said George ascended after the Court of Gods realized that he truly had a Wonderful Life, and they hope he would [[ItsAWonderfulPlot inspire people to value their own wonderful life]]. Shortly after George ascended, the Court were able to approved his request to fix his deaf left ear, which is not hard with so many willing healers around.

** Besides those who wished they were never born, he also heard stories of those who wished they never met someone, never left their hometown, never taken that job or role that they have etc., with most of whom ended up being worse than what they had originally. He's also befriended some of those people and was glad they were able to appreciate their lives too. He's also observed that some of those people who shared his story were superheroes, whose absence also affect their teammates lives, their loved ones' lives and the lives of people that they saved. In turn, he was surprised that he was earned the respect of others (namely both Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent) who admired his perseverance in his battle against Potter and helping the little men.
** However, George is closest to Timmy Turner because his "Wonderful Plot" was just utterly cruel. Especially since what lead up to the situation was because people were being ungrateful towards Timmy and being shown how people were better off without him. George thought it was heartless to do to a kid. Even it was just a SecretTestOfCharacter. He dislikes Jorgen Von Strangle, who was the one to test the kid, as a result of this.

** He also deeply dislikes who use his situation for their own nefarious gain. Take Shrek or Sonic for example, as their respective enemies used the powers to prevent their existence, thus having no one to oppose them at all. He likens it to what happen to him when Mr. Potter took over Bedford Falls in his absence, except way worse. He dislikes Dr. Robotnik for these reasons and if Rumpelstiltskin ever ascended, he's going to give him a piece of his mind as well. Given that she gained Sam Mason's wish of never meeting Danny Fenton (thereby never inspire him to take up his superhero ghost persona in the first place) to remove the heroic ghost boy out from contention for her schemes, he also despises the wish-gaining Desiree as a result.

* George Bailey is often considered the most selfless man in the entire pantheon, as every sacrifice he ever made for the benefit of others. Because of this, he has earned the respect of others. There are many others who can relate to his story of self-sacrifice as well. Carl Fredricksen had to give up his savings to go to Paradise Falls (which he promised his wife that they would go) for every inconvenience thing that happens to the couple and never made it while his wife was alive as a result. Dipper Pines can relate to George having to sacrifices his happiness for his brother, as he had done the same for his sister Mabel. Even from those who have a higher power rank than him, he's still highly respected. Madoka Kaname, Shirou Emiya and Steven Universe have a habit of sacrificing themselves or otherwise risking themselves (and their mental health) for other's happiness and well-being. He pities each of them and hope that by sharing his story, they would be reminded that there are people who care for them deeply.

* During WWII, his family helped with the war effort in supporting roles. His brother Harry serve as a pilot and became a war hero. George himself never became a solder on account of his deaf left ear, instead he stayed home as an air raid warden as well as running the local scrap drives. George was proud to hear when his brother as awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his efforts. Had he not saved his brother from a frozen lake when they were kids (where he caught an infection resulting in hearing lost in his left ear), Harry would have not been there to save those people on the transport ship. George certainly didn't expect other soldiers from the Allied side to be deified too, but whenever he meets any of them, he paid respects to them for serving their country.

* Due to the show's simple premise & relatability, the show was even popular with the gods at the Trope Pantheon, who were invested in Truman's life since the first airing of the show in Pantheonic TV. Although some deities (like the viewers in Truman's realm) got over the show after it ended, there are those who wanted to know what happened to the former star after his story ended. Unfortunately, there was no known official records of what happened to him after exiting the dome. The deities who feel sorry for him and those who think he deserved a title for his bravery decided to make an ascension request for the former star. After the request approved, there were several attempts to bring him into the Pantheon without much success, as Truman ignored all the invitation letters sent to him. It was only after several representatives from the Pantheon were able to get in contact with the "Free Truman" group [[note]] which aims to have Truman released from the dome and end the show and has Sylvia as one of their members [[/note]] under the guise of wanting to help the former star have a better life, were they able to get in touch with Truman himself. It was tough convincing a skeptical former star to become a God representing those whose lives were secretly filmed for a RealityTV show, as he feared he would be held and setup for other show yet again. It was only after being told that he can bring his lover Sylvia as his herald and that he can return to the mortal realm and surrender his title anytime he pleased, did Truman reluctantly agreed to stay.

** In [[Series/WandaVision one of her versions]], Wanda Maximoff was a powerful witch who, [[spoiler:in grief of losing her lover Vision, trapped a town into a Hex]] and turning it into an idyllic fake town not unlike Truman's former hometown. It was only after realizing the truth about her powers and getting over her grief did, she remove the Hex [[spoiler:and freeing the townspeople]]. Truman feels sympathetic to Wanda since he knows what it is like to lose someone close to him (at least twice). At the same time, he doesn't approve having people being trapped against their will and forcing to live what they think is their ideal life. Wanda, upon hearing Truman's story, only felt more guilt for what she had done. Understandably, the two have yet to talk to each other personally about their situations.

** One of the few things Truman was willing to disclose about his mortal life was that he was now dating Sylvia. Being one of the few people he's met who didn't try to deceive him, she has been a big help to him in his transition to the outside world. During one of their travels, they often visited the House of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection. They often get support from couples (and even some siblings) who also were separated due to tragic circumstances. For example, in one of the subhouses, they met [[Pantheon/{{Romance}} Gabe & Rosewood and Kotaro & Akane]] who are two couples that started their relationship at a very young age, though circumstances ended with them getting separated. Truman relates to Gabe in having to lost his first lost (although thankfully Gabe's separation from Rose is less tragic) and advice him to keep his memories of her close with him in the hope he may one day be ready to continue their relationship. Being a couple who would reconnect (via a long relationship) and later resume their relationship, Kotaro and Akane feels pity for what happened to Truman and Sylvia but they were glad they had a happy ending to their story.

* A group of friends would come together in the game of Sbrub, going on a ComingOfAgeStory. Or, as it would turn out to be, a CreationStory. The game of Sbrub was a means of creating universes based off the player's actions, their own universe being made by the Trolls. Eventually they got to witness the end of the CreationMyth and enter their worlds, having ascended to godhood in rank.
* Applies to the group as a whole
** Thanks to Trolls pulling some strings, they've managed to ascend after [[EarnYourHappyEnding finally]] creating a new universe to live in; though they could only bring Earth into the Pantheon. As expected, their arrival created a few loops: Trolls disappearing in the future to help them create a world and ascend in present, Beta's involvement in Lord's English loops and the mere fact that some Kids have ''already'' spend some time in the Pantheon. For an unknown reason, reports on their appearance have varied greatly, with the only thing there's ever been a major consensus on are their eyes. After a while of debate, their "default", blank appearance has been determined, to use wherever it's needed.
** Beerus was less than excited to have not one, but ''eight'' new deities related to creation in the Pantheon. He's on decent terms enough, though, considering Kids can't just create on their whim. Not that they would even if they could, as they're happy as they are right now. [[Pantheon/TimeManipulation Whis]], on the other hand, was impressed by Beta's successful effort to escape [[ResetButton The Scratch]]. Speaking of Scratch, A very familiar, FauxAffablyEvil, manipulative and intelligent white cueball-headed figure has greeted them.
--> "[[spoiler:[[white:We meet once again, Seer. I see you have more than a handful of new companions, one of which seems to have harnessed her power over the void, much to my chagrin.]]]]"
** The Kids are related to each other, creating a family. Their exact relationships to each other are... [[StableTimeLoop confusing to say the least]]. The House of Family is still having problems with them, but a quick rule of thumb is that those with the same-colored hair are the ones who share a family tree. They're close friends with each other, and despite the occasional tension and infighting that breaks out between some of them, attacking any one of the eight is very likely to cause at least one of them to react, [[AttackOnOneIsAnAttackOnAll in less]] [[StandingBetweenTheEnemies or more]] peaceful ways. Either way, they won't seek out quarrels, and would rather enjoy their conditional immortality in peace. They absolutely hate Ozai and Scar, and the less said about Ragyo Kiryuin, who isn't in said house, the better.
** Kyubey showed up to them one day, apparently interested by the fact that a group of children has just successfully created an entire universe; being especially interested in Rose. He was quickly and unceremoniously kicked out a few minutes later once his [[DealWithTheDevil true]] [[BlueAndOrangeMorality intentions]] were revealed. They were quick to call bullshit on Chakravartin's "[[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist for the greater good]]" arguments shortly after being approached by him, as he was interested in their role of creation and thought they might work as understudies for his own ambitions. While Kyubey hasn't returned, and neither have any other Incubator, Chakravartin has outright declared war on them and they've clashed on numerous occasions. Which led them to meeting and allying with Asura.
** Due to their very friendly nature, Jade and Roxy have made friends with nature and cat deities, respectively, including more grumpy ones like Salem. Rose has also taken a liking to the cat deities, but it's not as obvious. Both Dave and Dirk have expressed interest in joining [[Pantheon/MusicalGenres EpicLloyd & NicePeter]]'s show. They dislike Katz (and pity Courage for having to deal with a SerialKiller like him), and get along with the Mew Mews, Magical Heroines who were infused with the DNA of animals and decided to fight back against evil aliens to prevent the Earth from being destroyed.
** All of them oppose the widespread and cataclysmic evil of Melkor and the Anti-Monitor, the latter reminding them more of Lord English than the former. And Bill Cipher was too similar to Doc Scratch for them to be comfortable with. The Dark Lord has tremendous envy that they are forces for creation, while he is a prime example of EvilIsSterile. They also hate Felix for being a traitor to the idea of friendship. Chaos also reminds them of both Doc Scratch and Lord English, the former for its intelligence, planning and manipulation skills and the latter due to its immense power, especially in the far future where it CameBackStrong and has destroyed pretty much everything with only Sailor Cosmos left to stand in its way.
** Zamasu, as if on queue, started ranting about how as mortals they don't deserve the powers of creation and god-tiers, but surprisingly cooled off into TranquilFury because while he hates them, [[EvilVersusEvil he absolutely despises Lord English more]]. So he, ''[[AbsoluteXenophobe of all people]]'' offered an EnemyMine situation; absolutely make English DeaderThanDead first, then they can fight one another. They refused his "help" because [[CompleteMonster he is as horrible as Lord English]] and would absolutely become an even worse threat if they gave him any aid to stop Lord English. Simply put, unless you share his niche worldviews [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating you aren't working with Zamasu]].
-->'''"Zamasu"'''': "How foolish mortals are [[{{Hypocrite}} that they can't let their hatred go]] for the greater good".
* Applies to Dave
** Dave Strider is the cool kid of the group, or at least that's what he's hoping. His obsession with being cool manifests itself in his unceasing pursuit of new ironic depths. Despite this, he will get serious and level-headed when needed be. Also hates puppets. Given how evil Doflamingo is and his string-based Devil Fruit lets him make PeoplePuppets of his victims, Dave really has it in for him.
** Dave [[ItMakesSenseInContext always floats over all stairs in the Pantheon.]] Due to Artix's title, Dave wasn't exactly friendly towards him at first, due to Dave's respect toward dead things. That is, until he learned that his job is actually to ''salvage'' dead. He's more than glad to help with that. Dave is fond of animals too, and was happy to see the House of Pantheon/BeastsAndFauna. He gets along with N, also sympathizing with his abused background because of Dave's own ParentalNeglect. Dave gets along with Neville as well, who proves himself as a hero.
** Has the title of the Knight of Time, [[TimeMaster letting him manipulate time]] to his advantage. He mainly uses it for SaveScumming and a CompoundInterestTimeTravelGambit. He's sided with a number of heroic time manipulators, like Dialga who's a steel-plated time dinosaur; major cool points for an archeologist like Dave. The Pantheonic Time Police was pleased to see him arrive in the pantheon. Some incarnations of the Doctor who try to play themselves as cool, notably the 11th Doctor, like hanging out with him. On an unrelated note, he has, as of late, struck up a conversation with [[Pantheon/{{Craft}} Vulcan, God of the Forge]], for ironic purposes, (A version that's really the only version not him made his [[RunningGag legendary]] [[CallBack piece of shit of a sword]].) Everything was going swimmingly until Vulcan mentioned it wasn't all that shitty. Dave Strider left immediately after that. Some theorize this is due to an InferioritySuperiorityComplex, due to the rather frequent symbolism in his multiverse, and the possibly symbolic nature of Caledfwich, his signature weapon. Dave Strider has yet to comment.
* Applies to Dirk
** The brother of Dave, Dirk Strider is [[FlashStep the speedy]], brilliant kid of the group. He's more laid back than his brother, but has a number of issues [[NotSoStoic and is less stoic than he seems]]. He gets along with Linkara because of their fondness for hats, and Dirk's [[ClosetGeek hidden geeky side]]. He's skilled when it comes to robots and A.I, which is why he gets along with Clank and why he hates SKYNET. He also dislikes Sigma and Metal Sonic, and was uneasy around X and Zero at first. He absolutely despises Metallix and Omega, and loathes Ultron, The Cybermen and The Borg even more than the other aforementioned multiple AI.
** Dirk has the title of the Prince of Heart, alluding to his power to manipulate souls. He avoids Voldemort because he abused the power of soul, which reminds him of what he could become if he ever falls to villainy. For similar reasons, he's ''very'' uneasy around Arthas, because of what he became and what he represents. On the other side, he gets pretty well with Zuko, to the point he is one of Dirk's sparring mates. He's not sure what to think of [[Pantheon/{{Thieves}} the Phantom Thieves of Heart]], who change the hearts of [[HateSink utter scumbags]] but do so through HeelFaceBrainwashing.
* Applies to Jade
** Jade Harley is the quirky, upbeat girl living along on a remote island. She was RaisedByWolves, being a NiceGirl who's taken some dog-like traits. She's close to many of the canine deities and the House of Pantheon/{{Canines}} because of this. She's particularly fond of Amaterasu and Red XIII for being big friendly doggos. On the other end of the spectrum she hates Dio for being a time manipulator [[BadPeopleAbuseAnimals with a penchant for cruelty and hatred towards dogs]]. Given her background she is extremely disgusted at Rorge for, [[SerialRapist among]] [[AxCrazy other]] [[PsychoForHire things]], raising Biter like a rabid dog without any sanity to speak of. She'd pity Biter were she not terrified of his complete and utter lack of sanity. On the flip side she seems to relate to N given how he was raised among Pokemon and the fact they're both nature lovers
** Her title is the Witch of Space, [[SpaceMaster allowing her to manipulate space]] with a FairytaleMotif to boot. She ended up associating with Palkia because of this. Dorothy was at first terrified hearing about Jade, as description of Jade made her think that one of the Wicked Witch has returned. Fortunately it turned out to not be the case, and now they're friends. A nature lover, she gets along swimmingly with the likes of Viridi (even if she is very, very extreme in her ways), Gaea, Captain Planet and Fluttershy. From Viridi, she ended up meeting Pit and Palutena and befriending them, and Hades sometimes messes with her for fun.
* Applies to Jake
** Jake has a love of adventure, thinking himself like he's Nathan Drake but [[{{Adorkable}} in reality he'd be that character's understudy at best]]. Naturally he fanboyed in the fact he got to meet him and Nathan seems fond of the kid. Auriel and Saint Walker have shown some positive interest in him given his role as the Page of Hope.
** Jake has taken a liking to Finn, and vice-versa, due to being young adventurous people with enough in common. They can be seen partaking in adventures together. He tends to associate himself with other heroic deities like Superman and Son Goku. Interestingly Goku and Jake English share a common connection in that one of their main enemies took inspiration from them; Caliborn would later adopt Jake's surname as Lord English, and one incarnation of Zamasu became so obsessed with Goku [[GrandTheftMe he took his body]] and became the Goku Black incarnation making up half of Fused Zamasu in the pantheon.
* Applies to Jane
** Jane is the heiress to the Crockercorp baking company. An AmateurSleuth, she can be short-tempered and rude at times but has a good heart. She's the Maid of Life, a fact which has led the Life Entity to consider her a potential White Lantern, more so than the other Homestuck kids. Xerneas takes a more active approach in aiding her. While allies with all the kids, Eru Illuvatar is most attune with her because of her role in life. Being a successor to a big baking company, Jane has influences in the House of Food and is on good terms with many of its deities. Additionally, Jane and Pinkie Pie are sometimes seen together in the House of Food, trying to beat each other at the pastry making. When not in baking mode, she likes sleuthing with Phoenix Wright and Hershel Layton. She's a big fan of Sherlock Holmes
** As intense as her and Pinkie Pie's baking wars sometimes gets, they're very friendly about it - it only helps that they both love to make pranks. She's gotten into some prank wars with T.J, but most of the time they like to prank Princess Morbucks and Mom. Being a snobbish ultra-spoiled brat and a ruthless corporatist [[BitchInSheepsClothing who masquerades as a]] GrannyClassic, they hate them and find them deserved targets. She's wholly supportive of the fact that the Phantom Thieves Of Hearts may make a move to change their hearts at some point in the future.
* Applies to John
** The Heir of Breath, John Egbert is the bombastic nerd of the group, serving as TheHeart of the group. John has formed an alliance with Monkey D. Luffy due to a shared love of [[FunPersonified fun]] and [[ThePowerOfFriendship friendship]]. Jake also managed to find common language with the legendary pirate. Some people wonder whether or not he realizes that the movies he watches aren't as good as he thinks they are. He doesn't, although he has come to scrapes with this on occasion.
** John is disturbed by the presence of [[Pantheon/OthernessAbominations Giygas]], who remains him of some of his [[EldritchAbomination weirder]] [[NightmareFuel nightmares]]. Rose on the other hands seems to be interested in learning about it, probably because of its similarity to Horrorterrors. She is ''very'' careful doing so, though. She does not want to repeat the incident that technially got her killed. That being said, both can't help but pity Giygas for what he used to be; though they know he can grow to a threat rivaling even Lord English if enabled to get that far. Ironically, [=MissingNo.=] is very wary of John, due to the fact that he managed to cleanse his session of glitches.
* Applies to Rose
** Rose Lalonde is the Seer of Light. She's a cat person with a passion for psychoanalysis and the Lovecraftian genre, leading to her being of interest for the Horrorterrors [[AllianceWithAnAbomination in their need for aid against Lord English]]. She has a healthy interests in the House of [[Pantheon/OthernessAbominations Abominations]]; healthy because she knows not to push or screw with them too much. Major fan of H.P Lovecraft.
** Rose has been seen talking with Garnet, partially because of both technically being able to see the future. Also, possibly because Garnet knows another person who was [[http://yoyonolen.tumblr.com/post/126598408276/animexion-i-saw-a-bunch-of-posts-about-lesbian "totally gay for Rose,"]] she seems to be particularly enjoying helping Rose and Kanaya's relationship grow. Regarding a different matter, When Salem and Rose first met, the cat confused her for Sabrina. It escalated further when Sabrina appeared and indeed, his interpretation of Rose looked ''very'' similar to [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sabrina_01_covint.jpg an alternate universe Sabrina.]] Rose looks a lot like Charmcaster as well, though when meeting her in person she had some reservations working with her because she tends to be stuck on the HeelFaceRevolvingDoor. Charmcaster is intrigued and a little spooked by her fondness for the EldritchAbomination type of beings.
* Applies to Roxy
** Roxy Lanlode is the Rogue of Void. Her [[OurArchonsAreDifferent Denizen]] was Nyx. While it had no connection to Nox, the protogenoi seems fond of her due to general friendliness of Roxy. She spends a lot of time in the House of Pantheon/{{Felines}} as she's a KindheartedCatLover, like Alphonse. And given she's going through puberty, often finds herself exploring the [[Pantheon/LustfulActs lust]] [[Pantheon/LustfulBehavior halls]]. Also, Roxy has unintentionally made enemy in Exdeath, as she can essentially steal things from the Void itself. She and Dirk also share SKYNET as an enemy given their origin from a BadFuture. [[Pantheon/OthernessAbominations Amara]] believes that Exdeath is being temperamental though would rather she keep her hands off her. Amatsu-Mikaboshi finds her role to be a great insult, as does Chaos.
** It has been noted that Roxy has much in common with Chuggaaconroy, both being kind and positively weird gamers with a soft spot for cats. To nobody's surprise, on their free time they are sometimes seen hanging out. Knowing a thing or two about computers, she's been seen aiding Sam Flynn in cyberspace. In Cyberspace she has been helping some good-aligned Digimon deities and even Sage as well, who has warned her about the potential return of an immensely manipulative, clever and powerful entity named THE END who wants to kill EVERYONE out of sheer, sadistic pleasure.

* Rip Van Winkle is a Dutch-American villager during the time of colonial America, years before UsefulNotes/TheAmericanRevolution. He was beloved by most of the village but was a lazy farmer and family man. One day, Rip goes squirrel hunting with his dog Wolf to get away from his nagging wife. He wanders into the Catskill Mountains, where he sees a strange short bearded man dressed in old-fashioned Dutch clothes and helps him carry his keg through a ravine. Rip finds other strange men playing ninepins (a type of bowling) that seem to make the sound of thunder. He tries the drink from the keg the man was carrying but drank too much of the liquor and falls into a deep sleep. When he woke up, he found that his old body ached, his gun had been rusted and his dog was missing.
** Rip returns to town, but soon he finds that his village had changed: The places he used to hang out there are gone and replaced, a lot of people living there he didn't recognize, and all seem to be talking about Election, Democracy and the like, which confused him. A crowd had gathered to see the strange old man; Rip asked where his old friends are, to which they told him they had died, with some of them having gone to war. He asked where "Rip Van Winkle" was and they pointed to a man who looks similar to him (who he didn't know was his son). He begins to doubt his own identity and falls into despair in front of the crowd until a woman appears with her child. Recognizing her voice, he asked her what happened to her parents, to which she replied that her father went missing 20 years ago after going up the mountains and her mother had died. That's when Rip told the woman that he was her missing father and a local historian corroborated his identity. He also corroborated his story, that the Catskill Mountains were haunted by the ghost of the explorer Hendrick Hudson and his crew. After getting caught up with what he missed and reuniting with his old friends, and befriending the new people, old Rip retires peacefully and retells to other people the simpler life before the American Revolutionary War and his strange tale from the mountains.
* Old Rip took a nap one peaceful day around the forest near Catskill Mountains. Rip awoke from this brief nap but felt that something was off. He return to his village and found his surrounding had completely changed yet again; his neighbor's houses are now replaced with strange-looking temples and his old degraded home looked restored. Rip felt like he was having Déjà Vu and was starting to lose it thinking Hendrick Hudson and his crew has come to bewitch him yet again (but he was sure he hadn't drunk anything). Luckily, a few deities saw and approached the confused old man and helped explain his situation. All this talk about the Pantheon--ascension--deification--The Court of Gods--titles, were gibberish to the confused Van Winkle. Despite that, he traveled to the Court as advised by the people around him. During his hearing, he was very relieved to hear that he hadn't perished yet and can return to his village in the mortal realm anytime. He did make his children his heralds to come and visit his new place, not wanting to repeat his mistake of leaving them again.
* The Court of the Gods told him that he was assigned to represent stories involving people awaking from a long slumber as his story's influence was so great they [[Main/TropeNamers named the phenomenon after him]] and such similar incidents have occurred in other worlds too. Rip didn't know what means at first but that does sound important, and felt quite honored to have a title bestowed upon him. As he's only a Quasideity with no royal lineage, he felt surprised and in awe by the royalties (Aurora and Zelda) and other important people visiting his temple to pay their respects. Despite that, he tries to be as accommodating to his guest, listens to their stories and give advice whenever he can. He's impressed by the cases of Big Boss, Senku, Chell and Fry, who have slept/been in a coma-like state ''far'' longer than he is.
** Superheroes are a foreign concept to Rip. Despite that, he found the stories from Captain America, Superman and the Powerpuff Girls quite interesting. He found a kindred spirit with Steven Rogers due to being woken at a culturally different time in America and having to adjust to that setting. Superman was once knocked out by Kryptonite and woke up centuries later to realize that he had slept past through so much time he's outlived everyone he knew and cared for. He did find a way to make it back to the present after helping the future people defeat their oppressive overlord. Rip calls Superman fortunate to be able to make it back to his own time unlike him. The Girls [[Recap/ThePowerpuffGirlsS2E12SpeedDemonMojoJonesin once traveled into the future]] after racing each other too fast; their absence caused their town to go into ruin and allowed [[Pantheon/{{Demons}} HIM]] to rule over Townsville. The Girls regretted their actions and were also fortunate to get back home by racing backward. The story moved to Rip a bit; he counted his blessings that despite his unfortunate incident, he would at least be thankfully it didn't turn out worse than what he got.
* Adapting to a new environment isn't new to him considering what he went through, but he does admit it was quite a lot to adapt to the Pantheon's modern sensibilities and technologies, which were far different from his life before and after the war. Thankfully, Rip's time adjusting to his new life was made easier by meeting another contemporary; namely the four journalists of the Pennsylvania Gazette. The four were surprised to meet someone from their time but at the same time missed all of the events during the war they were familiar with. Even though Rip already knows about the revolutionary war, they like to talk to him about their experiences to inform him how the conflict affected the nation. Rip is surprised by how knowledgeable the group was and gets along with them. In turn, he likes to tell stories to them about his time before the war. Another person from his period Rip met was Ratonhnhaké:ton or Connor; he was a bit apprehensive of Connor at first, not because he's half-British/half-native American, but because he's an assassin. Thankfully, the journalists vouched for Connor as they told Rip that he only wanted to his skills to protect his people.
* It was said that Rip isn't a politician and that "the changes of states and empires made but little impression on him". He isn't interested in politics nor was he a hard-core royalist but he's already made aware of the changes in his country after his awakening. He also hears a lot of great stories about George Washington and Benjamin Franklin from the journalists of the Pennsylvania Gazette and his neighbors from his world. He did eventually meet the founding fathers, who were excited to meet a famous literary figure from their time. Despite not being there to experience the American Revolution (thus didn't see their influence first-hand), he did start to respect them after meeting them face to face.
* Rip was informed of another contemporary who shared [[Creator/WashingtonIrving the same creator as him]]; said person was said to be a Hessian soldier who lost his head during The American Revolution. Unfortunately for the old man, that person was The Headless Horseman, who tried to chop his head off when Rip tried to visit his temple. He was not prepared to deal with such a wicked spirit and he was lucky to get out of The Horseman's temple alive. Rip had more luck meeting other figures from American folklore like Paul Bunyan. The lumberjack tried to ask old Rip to employ his son as a lumberjack but the younger Rip's laziness proved to be troublesome. He's also acquainted with a fellow folklore figure Johnny Appleseed. Johnny once tried to help Rip and his son set up an apple farm; however due to their laziness, their apple farm wasn't successful.
* He often had his life's tale compared with the lives of George Bailey and Ebenezer Scrooge, who were shown to them how people's lives were affected by their absence via supernatural ways. George and Ebenezer became friends with Rip soon as they realized these similarities and Rip respected their found admiration in their lives. They sometimes pity Rip as unlike them, Rip's never magically gotten his life back to normal. He's also friends with Truman Burbank, a cheery man whose worldwide was scattered after the discovery that he's secretly part of a Main/RealityTV show. In a way, Rip relates to Truman for having his world change suddenly around him, even if he struggles to understand what Reality TV is.
* Alongside his current title, he was also offered to represent Main/HenpeckedHusband due to the term being originally used to describe him. Rip immediately refused as he doesn't want to be reminded of his overbearing wife whom he finally escaped from. He did strike up an unusual friendship with those who also have an ill-tempered nagging wives, like the fairy Cosmo and the Saiyan Goku. Although their wives would berate their husbands for their mistakes, at the end of the day, they mean well and still love each other at the end of the day. Rip can't relate to that as the love of his wife probably went away years ago. More on Goku: Like Rip, the Saiyan was once made to work on his farm by his wife but didn't last long as he would rather train than do farm work. He also tends to leave his children behind for a long time for his mission but he still loves them deep down. Rip may be a fighter himself but they get along well.
* Popeye once helps a version of Rip from his world by letting him sleep on his bed. This is because Rip got kicked out of his house for failing to pay his rent (as Rip was asleep in his house for 20 years). Popeye even tried to rescue him after Rip sleep-walked and was found among Hudson and his crew. Rip woke up after Popeye accidentally drop Rip's coin, and started shooting at him thinking he was an intruder and pickpocket. Rip remembers his incident and thanks for having the knowledge of his different incarnations. Even after Rip's ascension, Popeye tends to avoid Rip as he's worried Rip might start blasting at him when he sees him. Rip hopes to meet the sailor again to clarify this situation and make amends.
* Rip had a few strange encounters involving his very name. The vampire [[Pantheon/NamingReferences Alcard]] once visited Rip's temple thinking that one of his old foes (who happened to share Rip's name) had ascended. Thankfully, it didn't lead to a violent confrontation after Alcard realized this old man wasn't the lady homicidal vampire he was familiar with. Rip is still worried about the whole thing as he didn't want to be involved in the vampire and his enemies' conflicts due to sharing someone else's name. Another incident was involving some members of House of Pantheon/LawAndJustice, who tried to question the old man about some crimes he didn't commit; it turns out an outlaw had used his name to mislead the authorities. Rip confronted this outlaw for using his name; said outlaw was John Marston, who apologized to Rip for getting caught up for his crimes. After John told his life story, Rip became more sympathetic to John after learning he was also once a neglectful husband and father before he realized his criminal actions affected his family.
* Rip is a good–natured man by all accounts. Although Rip gets along with older people, he's more friendly with the younger adults. Rip also get along with most child deities regards of their time–period. He would sometimes play along with them, giving them piggyback rides, teaching them older games or telling old local stories. He's learned that some children had studied his story in class to the point of boredom but were surprised to see how friendly he is in the flesh. Some parents are fine with Rip letting them play with their kids. Some do take an issue about how Rip treats his own children. Rip reassures them that he would be a better father and would not try to leave them again after going missing on them for decades. He also refuses to be associated with bad and neglectful parents as he doesn't want to get a bad rep for his previous actions.
* Rip doesn't seem to have any enemies due to his friendly nature. That said, he does have a few things he tends to avoid when traveling within the Pantheon. In addition to The Headless Horseman, he tends to avoid the Hall of Ghosts or any temples that may have ghosts in them to avoid being bewitched by its residents. For the same reasons, he tends to avoid the presence of any elves, dwarves or gnomes (as some depictions portrayed Hudson and his crew as these creatures). He also avoids trying many of the Pantheon-made liquor as a precaution. After all, he's not sure if those drinks contain any supernatural properties or not. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, many of the Pantheon's ghostly residents can understand why Rip is avoiding their kind. They are a bit curious about Hudson and his ghostly crew as bewitching someone to sleep for a long time is an uncommon power for most ghosts.
* Sometime after he had learned that he can assign pets as heralds, he ascended his dog Wolf, whom Rip missed since he fell asleep. He traveled with his dog when his children were preoccupied in the mortal realm. He also met the Bagge couple, an old couple who frequently encountered the supernatural and other weird stuff in their town. Rip is friends with the kind-hearted Muriel and found it difficult to get along with the temperamental farmer Eustace. Courage is weary of the old man at first, but he eventually gets along with him and Wolf after seeing that Rip was no intention to harm his owners.
* One of his favorite past times was squirrel shooting and sometimes going to the woodlands to hunt for them. However, squirrel shooting became troublesome for him after he shot a funny-looking squirrel around the Pantheon's forests. This [[Pantheon/RabbitsAndRodents Screwy Squirrel]] was unhappy about being shot and started to play tricks on the old man. Thankfully, the squirrel-themed heroine [[Pantheon/{{Personalities}} Squirrel Girl]] intervened before it got any worse and informed Rip about the various sapient and non-sapient squirrels that inhabited the Pantheon. Rip apologized to Screwy and Squirrel Girl and promises to not hunt near the Pantheonics forests again. Screwy hasn't fully forgiven Rip for the incident but he did stop playing tricks on Rip after the old man stayed true to his word.
* Some deities doubt the legitimacy of Rip Van Winkle's tale, especially those who don't believe in the supernatural. Their point is rather moot given that the people who have chosen Rip's title have already verified his tale. Many historians and history buffs in the Pantheon like to visit Rip's temple to ask him about the average life in Pre-Revolution America. The old man was happy to entertain their questions with a bunch of stories he can recall. Jake of The Animorphs has found interest in listening to Rip's stories about life before the American Revolution. As a military history buff, Jake likes to tell him stories about the American Civil War given that Rip probably didn't live to see the start of that war. It took a while for that information to set in for Rip, but he doesn't really have a strong opinion on that matter given that it's far ahead of his time.
''"One taste provoked another; and [Rip] reiterated his visits to the flagon so often, that at length his senses were overpowered, his eyes swam in his head, his head gradually declined, and he fell into a deep sleep."''

Having to sacrifice his good prospects in order to make the people of Bedford Falls happy, until one George Bailey was miserable and down on his luck. One fateful day where Christmas Eve, however, it would seem that his life would be crashing down... After his uncle misplaced the money that was supposed to keep his family's loaning business afloat, he then met an angel and thinks of jumping off a bridge to pay the missing money with his life insurance. But before he could end it all, he rescued a man from a river. The older man claimed to be his Guardian Angel, who wished to earn his wings by making George appreciate his life. Still feeling miserable, George accidentally made a wish that it would be better that [[RetGone he was never born, born]]. He got his wish, which was granted as he visited an AlternateUniverse where ''everyone ''[[CrapsackWorld everyone he knew of were miserable''. miserable]]'', undoing every good thing he's ever done, all the friendship he'd made and losing his family. After taking back his wish, he's a much happier person and his misfortunes reversed, with the townspeople he had help coming to his aim and donating money to make up for the missing cash. On that day, he came to learn these immortal words that comes come with [[ThePowerOfFriendship friends]].
-->''No
friends]]:
-->''Remember no
man is a failure who has friends''
friends.''
* George Bailey is often consider does not fully remember when he ascended. He just remembered receiving a strange letter, wandered into a strange part of town, panicked as he noticed he didn't recognize that part of town and thinking he was being tricked again. It was only after seeing Clarence again (now with his full set of wings) and having the most selfless man in angel explained everything to him, did George calmed his nerves a bit. He said George ascended after the entire pantheon as every sacrifice Court of Gods realized that he ever made for the benefit of others. Because of this, he has earn the respect of others. Like both Bruce Wayne truly had a Wonderful Life, and Clark Kent. They admired his perseverance in his battle against Potter and helping the little men.
* When
they hope he would [[ItsAWonderfulPlot inspire people to value their own wonderful life]]. Shortly after George ascended, the Court were able to approved his request to fix his deaf left ear, which is not hard with so many willing healers.
* Was very disturbed when he found out there were people who thought [[MisaimedFandom Pottersville was a cool place]] with all those clubs and what not. This is despite the fact the place was utterly corrupt with many living miserable lives.
* Does not care very much for Mr. Burns as his entire character reminds him of Mr. Potter. Though, he doesn't understand how one minute he could be [[PetTheDog less evil]] then Potter and other times [[KickTheDog be worse]] than him.
** He also dislike Seto Kaiba. This is because he heard how he made two million in buying a family company and basically blackmailing them to buy it back or he fire everybody in the company.
* One of George's life long dreams was being able to travel across the world. While he couldn't do that in his former life, with his ascension, he is able to finally fulfil that dream. It isn't just limited to global traveling as he was giving permission, with a special pass, to enter certain other universes. Though, to be on the safe side, a representative of that world does chaperone him.
** George also got a chance to do a bit of architecting for the pantheon and helping with remodeling and rebuilding any temples that get wreck. It happens more often than you think
healers around.
* Found out that his situation of wishing he was never born and being shown how life is without him has happen happened to others.others. He felt both unnerved and amazed about this revelation. Unnerved because it mean that they suffered a similar existential dread of having no one to remember them like he was; but also amazed how his story affected the lives of those beyond his world and knowing that it would at least make them appreciate their life just as he does. He has befriended some of these peoples like Kermit, Duncan and Donald.
**
However, George is closest to Timmy Turner because his "Wonderful Plot" was just utterly cruel. Especially since what lead up to the situation was because people were being ungrateful towards Timmy and being shown how people were better off without him. George thought it was heartless to do to a kid. Even it was just a SecretTestOfCharacter.
SecretTestOfCharacter. He dislikes Jorgen Von Strangle, who was the one to test the kid, as a result of this.
*** Upon meeting Jorgen to give him a piece of his mind, the muscular fairy argues with George that he was just teaching the child that good deeds should be done for what is right and shouldn't be done out of praise. George agrees to that statement, but still thinks Jorgen's methods are still cruel. The fairy then tries to change his mind about the matter by showing George other stories where the person's life was better off without them existing, as their loved one lived better lives without them. Most of them either didn't get the lesson (like the case of [[Pantheon/LoveInterests Cheryl Blossom]], [[Pantheon/{{Laughter}} Butt-Head]], and [[Pantheon/RomanticLoss Johnny Bravo]]) or lived out of pure sprite (like in the case of [[Pantheon/CritiqueAndParody Nostalgia Critic]], [[Pantheon/VillainousSuccessAndFailure Dick Dastardly]], or [[Pantheon/OptimismAndPessimism Al Bundy]]). This didn't help Jorgen's case (and even the fairy admits he showed the latter three's stories for a quick laugh) and George was just sad for them. He did find at least one world where [[Film/SixteenWishes the lesson actual sticks with them]], which he's at least thankful for.
** [[Pantheon/RecollectionAndAmnesia Stan Smith]]'s story highly intrigued him. Like him, he too had an angel that tried to teach him to appreciate his family...twice. Once by [[spoiler:taking away his original family and replacing the ones he currently has (which is [[Pantheon/AmericanDad the family he ascended with]]) as punishment]] and twice by switching places with his children's Principal, [[spoiler:causing him to marry his replacement wife and become the father of his children)]]. Stan instead wishes to return to his [[spoiler:replacement family]] as that he grows attached to them. He's not specifically interested in Stan himself (he's frustrated in him in not learning his lessons), but more so in the idea that had he not learned his lesson and wasn't distraught by the changes in his town, he would have probably been like Stan and [[spoiler:started a new life as well]].
* It was said that George's story is comparable to the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. The story of a bitter old man who was shown visions of what his life used to be and what would have been had he not changed his ways. George hasn't sure to expect when meeting Scrooge, who looks at and acted like Mr. Potter at first. When Scrooge dropped his pretend crankiness however, George and Scrooge get along together swimmingly, especially since Scrooge is no longer the bitter stingy person he once was. For the same reasons as Scrooge, he gets along with Scrooge [=McDuck=]. George's story is also comparable to Rip Van Winkle's; (in a comparable analogy) instead of George being sent to a world where he wasn't born, he was instead missing for 20 years, having missed WWII and then Mr. Potter took over Bedford Falls. George pities what Rip has got thought, but he's thankful Rip was able to cope with that.
** The [[Pantheon/CritiqueAndParody Nostalgic Critic]], of all people, realized to similarities of both George's and Michael's stories, to the point of almost calling the inferior version of the other (whatever that is). George doesn't really get the Critic (and avoid him anyway after hearing his insane Christmas antics). He did get to meet and talk Michael himself and noted the opposites and similarities (with Michael being a successful architect but being more self-centered to the point of pushing anyway his family, and having an "Angel" show him the error of his ways and showing what he would have missed). As such, the two also get along pretty well.
* Was very disturbed when he found out there were people who thought [[MisaimedFandom Pottersville was a cool place]] with all those clubs and what not. This is despite the fact the place was utterly corrupt, with many living miserable lives. George pointed to the numerous casinos and brothels, which he views them as a place where sin thrives. With some modern corporations often ruin people's life too, sometimes taking advantage of people in small towns, there are luckily some people who are understood what George has gone through.
* George distrusts any crooked and corrupt business people in general for taking advantage of those who are in need and especially if they are desperate. Does not care very much for Mr. Burns as his entire character reminds him of Mr. Potter. Though, he doesn't understand how one minute he could be [[PetTheDog less evil]] than Potter and other times [[KickTheDog be worse]] than him. He also dislikes Seto Kaiba. This is because he heard how he made two million in buying a family company and basically blackmailing them to buy it back, or he fires everybody in the company.
* One of George's lifelong dreams was being able to travel across the world. Unfortunately, he had to forsake his dreams in order to take over and run his father's loaning business after he passed away. While he couldn't do that in his former life, with his ascension, he is able to finally fulfil that dream. It isn't just limited to global traveling, as he was giving permission, with a special pass, to enter certain other universes. Though, to be on the safe side, a representative of that world does chaperone him. George also got a chance to do a bit of architecting for the pantheon and helping with remodeling and rebuilding any temples that get wreck. It happens more often than you think.
* As he was saved by the Angel Clerance, Clarence, George has massive respect to many of the good Angels here.here. He respects Dudley, the representative for Guardian Angles, not just because he also happen to Clarence serve as his High Priest. Even angels who are just as flawed as human, like Castiel, has respect for and believes can still do good. It's unknown how he feels about the fallen ones, however.
* Became very close Often visits the House of Pantheon/{{Despondency}} to Charlie Brown help others overcome their suicidal thoughts by sharing his experiences. He wants to help others the way Clarence helped him. He has conflicting opinions on people who committed SuicideForOthersHappiness. On one hand, he was saddened, even that he views suicide as a sin from God, illegal and also wished they had found other solution that didn't come to that opinion. On the other hand, knowing that it is like to be in that position, he's sympathetic to them somewhat.
* During WWII, his family helped with the war effort in supporting roles. His brother Harry serve as a pilot and became a war hero. George himself never became a solder on account of his deaf left ear, instead he stayed home as air raid warden as well as running the local scrap drives. George was proud to hear
when he learned of his brother as awarded the bald kid's determination despite Congressional Medal of Honor for his constant failures.
efforts. Had he not saved his brother from a frozen lake when they were kids (where he can an infection where he lost hearing in his left ear), Harry would have not been there to save those people on the transport ship. George certainly didn't expect other soldiers from the Allied side to be deified too, but whenever he meets any of them, he paid respects to them for serving their country.
* Became George befriended several children in the Pantheon too. He became good friends with Sara Crewe after learning about how she was financially troubled after her father's death yet was able to have her fortunes recovered. The girl looks up to him as a father figure.
figure. He also became very close to Charlie Brown when he learned of the bald kid's determination despite his constant failures. Hearing Pollyanna Whittier's story sort of reminded him of his own, as her endless optimist helped the people in her town, and they were able to her by lifting her spirits up when she was at her lowest.
* Christmas became a special time for him, as that was the day he was given a second chance at life. He's a good friend with a lot of Christmas related deities (save for [[Pantheon/{{Celebration}} Santa Claus]] despite both being altruistic, most because he hasn't met him yet). He also has another reason why Christmas was special for him: He was informed that when his movie first came out, it flopped and its obscurity lead to it being forgotten and put into the public domain. The film was rediscovered and interest for it revived when TV stations started playing it during Christmastime to fill in their holiday time slots. In a way, just like the man himself, the film was also given a second chance at life.
*** The reason why George knows [[https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/the-odd-places-it-s-a-wonderful-life-has-turned-up/ his story comes in the form of a film in other realms]] is he had meetings with other people who say they had seen him before their ascension. One of those people is Bruce Nolan, who credits him for the idea of pulling the moon closer to inspires his girlfriend (which he didn't know at the time, as a bad idea). Other deities include [[Pantheon/CouplesRelationships Samuel Malone]], who saw the film in the bar he was tending. [[Pantheon/{{Musicality}} Paul McCartney]], who liked the film, is planning to write [[https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-49014762 a musical play based on his story]]. However, he's a bit tight-lipped on the details about it.
* Many are upset that George never got even against Potter for all the crap he gave him. Rumor has it that there was an alternate outcome of Clarence the Angel giving a ReasonYouSuckSpeech to Potter.
Potter. George eventually has come to know that Mr. Potter was the one who hid the money that his uncle misplaced. He decided to let it slide out of respect for the holidays and because he couldn't generate proof anyway beyond just a hearsay. George would lie if he didn't find that [[Series/SaturdayNightLive one alternative scenario]] where he and the townspeople found out where the money went and [[https://youtu.be/vw89o0afb2A?si=oD8QrVnOiUaiw4vw everyone just beat up Mr. Potter]], quite cathartic.
* He sometimes hangs out with Peter Warne and Ellie Andrews due to their respective films sharing [[Creator/FrankCapra the same director]] a mortal superior]], and can be seen sharing his exploits with them.them. He also made friends with L. B. "Jeff" Jefferies and Jeff Smith. The two Jeffs admire George for being a hard-working, honest and kind-hearted man. George, in turn, admires their respective feats. It helps that they all [[Creator/JimmyStewart look very similar to each other]]. Scottie Ferguson, on the other hand, envies George for having a Wonderful Life, unlike his tragic ending. He avoids George, as the sight of his happy family would break him down (not helping by [[Creator/JimmyStewart the fact they look alike]]). After hearing his tragic story, George sends holiday wishes every Christmas for Scottie in the hopes of cheering him up like he did during the same time of year.

''"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"''
-->--'''Clarence Oddbody''

* He had also found other deities (specifically Joel Barish, Stanley Ipkiss, Bruce Nolan) who [[Creator/JimCarrey look very similar to him]]. Truman didn't find it weird at first, thinking that he might have a long lost twin or sibling somewhere he could meet one day, but then he found out they are just {{identical stranger}}s. * After a corporation officially adopted him as a baby, Truman Burbank's whole life has been documented and broadcasted for the whole world to see (all the while being unaware that he's being filmed). The show's production even had the ''wild'' idea of building a dome around him, with a fake town with lots of hidden cameras to capture Truman's authentic emotions. To prevent Truman from ever leaving the set or even desiring to leave his town, the show's creator and director Christof decided to scare young Truman by making him witness his (in-show) father's "death" (developing a fear for the water
in the Pantheon
process) as well as frequently broadcasting messages against travelling out of town. Everything on the show would run smoothly for many decades until one day, Truman begins to notice several unusual things happening to him. A random spotlight falling from the sky, a random radio signal telling what he's doing at the moment, or his dead father seemingly appearing back into his life. Convinced that someone is watching him and questioning everything he has ever known, Truman tries to leave town to find his former crush Sylvia, who was taken away from him many years ago for trying to reveal the truth of his existence to him. Almost everyone else in the production tries to prevent him from escaping by putting increasingly elaborate ruses to block him. Truman, however, is determined to leave, even going so far as to face his fear of the water by crossing a bridge and later sailing his boat though the artificial lake and eventually reaching the end of the dome. Christof then reveals himself to Truman, tells him the truth about his life but tried to convince him to stay inside. But Truman faces his supposed audience, says his greetings one last time and leaves the dome; cancelling the show in the process.
* Ever since his ascension, Truman is currently seeking therapy treatment in order to overcome his experience.trauma brought upon from his experiences (namely his recent near-death experience, his difficulty to trust anyone who isn't Sylvia or the "Free Truman" movement members and adjusting to a "normal" unscripted lifestyle). It was somewhat difficult considered he is almost 30 by the time he discovered the truth about his life, but good-aligned therapist in the Pantheon promised to try their best. He recently learns of the real life mental condition named after him "Truman Show Delusion", in which the person believes they were being watched as part of a TV show or have cameras everywhere watching their every move. Truman doesn't exbibit those delusions himself (since most of his suspicions came from justified observations) but he pities those who are suffering from this mental anguish and hope they would get help they need like he does.
* To this day, Truman refuses to disclose what happened to him after he exited the dome. He even refuses to disclosed whether he has travelled to Fiji or not. Sometime after staying in the realm for a while, he became more comfortable discussing his life in the Pantheon. When he's not feeling distrusting about the people he meets, Truman is a friendly guy who likes to do small chats to the people he knows and trusts. Still, as he only got out of the dome recently, it took him a bit of time to get used to the fanatical stuff in the Pantheon (on top of a new normal life like in the mortal realm). However, since reuniting with Sylvia, he seems to be back to his old cheery self again, provided that you don't piss him off by randomly pestering him (like some fans and paparazzi would do).

** Ahiru and Buddy is impressed that he also [[RageAgainstTheAuthor revolted against Christof - the producers of "The Truman Show"]] and knowingly chose to step out of the unknown to start living in the outside world. Because of this, he REALLY hates Herr Drosselmeyer for being too sadistic and frequently tortures his characters.
** Katniss Everdeen sympathize with Truman for also being exploited for entertainment, saying that she is sorry that he was being unaware of his situation his entire life. Truman felt sorry for her for being forced to participate in The Hunger Game as a sacrifice. It helps that both of them eventually found the strength to take control of their life.
** Deadpool felt oddly sympathetic to Truman due to how he recognized his status as a character in a show. However, Truman is annoyed with Deadpool craziness and usually avoid him.
* Because of his experience, he ''really'' dislike the House of Theater due to how he recognizes the situation of the characters in the plays the House usually performed. He also harbors a distaste for TV producers as well due to the fact that one put him in the situation in the first place.
** He also dislikes being seen on camera. This is why he doesn't like reporters, especially the sleazy ones.
* Is worried that the entire Tropes Pantheon might be a fake created by a bunch of people on the internet for entertainment... No, it couldn't be. The Council of Cloudcuckooland is the only one that took him seriously and currently conducting investigation.
* Is weirded out that he suspiciously [[Creator/JimCarrey looks like]] [[Film/BatmanForever one of the Riddler's counterpart]]. This caused Batman and Harvey freaked out whenever they see Truman due to that Harvey's creepy [[HoYay obsession]] with their respective version.

to:

** Ahiru He quickly discovers he's not the only one who was secretly filmed for a television audience. Apparently, Homer Simpson did this happened to him about a handful of times (all of those time were not good for him). The 10-year-old Timmy Turner was also a subject of a reality show, in which the whole audience of fairies would secretly watch his escapades. Truman certainly didn't approve his solution of getting out of his contact by [[spoiler:having [[Pantheon/{{Subjects}} Denzel Crocker]] replace him]] (he would prefer if the whole show was cancelled), but he's glad Timmy was clever enough to get out of that situation. Another boy, Greg Heffley, thinks he himself was on a TV show because he watched a movie similar to Truman's experiences, to the point that he thinks everyone he knows are all just actors and Buddy is robots. Greg tried to prove this by spraying his dad with a hose but was grounded for it. Not wanting to leave it to chance if it was true, Truman promised to look into these claims further to help the boy out.
** The duck turned magical girl Princess Tutu (aka Ahiru) and animal-themed superhero Animal Man had their [[RageAgainstTheAuthor fair share of encounters with the creators of their respective worlds]]. Their creators Drosselmeyer and "[[Main/AuthorAvatar The Writer]]", who were sadistic by letting their creations suffer for entertainment, were the main source of their troubles. That's perhaps why they are
impressed that he also Truman, a powerless human, [[RageAgainstTheAuthor revolted against Christof - his creator Christof]], survived a horrible storm the producers of "The Truman Show"]] production generated that nearly killed him and knowingly chose to step out of the unknown to start living in the outside world. Because of this, he Truman, in turn, after hearing their stories, sympathized with them and REALLY hates Herr Drosselmeyer hated their creators for being too sadistic the torture they have put their characters through.
** While Truman was never forced to kill anyone during his time in the spotlight, he still feels shocked
and frequently tortures his characters.
**
pitiful for those who are forced to do so, especially if they were children. He approached Shuichi Saihara due to their similar bad experiences with Reality TV [[spoiler:and their attempts to escape from it]], and they have been good allies ever since. Katniss Everdeen sympathize with Truman for also being exploited for entertainment, saying that she is sorry that he was being unaware of his situation his entire life. Truman felt sorry for her for being forced to participate in The Hunger Game Games as a sacrifice. It helps that both of them eventually found the strength to take control of their life.
life. On a similar note, while their situation of being trapped in a TV show due to being tricked by the devil rather than something more grounded, Roy and Helen can't help but pity Truman for being stuck on TV his whole life when they had his story.
** In a lot of ways, Truman also sympathized Stanley's situation; from discovering that [[spoiler:he and his co-workers are secretly being filmed and monitored for their boss' nefarious plans]] to being railroaded by an omniscient voice in order to follow his story. Finding similar to how his show's creator wanted to him to follow a specific storyline for him (like not letting him leave town or have him be with "Meryl" instead of Sylvia), he dislikes Stanley's Narrator for his controlling ways. Having experience with being put into a specific story path and wanting to break from it, he gained both the sympathy and respect for Stanley's allies ICEY and Old Man Henderson.
** Although Jonas and Jimmy's reasons for being sheltered are different, their stories are no less relatable for Truman. Having also been isolated within a community with a dark secret, Jonas was glad for Truman was able to escape after learning the truth. Jimmy, on the other hand, was isolated and keep in a bubble due to being born without an immune system ([[spoiler:but kept being in the bubble despite gaining an immune system since he was 4 as a lie by his overprotectiveness mother]]). Truman personally finds Jimmy's efforts to reunite with his crush Chloe heartwarming, as someone who also tried ([[spoiler:and succeed]]) with reuniting with Sylvia.
** Deadpool felt oddly sympathetic to Truman due to how he recognized his status as a character in the "main character" of a show. However, Truman is annoyed with Deadpool Deadpool's craziness and usually avoid him.
him. For the most part, Truman doesn't like the idea that he himself is a fictional character, as he doesn't want things to revolve around him and preventing him to do what he wants. Viola (from Cassette Beasts group) had a brief existential crisis when she learned she was a fictional character in some universes, specifically when she found out she was actually Viola of Messaline from [[Pantheon/TheatreAndSpectacle William Shakespeare]]'s ''Twelfth Night''. But that information did not deter her from defying her fate and forge her own path in her current universe. Due to their determination to be independent as well as knowing the pains of having to lose (and try to reunite) with their loved one, both Truman and Viola gained mutual respect for each other.
* Because of his experience, he ''really'' dislike dislikes the House of Theater due to how he recognizes the situation of the characters in the plays the House usually performed. Although he understands that they are only doing what they are told for their roles, Truman still finds it hard to trust many deified actors in general. He also harbors a distaste for TV producers as well due to the fact that one the creatives behind the show put him in the into his situation in the first place.
**
place. He also dislikes being seen on camera. This is why he doesn't like reporters, most reporters and paparazzies, especially the sleazy ones.
ones.
* Is There were several attempts to recreate The Truman Show's concept in the Pantheon (from a single person to planetary-wide surveillance), most to fill the void left by the original show's cancellation. However, all of them had massive pushbacks due to Truman and Sylvia's protest efforts. Disgusted by the idea of various groups trying to unknowingly using people for entertainment, they make sure that those kinds of shows don't even make it into production once their allies let them know those were in the works. Truman and his various allies are also one of the reasons why various 'live' {{Deadly Game}}s like Literature/TheHungerGames, [[Franchise/{{Danganronpa}} The Killing Game]] or [[VideoGame/MadWorld Death Watch]] have not been recreated yet in the Pantheon. The Death Watch commentators [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Howard and Kreese]] are quick voice their frustrations about it in one of their broadcasts.
--> '''Kreese''': I heard yet another live {{Deadly Game}}show is supposedly in the works on Pantheon TV, with rumors that annoying Tsumugi girl we talked about the other day being their one of their co-creators.
--> '''Howard''': Good fucking luck getting that greenlit while Truman, his hot girlfriend and his cronies are still around. I say it's certainly better than those reality shows where they just film a random guy 24/7 where nothing happens.
--> '''Kreese''': You know, I remember watching that finale and thought the show finally got exciting when they show Truman's corpse after that storm. Him being alive was the biggest fucking let down since they faked-killed his dad.
--> '''Howard''': Seriously, I think that show should have used more carnage if the writers wanted to keep show alive.
--> '''Kreese''': Tru that.
* To be told, Truman is not a particularly religious man. Sure, he did talk to a man in the sky that claims to be his creator (which some religious people and film analysists took it as a metaphor for seeing God). However, in hindsight, he was only talking to a mere old man that was speaking to him in an intercom above. He doesn't really know what to think about actual gods in the Pantheon other than express his displeasure about the gods who want to control over the lives of mortals. He certainly hated [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] for wanting to create a WorldOfSilence, not unlike how Truman's life was completely controlled by the media company filming it. He also hated the god who also goes by [[spoiler:Chuck Shurley]] for manipulating his world for his own entertainment.
* Truman used to have a job as a life insurance salesman and hasn't returned to that job since entering a private life in the mortal realm nor being a deity in the Pantheon. Not that it would suit him to return anyway since his job was never real and that people on this realm get to be revived anyway, making selling life insurance kind of worthless. With that free time, Truman decided to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming an explorer as there's no one preventing him for travelling anymore. In most recent days, Truman likes to travel a lot, sometimes with Sylvia, sometimes by himself. You can often see him travelling in the House of Pantheon/{{Travel}} and its sub-house of Pantheon/{{Touring}}, riding around to visit various destinations in the Pantheon. Of course, not all off the places in this realm are safe, and Truman learned the hard way to not ignore people's warnings sometimes, with him nearly getting himself killed again. But overall, he's glad of the freedom he has gained since exiting the dome.
** In the past, Truman's fear of the water was so bad that even standing in a port or looking at a submerged boat in the shore would make him really anxious. Ever since conquering his fear of the open water, Truman's also retaking boating lessons for fun and as exposure therapy. So far, he's met one other person who manages overcome their fear of the water. That being the heroic Finn the Human, who had done so to fulfil the dying wish of his idol as well as killing the physical manifestation of his fear. One deity jokingly suggest Truman should meet [[Pantheon/WaterAndMoisture The Nuckelavee]], a horse-like fairy creature that cannot stand freshwater (and only freshwater) and refuses to cross any rivers or streams. But given its evil nature, Finn warned him not to meet it. Thankfully, due to his recent travel experiences in the Pantheon, Truman listened to Finn's advice.
* About Sylvia & Meryl: She was just a background extra who goes by "Lauren" whom Truman had a crush on when he was in college. Because she was not Truman's intended love interest and also because she tried to tell him the truth about the show while together on the beach, she was taken away right in front of Truman by her 'father' (who was also an actor) who told him she was going away to Fiji. In the years since, he kept her memory alive by keeping her sweater, remembered the real name she told him and making a picture of her face from collage of various face parts from magazines he ripped away, hoping that one day he would leave his town and go to Fiji to see her again. In the meantime, he married another college student Meryl (as a rebound, as one viewer speculated), although they don't have much in common interest wise. Due to Meryl only being concerned about her acting role and Truman's increasing paranoia, their relationship imploded due to Truman's furious outburst and her not being able to be address his emotional concerns.
* One day, Truman had a
worried suspicion that the entire Tropes Pantheon might be a fake created by a bunch of people on the internet for entertainment... No, it couldn't be. be, thought Truman. Some deified conspiracy theorists encouraged him to look into his suspicious further. He asked several deities (including those with MediumAwareness) for back up his claims but none of them had the heart to tell him the truth. He eventually learned the truth (by visiting the Hall of Pantheon/{{Metafiction}} no less) and he and Sylvia marched into The Council Court of Cloudcuckooland is the Gods angrily demanding answers. The High Court told the truth and said it was standard procedure to record the activities of any ascended deity, with interactions orchestrated by powers beyond their comprehension. The reason why they didn't tell him sooner was because they are bound by the mechanics of the trope he was holding. That said, his allies and the friendships he made with them are genuine and unlike his show, there was never done of malice but to give him a better life in the Pantheon compared to his time in the mortal realm. They do understand should he would try to renounce his title after knowing the truth. After much thinking, Truman decided to still keep the title, deciding to use it to help those who are in a similar situation as him. However, he makes a request to ''never'' record his activities without his direct permission moving forward and exercise his right to only one that took him seriously and currently conducting investigation.
share what he is willing to share.
* Is weirded out Recently had [[WebVideo/FreshyKanal visions that he suspiciously was in a rap battle with a strange red hairy string creature]], who proceed to insult him and his upbringing (by saying he's a spoiled brat for wanting to leave instead of staying in a town that would keep him safe). Truman then insults the creature by saying he and his friends are uncreative and unoriginal. At the end of his vision, Truman discovers he was in a set all along and even his opponents were all just costumes and puppets. This distresses Truman but was later informed that it might be visions from another alternative universe. After quite a bit of researching, Truman discovers these creatures are actually exist and happened to be deities themselves. The Red Guy (his opponent) in particular found him to be relatable for the former star being that he too was aware that things are not quite right in his world and wanted to escape from it. He then visited their temple but things didn't pan out as he hoped. On their first meeting, he got along really well with the trio and was close to telling about them living in a show had he not tried to leave early for a planned appointment. By their second meeting, [[LaserGuidedAmnesia they have forgotten their first meeting]] and dismisses Truman as being a nutter for trying reveal the truth to them or talk about what happened in his vision. Since he is being aware that the trio are stuck in a nightmare in their original realm and as a quasideity he can't do much about it, Truman can only feel pity in their situation and hopes they can break out of it one day.
* He had also found other deities (specifically Joel Barish, Stanley Ipkiss, Bruce Nolan) who
[[Creator/JimCarrey looks like]] [[Film/BatmanForever one of the Riddler's counterpart]]. This caused Batman and Harvey freaked out whenever they see look very similar to him]]. Truman due to didn't find it weird at first, thinking that Harvey's creepy [[HoYay obsession]] he might have a long lost twin or sibling somewhere he could meet one day, but then he found out they are just {{identical stranger}}s. Still, they bonded over their complicated love lives and how relationship with their respective version.other halves made them into a better people. He is also friendly with The Grinch and Ebenezer Scrooge after visiting their hall on Christmas time, but didn't realized they sounded the similar to him sometime after. He also makes sure to avoid Count Olaf and The Riddler due to their evil reputation. He makes sure to inform [[Pantheon/{{Superheroism}} Batman]] and [[Pantheon/ChildArchetypes The Baudelaire Orphans]] that he means no harm to them.
