* The SemiDivine king of Uruk, Gilgamesh was sent to Earth by the gods in order to bridge humanity and divinity together by leading humanity. Unfortunately for them, he proved to be quite arrogant and oppresive as [[DroitDuSeigneur he took every young man's bride on their wedding night for sex]] as well as exhausting the young men by making them participate in games, undergo forced labour and tests of strength. The gods' hear the people's pleas to stop Gilgamesh's oppression by creating an equal in the form of Enkidu, the primordial man who is made of clay. After adapting to civilization, Enkidu eventually stops Gilgamesh from going to the wedding chamber one night and they fought; Enkidu was eventually impressed by Gilgamesh's superior strength and they decided to become friends and it helps that Enkidu is that companion the king had dreamt of.
** After their various adventures, the gods decided to mark Enkidu for death in spite of Shamash's protests. Enkidu died of an illness and Gilgamesh refused to believe so until a maggot dropped from his rotting nose. Now fearful of his own mortality, Gilgamesh seeks Utnapishtim as he holds the secret to everlasting life. After some run-ins with other beings, Gilgamesh reached Utnapishtim who told him of the great flood myth and had him go through six days and seven nights without sleep before actually telling him of a boxthorn-like plant that is at the bottom of the sea. Once obtained, he plans to test it on an old man once he returns and when he stopped to bathe, a snake stole the plant and the king weeps over his great loss and mistake. He then returned to Uruk empty-handed, but he praised the kingdom's walls to the ferryman Urshanabi. He later ruled until the end of his days and he was later buried in a tomb, and his spirit departed to the underworld.
* In that underworld, Ereshkigal told him of a place that both mortals (dead and alive) and gods walk among each other and that they are honoured with a title that symbolizes a notable deed or trait of theirs. As he desired to be remembered long after he's gone, making him in a way immortal and not forgotten, Gilgamesh asks her to take him there and she accepted, albeit with initial hesitancy. She guides him to a chamber akin to a modern courtroom unfamiliar to the King of Uruk as he requested for a position in the realm of the Trope Pantheons. The Judges checked and they found him worthy of representing [[TheEpic ancient tales of heroism that spans numerous chapters]] in general, since his story is the more notable and influential. Satisfied that many have heard his grand tale, Gilgamesh accepted his new position and now stands among the contemporary characters as being the hero of one of man's oldest surviving literature. And he also did not hesitate to bring back Enkidu as his Herald, whose death played a big part in his development to a wise king.
* Ereshkigal was the goddess that oversaw his passing and in turn, the king respected her and her duties while also pitying her origins before taking the position. Their relationship is more cordial than his own with the other Mesopotamian gods, who he became sour at for making Enkidu die. Among them is Ishtar and the Bull of Heaven, two of the divine beings they met throughout their journey and the two had given them a very hard time since Ishtar sicced the Bull at them out of revenge for Gilgamesh rejecting her advances. Understandably, the king and his companion wants nothing to do with the goddess and her bull. The king then saw that there are two Tiamats unfamiliar to him, one from the world of turbulent order and chaos and another where the prideful Gilgamesh resided. The first one is hellbent on wanting all creatures to return to her womb by turning them all into a primordial ooze due to being unable to cope with them outgrowing her and for the second, dragon Tiamat it's expected that the King of Uruk would antagonize her especially that she seemed to be like Humbaba, but more destructive and he swears she would never reach Uruk if it passes. . Gilgamesh both pities and antagonizes her for that reason, sharing his opinion with the alternate, prideful Gilgamesh that all children will inevitably outgrow their mothers which is a sentiment the Beast II adamantly refuses to believe.
* On the subject of the prideful Gilgamesh, he and the multi-armed Gilgamesh see him as rather pathetic, especially since he had outgrown his old ambitions of becoming an immortal prideful king when he should have been aiming bigger. The former, also declared the King of Heroes, does relate to him and praise him for finally governing Uruk properly after going through a similar journey to his though the original king is rather shameful towards the prideful one, as his actions in his modern world in a Japanese town had horrified him, demonstrating to him that he would have become a worse tyrant had the gods not sent Enkidu to keep him in check. This strife is why the two would never truly get along with each other, even if the prideful Servant king has three Masters who are able to keep his behaviour in check and prevent him from doing any drastic measure in wanting to rule over humanity again.
** As for the multi-armed Gilgamesh, he is more of a battle-hungry warrior than a despot who seeks to collect every weapon in every universe he is able to set foot on. They did fought to a standstill, prompting the travelling Gilgamesh to declare that he will have the original king's weapons, a prospect that the king is irritated at since he refuses to have his own treasures taken by others.
* As he later grew to be a more wiser king, Gilgamesh found some kinship in Settra the Imperishable who was a legendary ruler and king who united his people and committed numerous unsavoury act in order to preserve the well-being and prosperity of Nehekhara, yet he desired immortality above all else and established the Mortuary Cult as a means to find a way to develop one. Despite using what the cult had developed and made to extend his life to some extent, he died of natural causes. Then, thousands of years later, he was resurrected but as a Tomb King, and he was angered that not only was he now a rotting skeleton, but his kingdom was destroyed millennia ago and immediately set off to re-establish his reputation and reunify what was left of Nehekhara. The king of Uruk was grimly reminded of who he used to be, an oppressive tyrant when it comes to the abhorrent acts Settra did but he nonetheless praised Settra for leading and standing by his kingdom far better than he did, while Settra was a little apprehensive that he was a tyrant before and it took a loss of his friend and foolishly loosing the plant that granted immortality while bathing to force him to be more humble but he nonetheless commends Gilgamesh for finally ruling Uruk benevolently until his dying days.
** Nagash the Undying and Sigmar Heldenhammer were once mortal beings who would find their respective way to ascend into Godhood. Nagash worked himself up to create Necromancy and the Undead first before going on to defeat, devour, and usurp the Nehekharian God of Death, Shyish to take the mantle himself while Sigmar was simply blessed into Godhood along with the Winds of Heaven further empowering him due to Tzeentch's machinations. Gilgamesh is horrified at the idea of the undead as people were supposed to be resting in the afterlife in peace and Nagash metaphorically spits on it by practicing necromancy and leading hordes of undead; Nagash himself also lambasted Gilgamesh for letting himself be complacent to not secure the immortality plant while bathing of all activities as he would have made extra sure it does not happen and to rub more salt into the wound, Gilgamesh had allied with Settra who he sees as a worthy enemy and wants the king of Uruk to step aside. As for Sigmar, like with his gripes with Settra, he was apprehensive that Gilgamesh was an arrogant tyrant before Enkidu died of an illness, but he's more willing to ally with him as he is now, a wise king who becomes a legend by finally governing Uruk justly.
* The Nameless God is a mortal being who managed to obtain a near-divine state of being, but desperately wishes to become truly divine and even more so when the other gods were worshipped while he wasn't. While he would like to be praised a lot at best or worst, Gilgamesh never aspired to be as high or even higher as the gods no matter how much he takes issue with Inanna, and sees the Nameless God as a grim reminder of trying to do such a thing. As the Nameless God negatively commented on his past through the Scarecrow, Gilgamesh tries his hardest to not get lost into the Nameless Isle.
* King Gilgamesh later learns that there are other SemiDivine men other than him. Hoping to know more about them, he had sought the outliers that are Hercules, Achilles, Cu Chulainn and Perseus with the coincidence that they happen to have Servant forms. Hercules was a little apprehensive since the last king he served while performing the Twelve Labours personally disliked him, though he assures the warrior he had humbled since his journey, somewhat easing Hercules enough to be acquainted with him. Achilles is fine with the king as long as he doesn't disrespect him or hurt Patroclus, something that the king took note when sparring with him and the Hound of Culann finds him more better than the King of Heroes he's more familiar with, an opinion he happily shares with. Perseus though, is rather conflicted as he feels Gilgamesh wasted his divine gifts to do whatever he wanted with his people like bedding every man's wife, not unlike how King Polydectes selfishly wanted to bed Perseus' mother but he does recognized that Gilgamesh did changed, albeit at the cost of a dead friend and a mistake of losing a chance at immortality.
** One of Zagreus' weapons is the Twin Fists, the Infernal Arms that once belonged to Gilgamesh. The king of Uruk doesn't recall having a weapon in his arsenal, but he does nonetheless praised Zagreus for his heroics as well as sympathizing him and his complicated upbringing. Zagreus in turn, is honoured from Gilgamesh's praise now that he knows the one who wielded the Twin Fists... or at least, a version who didn't but it counts. There is also Percy Jackson and his friends who are also half-bloods with Percy being directly descended from Perseus. The king congratulated them for being brave and living up to their legacies while Percy and his friends in turn learn from his advice and accepted his aid, even if Percy is aware that his ancestor can be apprehensive of the king and tries to find a compromise between listening to the two heroes. It was through them that Gilgamesh was made aware of [[https://riordan.fandom.com/wiki/City_of_the_Plague_God another version of him who did consume part of the immortality in time before the snake fully stole it and later on, helps a young man named Sikandar Aziz to defeat Nergal]] and while Gilgamesh envy that alternate self for actually attaining immortality, he would be crying over spilled wine at this point now that he had long accepted his own mortality.
** There are also those who also befriended deities very closely, like Sanae Kochiya who befriended the goddesses of the Moriya Shrine, Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya. He was taken aback by both Kanako's attempts at gathering faith for their belief which led to most incidents (if not all) in Gensokyo that Reimu Hakurei had to solve and Sanae being eccentric herself, what with both her interest in giant robots and mantra of all the weirdness happening in Gensokyo. Nevertheless, Sanae has proven herself to be polite and respectful enough to the king that he has taken a liking to her.
* As much as he would like to be immortal for once, Dr. Henry Morgan shows up in his court to tell him otherwise. The doctor pointed out that being immortal is not as grandiose and liberating Gilgamesh would like it to be, as Dr. Morgan had to deal with constant pain and revivals, keeping the secret of his immortality (a new problem that the king has yet to face) and the people he knew and loved gradually dying one by one. The king of Uruk was devastated that the doctor had a rough life once he became nigh-unkillable even if Henry pointed out the benefits of gaining new experience from a long life, and so Gilgamesh thank Dr. Morgan for the insight, welcoming him anytime he sets foot into his temple. The doctor was hoping the king would give up looking for immortality, but at least he is techinically already immortal and he hasn't tried to tortured him for how his own works.
** It was through Dr. Morgan that Gilgamesh became aware of Lord Voldemort and Ra's al-Ghul, evil {{Immortality Seeker}}s who have less-than-benevolent schemes in mind instead of beneficial. The king of Uruk has vowed to never follow their example as he had moved on from being a tyrant and declared that they are banned from setting foot into Uruk as long as he draws breath should they have plans there. The two villains heeded his warning, though they are more intrigued by the immortality flower he had obtained, which they are disheartened to hear that they can't find it anymore.

* Yu Narukami came to the small town of Inaba to stay with his uncle and six-year-old cousin and enroll at Yasogami High School for a year due to his parents working overseas. Once there, he quickly made friends with both Yosuke Hamamura and Chie Satonaka. After following the trail of the murder of Yosuke's crush Saki Konishi, Yu, Yosuke, and Chie were able to discover the inside world of the Midnight Channel known as the TV World, where they found out it was where various murders including Saki's took place. Aided by the mysterious yet cheerful bear entity known as Teddie, they were able to accept their Shadows which became their Personas and help the rest of the attempted victims to do the same. Knowing that they are the only ones who could solve the strange murders happening around Inaba, the Investigation Team was formed!
* After much debate in the Court of the Gods, it was decided that all members of the Investigation Team were to be united together under [[UnbelievableSourcePlot their shared adventure of using the Midnight Channel and TV World to solve the murder case in Inaba]], thus moving them all to a new temple in the House of Narrative. It took some time for the move to begin, but this band of TrueCompanions were able to live together under one roof, something they wouldn't have any other way.
* Exclusive to the team as a whole:
** The one thing the entire team has in common is their protectiveness of [[EveryonesBabySister Nanako]]. While Nanako is actually Yu's cousin, they are still as close as siblings, and Yu will '''never''' let anyone hurt her without suffering the consequences. Every other member of the team also care for Nanako greatly and are just as protective. They tried to keep Nanako in the dark about the TV World after one such incident lead to a near-death experience for the young girl. Nanako, alongside the Cutie Mark Crusaders, ended up being attacked by the Heartless and saved by Adachi's Persona Magatsu-Izanagi, dredging up past memories regarding her kidnapping by [[ObliviouslyEvil Taro Namatame]]. Later over dinner, she confronted Yu with this issue, and his constant deflection resulted in her shouting at her Big Bro before locking herself in her room. Shortly after he left, as she cried in her bed, a dark wave abducted and delivered her to the TV World. Naturally, the entire Investigation Team, Nanako's father, [[Pantheon/FriendsAndCompanions Marie]], ''and'' Adachi went in to rescue her...
*** Dojima, on the way to Nanako, crossed paths with his Shadow who this bit to say... about accepting Adachi despite the truth of everything he did. Surprisingly, [[spoiler:just like [[Pantheon/GameDesign Kain Highwind]], Ryotaro was able to accept it, the things his ex-partner has done to Inaba, and what he's done since then (including at the [[VideoGame/Persona4ArenaUltimax P-1 Climax]]), and he managed to earn the Shiisaa Persona with it. The rescue team eventually found Nanako having cake with her Shadow, who was under the guise of a stained-glass themed masquerade ball-goer. Things got tense as the Shadow, which was themed around deception to reflect the secrets that had been hidden from Nanako for so long, eventually went berserk and engaged the group in combat, using webs, minions, and berserk-inducing effects. Eventually, after defeating the Shadow, Yu helped Nanako come to terms with what everyone had done to her, and she eventually acquired a Persona, Throne. And then, once they were out of the TV World, the entire team came clean with everything they had been hiding from her, and even commended her actions in the [[VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight Kanamin Kitchen incident]][[note]]Stopping a shadow by stating it wasn't the real thing without even realizing what was going on[[/note]]. Since then, she's hung out with the Crusaders a lot more. Nanako currently trains under Teddie and Ken Amada to use her Persona.]]
** The Investigation Team serve the unique purpose of helping other deities awaken their Personas in the Pantheon's version of TV World. Further information can be found [[Pantheon/PantheonicPersonas here]].
** They weren't exactly proud to see that Adachi, Ameno-Sagiri, and Izanami again after what they did to Inaba. Though Sagiri respected the team, he is still willing to destroy humanity if he thinks that humanity wants it once more. The team are just glad that Izanami and Adachi didn't do anything to the Pantheon thanks to former's new hope for humanity and the latter's desire for atonement, but they are still keeping an eye on them. While Yu is still wary of Adachi, he is the only person who believes in his change of heart unlike the others who's reactions are of it are negative. Adachi did help them during the [[VideoGame/Persona4ArenaUltimax P-1 Climax]] after all
** The team once played together in a band together, each bearing a different instrument[[note]]Yu's bass guitar, Yosuke's electric guitar, Chie's trumpet, Yukiko's saxophone, Kanji's drum kit, Teddie's tambourine, Naoto's piano and synthesizer[[/note]] with Rise as the lead singer. Sometimes they even invite their HonoraryTrueCompanion, Marie to join them as a singer while she plays the electric guitar. The team will occasionally visit the House of Pantheon/Musicality to polish their skills and practice… when Rise isn't being [[LoudnessWar interrupted]] by [[Pantheon/SingersAndPerformers I-No]].
** To say that they hate Monokuma and Junko Enoshima would be an ''understatement''. Seeing the world they caused, it disgusts them as it remind them of what would happen if the darkness inside their heart didn't change and for Junko wanting to cause despair because of boredom and amusement somewhat reminds them of Adachi in some way.
** The team hates Agatha Trunchbull due to being a SadistTeacher who hates children and for abandoning her own niece, which caused them to make sure that she ''stays'' out of Nanako's sight and retorted how she is ''worse'' than Kashiwagi, especially for Chie since her attitude reminds her that of her Shadow self. The first thing they did to her is summoning their Personas to scare the shit out of her and to make sure that they'll never cross each other's paths or any of their loved ones. Agatha Trunchbull has been scared of them ever since.
** The team greatly dislike Light Yagami very much, since he's a serial killer who is willing murder anyone who berates him for his methods of eliminating crime, regardless of whether they're criminals or not, just because he thinks he's a god who has the right to do so. Yu in particular sees a lot of himself in Light, with Light being what he could have become if he didn't have any friends. It seems fitting that one of their successors, Ryuji Sakamoto, is a contrast to Light [[Creator/MamoruMiyano despite sounding similar to him.]]
** Both Chie and Yukiko have interacted with Hanako Ikezawa of the House of Love, to varying results:
*** Considering how much Ikezawa '''hates''' to be overprotected, one would think that she and Chie wouldn't get along that well. The two actually became good friends: Chie is well aware of how shallow and self-serving a DeclarationOfProtection can be, as she can attest from her encounter with her Shadow, considering it is literally her greatest weakness, and sympathizes with Hanako's anger at feeling like that's why people try to protect her. On the other hand, Chie wants Hanako to know that when somebody tries to protect someone else, it's not always because they want to uplift themselves: most of the time, it's because they care about their friends and don't want to see them suffer.
*** Regrettably, however, an unfortunate series of events has left Hanako fearful of Yukiko. Chie had been introducing Hanako to Yukiko, and the two were hitting it off pretty well when Terumi decided to crash the party as payback for the "Inn"-cident. She managed to match him insult for insult, before he finally lost his temper and tried to attack her outright. Before Chie could stop her, Yukiko summoned her Persona and turned Terumi into a screaming fireball. Unfortunately, the sight sent Hanako into a panic attack, and nowadays she shies away from Yukiko whenever she approaches, utterly unable to speak. Yukiko has expressed a lot of regret for this: she hadn't noticed Hanako's burns hidden under her hair, and has a sinking feeling that it was what Terumi had been planning all along.
*** On the plus side, both Chie and Yukiko find Ikezawa much more agreeable than their mortal classmate, Hanako Ohtani.
** Led by Yu, the team went out to investigate the matter of Kage, the Shadowy One who'd been expelled from Ryu, and offered their services in assisting the martial artist to accept Kage into his being. However, he refused this, citing that this Shadow wasn't a natural vice of his own like the shadows of their world, but the embodiment of an evil power associated with his martial art called the Satsui no Hado that he had faced and overcome, and accepting the Shadow would only mean trouble as Kage ''wanted'' to be accepted so it could take over him. He also mentioned something about "communicating through fists", hinting that a fight would make things clearer; naturally Chie was intrigued and agreed to spar with him. The way he fought, like he was truly enjoying himself but not consumed at all, showed that he was telling the truth. After this, Yu conceded Ryu's point that he and Kage should be left as separate beings and promised to visit again on his own before leaving the Eternal Challenger to his training. Chie hopes to square up with him again someday.
** The Investigation Team has earned the respect of, of all people, Bruce Banner. He respects their willing acceptance and harmony with their repressed subconscious jungean shadow selves and he can relate to what it's like to have to confront your subconscious repressed self. Basically, the Hulk is more or less Bruce's Shadow without actually being a Shadow. The Hulk also respects them for bravely facing up to their own dark sides and not trying to repress, demonize or "cure" them, but rather reach harmony with their Shadows.
** The Investigation Team has experienced an influx of followers due to ''Persona 4: Golden'' being released on Steam. They are happy to welcome so many that have wanted to see their story for themselves and are grateful for the Overwhelmingly Positive reviews left by both longtime followers and newcomers alike.
** In an alternate universe, the Investigation Team is led by Ren Amamiya, who's most often the leader of The Phantom Thieves of Hearts rather than Yu Narukami with Ryotaro Dojima being '''his''' uncle this go around and Naoto being a sort of frenemy to Ren.
* Exclusive to Yu:
** A former member of The Heroic Protectors of Family, he naturally gets along with them pretty well and appreciates Mary Poppins and Mufasa wanting to take care of the kids and asked the former if she could watch Nanako whenever he, Dojima or any of his friends aren't around. He is much more conflicted on Jin Kazama because of his plans on genocide even if he has a reasonable excuse for it and that he's abandoning his mother's ideals but doesn't mind him being one of them as long as he is in his best behavior. They now consider him to be a honorary member now that he's transferring. Yu is still willing to be with them and wants to help to find a candidate to replace his position and train him/her for preparation.
** The nicer counterpart of Byakuya Kuchiki, although the latter doesn't think so highly of him. Didn't stop Yu to eventually form a Social Link with him, and eventually when Byakuya was heavily wounded and needed recovery after being attacked by the Vandenreich, he entrusts that Yu can also protect things he held dear in his absence. Yu just nodded.
** Has a knack of making people, followers or gods alike calm down. This caused him to be viewed as a great ally by Bright Noah, whereas they work on in repairing wrongly placed emotions with Yu trying to calm people down, but if it fails, Bright steps in, Bright slaps, problem solved.
** Lelouch respects Yu for his protection of his younger cousin, reminding him of how much he wanted to protect Nunally. Yu wouldn't say the same thing about him as he did so much atrocities that he couldn't get along with him even if he did it for a good reason.
** He can relate to Mikasa Ackerman on what it feels like to be overprotective and the willingness to put themselves in danger to save their respective younger family members. What Yu want to change about Mikasa is how she should become her own person as she considers her entire life to revolve around Eren, hoping that forming a Social Link with her might help. [[spoiler: That might not be the case anymore. While he thinks that what Eren said to Mikasa is way too harsh, causing Yu to lose his respect of him, the wild care hopes that this will be the first step of her gaining her independence]].
** One of Yu's abilities is to summon [[Pantheon/{{Emotion}} Asura]] to aid him. While in his universe it was an unrelated sun god's avatar, the one he's gained the power to call after ascending is the same one who's rapidly risen to fame for being one of the worst gods you could possibly piss off. Asura himself gladly lends Yu and his friends his power after seeing his love for Cousin Nanako and everyone else he protects.
** Thanks to the Social Links aspect, he gets along with both Sora and Gentaro Kisaragi. Yu respects the former for his AllLovingHero attitude and even if he couldn't believe that there are some villains he could forgive, he doesn't mind the warrior for it.
** Yu has also become friends with [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Judai Yuki]], being under the impression that Judai was a Persona User. He cited Judai's [[TarotMotifs frequent comparisons to]] TheFool, his summoning of Monsters through Cards and just about anything that happened in his third year as evidence but Judai quickly denied it. Though he was quite amazed and relieved that they were very similar since becoming a NotQuiteHuman had left him with a LonelyAtTheTop complex.
** Was once contacted by Mitsuru with information on Sigma and the Maverick Virus; he'd already heard that this virus had claimed and corrupted countless androids in its home universe, so was already alert to making sure the leader of Mavericks had no chance to get near Labrys. But then she explained the tidbit she learned about and how it had tailored itself into a strain called the Zero Virus and adapted to awakening the destructive "true personality" of its namesake target. So when Sigma later revealed himself as one of the Councillors of the Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfMachines, and he and fellow GUAM Councillor Ultron [[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcomInfinite fused together with the power of the Infinity Stones]], Yu assembled the entire team with great haste to protect Labrys from anything they might try.
** Yu has only met Makoto Yuki twice, once during [[VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth the incident with Zen and Rei]], and [[VideoGame/PersonaQ2NewCinemaLabyrinth another incident involving movie based labyrinths with Hikari]]. The latter incident also allowed him to meet Makoto's [[Pantheon/GameDesign alternate female counterpart]]. Yu is able to work well with the two during both adventures.
** Has a healthy perspective on the new Wild Card holder Ren Amamiya. He doesn't fully like Ren and his group's tactics, but respects his leadership skills and loyalty to his friends and recognizes that the Nasty Crimeboy's heart is in the right place. He and Ren have started talking about finding a way to use the Metaverse as another way to unlock Personas apart from the Midnight Channel; Ren first admitted there were complications to this, then later abandoned the project after finding out that this was impossible.
*** Their first true meeting had them clash in the [[VideoGame/PersonaQ2NewCinemaLabyrinth "world of movies"]], where they initially mistook the other for an enemy. It didn't take long for the misunderstanding to be cleared up, and the two are able to work alongside Makoto and Kotone for their common goal of escaping from the Cinema.
* Exclusive to Yosuke:
** Yosuke personally relates to Hilda because of their conflicts of being forced to move to an another home and that they're finally able to adjust living their new home. Because of this, they both want to team up to help those who still didn't adjust living their new home.
** He met up with the Ninja Jiraiya and was at pause for a moment considering his Persona. Jiraiya, the God, just laughed and is willing to train Yosuke in a bit of ninjutsu since he almost thought he heard [[Pantheon/NegativeReaction Sasuke Uchiha]] when Yosuke spoke, seeing that his Persona is a ninja frog, and that his primary weapons are kunais.
*** Was very surprised and more than a little annoyed when he discovered the Toad Sage had somehow autographed his Magician Arcana. He's still trying to figure out how to get it off.
** Yosuke manages to bond the closest with Junpei Iori and Ryuji Sakamoto over their shared status as the ButtMonkey as well as being the trusted partner to their field leaders.
** Stays far away from one Amane Nishiki for two reasons. First, Amane's ways reminds him so much of that incident with Shadow Kanji. Second, the two [[Creator/YuriLowenthal sound exactly alike]], creeping him out even ''more''.
*** Ironically, it is speculated that Yosuke's relationship with Yu may be [[HoYay more than just friendship]]…
*** Met up with Ben Tennyson not long after and got along well. Ben is interested with Yosuke's Persona power, while Yosuke is in awe with the Omnitrix.
** Trains under Zoro in the art of wielding two swords at once.
** Out of everyone in the Investigation Team, he is the most dismayed to hear of [[spoiler:Adachi]]'s ascension, as [[spoiler:Adachi]] was responsible for Saki-sempai's death.
** Yosuke [[ButtMonkey unsurprisingly]] had the most difficult time with his Ultimate Persona, namely since it was the temperamental Susano'o, who came looking for him for dare using his power. Cornering him alone, a duel began between the storm god and Yosuke with Jiraiya. Yosuke was holding up admiringly if outclassed. Then Susano'o pushed his buttons regarding Saki and his failures too much. Cue Yosuke throwing everything back in the god's face before affirming his own mistakes and development. Jiraiya transformed and the battle suddenly become much more intense and even-sided, surprising the storm god. Despite this, he was gradually overwhelming Yosuke until the arrival of Yukiko with Amaterasu. Surprised to see the friendship between the two, Yosuke commented on how Susano'o himself changed. The storm god sheathed his sword before bowing with his sister and citing Yosuke as worthy. Yosuke thanked the god before nearly collapsing from exhaustion and being helped by Yukiko.
** He has an (or two) eloquent way(s) to display PottyEmergency:
-->'''[[WebComic/{{Hiimdaisy}} I HAVE TO PEEEEEE!!!!]]'''
-->'''[[WebComic/{{Hiimdaisy}} YOU GUYS! I HAVE TO PEE, SO BAD! I'M GONNA PEE,]] ''[[WebComic/{{Hiimdaisy}} RIGHT! HERE!!]]''''' [[note]]…OK, never mind.[[/note]]
** Considering the amount of flack he feels he's suffered over some of his less graceful moments, Yosuke has suited up in an attempt to prove he does possess a natural grace. The challenge he's undertaken to prove this? [[VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight Dancing.]]
** Yosuke was ecstatic to find out he'd be joining his bro Yu in a [[VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle battle]] among gods, a few to name including [[Pantheon/HeroicAttitude Ragna the Bloodedge]], [[Pantheon/NamingConvention Hyde Kido]], and [[Pantheon/CombatClothing Ruby Rose]]. But is kinda annoyed that they STILL decided to keep his title as "Captain Ressentiment".
*** Out of everyone there, he hit it off well with Makoto and Yang the most, getting along with them and being friendly. However, he was then subjected to plenty of light-hearted teasing when people realized that two girls he got along with in the tournament were also '''''very''' similar'' to [[ShipTease Chie.]]
** Despite Yosuke's often lack of respect, he often has plenty of moments to shine and indeed, in the fighting tournament where they met Labrys, it was his path that got the emphasis in the manga adaptation. He does get a little shy and sheepish when praised so earnestly.
** His friendship with Yu has become more understandable when it was revealed that like Yu, he moved around alot as a kid and did not really get the chance to befriend people. He often went with the crowd to not stick out or be ostracized. However, he notes now how grateful he is to have met his friends on the team and how they helped him. He does get teased when people point out that his first close friend was technically not Yu, but Chie.
* Exclusive to Chie:
** Chie was more than happy to be able to move in with her companions in the new temple constructed for them, especially since she gets Yukiko as a roommate.
** Spends time in the House of Justice, learning the ins and outs of law to fulfill her dream of being a police officer. She gets along with the majority of the House of Officers as they are dedicated on their jobs as police officers. The only cop she opposes is Chief Wiggum due to his incompetency and some of his bad moments as a cop.
** She is a huge fan of kung-fu movies, so much so that she practically fangirls over the masters like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Meeting them in the Pantheon is a dream come true for her and practically begged her to be her protege to be much more efficient on kung-fu as she is mostly self-taught on the art.
** Befriended Chun-Li due to being a kung-fu martial artist and a Chinese police officer. Chun-Li seems excited to meet an aspiring police officer who's main skill of combat is the same as hers. Seeing that her kung-fu techniques are mostly self-taught thanks to watching a lot of kung-fu movies, she offered Chie to be her protege to become a professional one, which the latter wholeheartedly accepted.
** Often goes to visit either Sanji or Komatsu to order a delicious steak meal and hang out. She's also trying to learn new fighting techniques too, but Sanji always rebuffs her attempts to get kicking lessons from him and Toriko, Komatsu's partner food-hunter, is never around when she comes by. In the former case it doesn't stop her from spying on Sanji when he's fighting, but she still can't figure out his Diable Jambe move for herself…
*** When it was announced that she would be participating in [[VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle a new battle tournament]], with Terumi already on the roster, Yukiko simply cracked her knuckles and said "Good. I've been itching for a rematch!"
** Because her Shadow was a {{dominatrix}}, she becomes extremely uncomfortable around [[Pantheon/BladedWeapons Isabella "Ivy" Valentine]], who happens to dress like one; and [[Pantheon/{{Personality}} Plutia]], who actually ''becomes'' one when transformed; never mind the fact that Chie and [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Noire]], who is often tasked with keeping Plutia in line, sound '''''[[Creator/ErinFitzgerald extremely similar]]''''' to one another.
** Was in joy when she was able to ascend her "master", Akihiko Sanada into the Pantheon. The two of them hang around training and eating meat whenever they can.
*** In turn, following the ascension of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, Chie would get her own "disciple" in Ann Takamaki, who looks up to her the same way she looks up to Akihiko.
** A recent visit to Komatsu and Toriko's temple saw her run into a blonde-haired delinquent somewhat similar to Kanji. Both were going there to get some great meat cooked for them. Well, steak specifically, thanks to Chie. As they talked, she discovered that the young man was Ryuji Sakamoto, part of the newest ascended Persona crew and a fellow Chariot Arcana user. They and Toriko, who was actually there this time, all made fast friends over Komatsu's six-star full-course steak meal. She then told Ryuji about Kanji while they were paying for the meal.
** Yukiko ended up introducing her to another friend from Ann and Ryuji's crew, Makoto Niijima. They bonded quickly over their dreams of being police officers.
** Chie is a little sensitive in how she regards her femininity though has relaxed better seeing plenty of amazing women who proclaim being female while being dangerous. However, it did mean she did not have any friends besides Yukiko though some point that after Yukiko, her closest friend is Yosuke, least before Yu came to town, causing her to turn red.
* Exclusive to Yukiko:
** Ascended the moment she drove away paparazzi from the family inn, all with just threats, showing her protectiveness of the inn. She is now actively petitioning for the Inn to be made into a Dominion. She and Kanji kicked off the Investigation Team's collective ascension, which was completed with Yosuke's ascension.
*** With the Investigation Team's move to a new temple, Yukiko had to resign from her position as a member of the Wayfaring Quartet. Despite this, she will always be welcomed in the House of Travel as the heiress of the Amagi Inn.
** Terumi hates her because her Persona looks like someone he utterly hated (Amaterasu). Likewise, Yukiko hates him for being an utter bastard, dissing her inn, and [[KirkSummation tells him off that all he's doing and rambling about despair and lies were nothing but like a kid throwing a tantrum because he can't get what he wants.]] That's after she let him in her inn… [[{{Troll}} and then purposely messed up the scheduling and such so Terumi didn't have a pleasant 'stay']] (like Yu, Yosuke, Kanji, and Teddie would attest from their experience in the mortal world).
** In terms of training, she tends to train with Mai Shiranui, due to [[PaperFanOfDoom their weapon of choice]], [[PlayingWithFire element]], [[YamatoNadeshiko and other]] [[Creator/AmiKoshimizu similar traits]], and she seems to think of her as a CoolBigSis. However, Yukiko flat out ''refused'' when Mai offered her some [[{{Stripperiffic}} clothing tips]], as she's really embarrassed to wear something like that.
** At one point, Yukiko decided to seriously try breaking her habit of wearing red all the time, and after much time and effort actually managed to pick out an outfit for herself without so much as a hint of it. Putting it on and looking in the mirror, she realized with a jolt she looked like ''[[Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery Homura]] [[VideoGame/Persona4Arena Akemi.]]''
** Following SHOCKER's ascension, Yukiko has stepped up her vow to protect the Amagi Inn should they try anything funny, especially since Skyrider also has a presence in this House.
** In spite of their questionable tactics, Yukiko has been convinced that the recently-ascended Phantom Thieves of Hearts are a good thing; given her previous experience with her Shadow, she actually enjoys seeing adults who succumbed to their Shadows and made others around them suffer receive abrupt wake-up calls. She's fine with the group as long as they don't try to steal anything from the Amagi Inn, and actually made good friends with the student-council president Makoto Niijima, both being within the same arcana.
*** She also becomes good friends with Haru Okumura and Yusuke Kitagawa, the former due to being a heiress and the latter due to their love for art and Cloudcuckoolander tendencies. The relationship started further when they met in a labyrinth of cinema.
** Unsurprisingly, she bonded with Amaterasu since she invokes the Sun goddess' power with her Ultimate Persona and they bonded over being sophistiated women. She quickly recruited her help when Rise informed her that Yosuke was missing and in fact being attacked by Susano'o. She arrived in time to help fend off an attack with the sun goddess. The exchange was brief as she saw Susano'o acknowledge Yosuke's power and worthiness before he left. She was a bit frustrated on how he drew trouble to him, but also incredibly relieved that he's okay. As she helped him back with to their temple, she noted her hope Amaterasu and Susano'o's friendship continued grow as hers and Yosuke's have.
* Exclusive to Kanji:
** Being the former 'counterpart' of Jin, Kanji is often involved in a fight with him. One of the things that kept him alive from Jin's barrages are the fact that he once [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu smacks a Greater God on the head with his folded chair and survives]]. [[EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas Because said God's followers were harassing his mom]]. When Jin turns good, he kept the opposition, being his 'counterpart' after all.
** Once threatened to demolish the whole House of Food because Ned served him the very wrong pie… only to quickly fix it with 'He's going to demolish it… and rebuild it twice as good. He's gonna RENOVATE HIS ASS!!!
** Trains with his Persona Take-Mikazuchi alongside Potekmin and Tager to hone his strength. Respects both men, especially Tager, who he looks up to as a pseudo-father figure.
*** Has also been seen training with Domon Kasshu and Master Asia in the art of the Shining Finger. While his version is far from perfect, it still packs quite a punch; helps in that he has [[Creator/TomokazuSeki the same voice]] as the former.
** Being in a family textile business, frequents the House of Pantheon/{{Craft}}. In fact, when Yu Narukami ascended, it was reported that he immediately rushed to that House and spent a week straight in their knitting room to make his senpai an ascension gift. Said gift was a set of dolls modeled after the Investigation Team, as well as the Shadow Operatives. He hopes that someday, the rest of the Operatives will earn their places in the Pantheon as well (the two leaders, Akihiko, Mitsuru, Junpei, Fuuka, Aigis, Yukari, Shinjiro, and Ken Amada have ascended, with Koromaru being Ken's herald and Metis still to go).
** Recently encountered Amane Nishiki when revisiting the Midnight Channel. The instant Kanji saw Amane inside the Steamy Bathhouse commenting disrespectfully towards a picture of his Shadow, his rage reached its peak and they've been fighting ever since.
** Has recently taken interest in the Anime/PrettyCure costumes, ever since he came across Erika Kurumi and sewing together. Kanji just...can't believe how cute it is, maybe like that pink alligator doll he made before. Though his more intricate side wonders what kind of material is made for such a thing, and if it's even durable enough for battle in the first place.
*** Others wonder if he can sew them unique charms for their weapons or clothing in battle; Kanji himself outright states it's far to risky to allow such delicate material he uses for his hobbies to get caught up in crossfires of various types.
** Despises Kyubey with a volcanic passion: nothing that cute has the right to be that evil. It came as a relief that they ended up gaining someone like Morgana, [[Creator/CassandraLeeMorris seems to sound alike]] [[HopeBringer but ended up being the opposite.]]
** Takakazu Abe is the one entity in the whole of creation that Kanji fears. Fears as in 'the very mention of his name can and ''will'' send Kanji screaming out of the room'. Amusingly, Takakazu is scared of Kanji, considering their first meeting ended with Kanji freaking out and blasting him with a Ziodyne.
** Even more recently was introduced by Chie to a new friend, one of the newer gang of Persona users and a muscle training and meat aficionado called Ryuji Sakamoto. Both well-meaning punks got along easily enough, and now they occasionally dabble in each other's hobbies.
*** Although, when they first met in the [[VideoGame/PersonaQ2NewCinemaLabyrinth world of movies]], they didn't start on good terms, when Ryuji mistook his attempt to pet Morgana for Kanji glaring at the former. After several awkward attempts from the team to help them get along, Kanji is finally able to prove he's not a bad person by taking a hit from a Shadow to protect Ryuji and Morgana. The two now bond over how some of the others tend to mess with them.
** Ever since they helped Shield Knight get her Persona, she's visited him often to teach him in the proper art of shield combat.
* Exclusive to Rise:
** While not a direct combatant, Rise's presence is extremely vital to many combatants, as her support is extremely invaluable. Buffs, protections, small recovery, you name it, she'll provide it... of course, the prerequisite is that you're a good person, she doesn't give her support to evil.
** As an IdolSinger, she befriended the 765 Pro, being a group of idol singers and loves how they managed to have strong bonds as time passed. She is happy to meet Hatsune Miku again, as she appeared in [[VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight her universe once]]. The virtual idol expresses the same thoughts as her and want to do a collaboration together since they didn't get the chance to do one back in Rise's universe. Rise is heartened upon hearing μ's story in that they became an idol group to save their school from shut down and that the only person who seems determined to do the job is Kotori and Honoka and that despite the hardships they face especially the other members' lack of enthusiasm, they are able to become an inspiring one since they managed to save their school and even inspired an another one to do the same as them.
** Although she's often called an 'Anti-{{Tsundere}}', she gets along real fine with Shana and the two can relate on that they fell in love with nice guys who became their first friends. Shana pities her situation for becoming an idol just to gain friends thanks to being bullied only for people to just see her as "Risette" and Rise in return wants her to gain more friends so that she wouldn't feel lonely. Of course, Shana would try to deny they're friends, but deep down, she appreciates their friendship.
** She also got along well with Noel Vermillion as Rise empathizes with Noel being constantly bullied by many, she herself as an ex-bully magnet. Their interactions together are really cute... but it's a dreaded moment when they enter the kitchen... because Rise is proud to teach Noel [[LethalChef her cooking skills as stated in her portfolio]]. If you see that... here's a word of advice... '''''run before they see you or Rise's Persona detects you'''''.
** Even though she is fine providing combat support, she wished to be able to fight alongside her friends. After the [[VideoGame/Persona4Arena P-1 Grand Prix]], she was able to unlock a new, combat-oriented version of Himiko to directly help her friends in the battlefield. Needless to say, she and [[MusicalAssassin I-No]] now have a [[LoudnessWar rivalry]] on their hands that frequently sees I-No interrupting Rise's concert rehearsals and band sessions at every opportunity. And it doesn't help that Rise [[PaletteSwap sometimes wears an outfit in her likeness just to mock her]].
*** Luckily, Rise often receives backup from Altaria and fellow NeutralGood MusicalAssassin Yurika Kirishima.
** She's outraged with [[Pantheon/{{Musicality}} Courtney Gears]] for using music to control minds, particularly robots and programs, which automatically makes Gears as much of a ShadowArchetype to Rise as the latter's [[EnemyWithout actual Shadow]]. Rise herself has stated that should Gears ever ally herself with Clu, she will co-operate with other deities to put an end to this.
*** However, Clu decided to abandon any connections with Gears due to her alliance with Alternate Gentaro. Rise is just glad that such a team-up is no longer possible.
** [[spoiler: Aided Sayaka Miki in obtaining her Persona, Oktavia, alongside the rest of the Investigation Team.]]
** Has taken [[Pantheon/WindAndAir Altaria]] under her [[{{Pun}} wing]] in order to further enhance her offensive combat skills alongside her combat support role. Should also be useful in {{Loudness War}}s against I-No. Currently, Rise is the only Persona user thus far to also have a Pokémon on her team.
** She was among the members of the Investigation Team who accompanied [[Pantheon/FanserviceAttires Tomoyo]] [[Pantheon/LoveOther Daidouji]] in her trip to the TV World (with [[Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery Sakura Kinomoto]] along for the ride despite the Team's suggestion against it), helped her face her insecurities, and her Shadow was turned into a Persona named Seshat. While this is not unusual for the team since entering the Pantheon, Rise stayed closer to the situation because Tomoyo's Persona, like Rise's, is a Sensor-type. This resulted in Rise, Fuuka, and one of the newer Persona users, Futaba Sakura, all becoming mentors to the young CameraFiend on how to use her Persona.
** In fact, she met Futaba during her journey into the labyrinth of cinema, where Futaba admired her and Fuuka for their "high school girl" energy as she called it. Rise was more than happy to help her and was pleasantly surprised to hear that future her overcame the issues that came with idols and becoming a professional musician, something that Rise fully intends to help make her future bright of.
* Exclusive to Teddie:
** After ascending, Teddie tries his best to be friends with anyone in need of one since he can relate to how they feel and wants to help them the same way the Investigation Team helped him. He's happy to live under the same roof as his companions, though he will still try to be friends with anyone who needs a friend.
** Occasionally goes to the House of Love to try "scoring" with the ladies, [[NeverLiveItDown much to Yukiko's eternal chagrin.]] Makoto Nanaya, however, finds him cuddly cute and is very okay with Teddie scoring with her. This was met with a LOT of nervous sweat and pervy urges on Teddie's part.
** Faust was pleased to hear that Teddie finally made it to the Pantheon. They meet up in the House of Combat every now and then to further improve their unpredictability in combat.
** Once went around the Pantheon dressed up as Alice. He was so convincing that once the truth got out, [[StupidSexyFlanders some male deities started questioning their sexuality.]] Belial and Nebiros are…''less'' than fond of the bear after he successfully tricked them into thinking he was the genuine article.
** A number of good aligned gods (Philemon in particular) see Teddie's ascension as a colossal "''fuck you''" to Nyarlathotep since it proves that even ''[[TheHeartless Shadows]]'' [[RousseauWasRight have the capacity to become good.]] [[UnderStatement Nyarlathotep was not pleased]].
** Of course most of the time, everyone thinks that his bear puns are just un-bear-able… GYAH! Now you GotMeDoingIt!
*** After the [[VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight Midnight Stage Incident]], Teddie is also learning how to play the turntables.
** Should the need arise, Teddie can double as MissionControl in battles. Just… don't expect much from him.
--> I hope you're '''beary''' pre'''beared''' for this un'''bearable''' '''bear''' of a battle!
** Met up with Winnie the Pooh and get along quite well. Pooh laughs at Teddie's bear puns and Teddie is more than delighted to share a pot of honey with Pooh.
*** Also '''hates''' Mr. Monokuma, as Monokuma is the complete opposite of Teddie, wanting to spread despair instead of friendship. The first time the two met, Teddie immediately froze Monokuma and his Mastermind with a Bufu spell. To quote what was heard when they met… '''[[Webcomic/{{Hiimdaisy}} "I'M GOING BEAR-ZEEEERRRRKKK!!!"]]'''
** Deeply sympathizes with Mami Tomoe's yearning for friends. Mami gets along with Teddie reasonably well, but finds his advances a bit annoying at times. Teddie finds Charlotte a kindred spirit as well, as the Dessert Witch was a [[TheHeartless being born of negativity]] that had gained sentience through her bond with Mami. She even [[spoiler: managed to regain her human form, Nagisa, in a manner much like Teddie. Teddie himself is curious to know if this means he looks like the human he spawned from]]. The two of them spend a lot of time together.
*** Also deeply sympathizes with Coyote Starrk's desire to find comrades. They can genuinely enjoy each other's company, though Starrk is somewhat annoyed with all the bear puns and Teddy often loses his patience with Starrk's [[BrilliantButLazy attitude]]. However, the Espada is perfectly willing to help him whenever things get rough, including shooting Mr. Monokuma in the face.
*** Teddie once met Goro Akechi in the World of Movies and the two get along very well, with the former calling him a nice guy. Of course, this changes when Teddie learns that Akechi is responsible for the mental shutdowns the Phantom Thieves have been investigating, and that he even [[EngineeredHeroics caused some of the cases he solved for fame]]. Teddie's opinion of him dropped severely, but he's not sure what to make of Akechi's terrible childhood or his HeroicSacrifice.
** Can also be seen hanging out with Greed since they're both [[AscendedDemon ascended monsters]] with mischievous tendencies who are ultimately driven to good by their desire for true friends. Unlike most people, Greed doesn't mind the bear puns so much since he talks about his own avarice all the time. In fact, Teddie can be seen as an occasional mascot in Greed's bar.
** Once he learnt of Labrys' ascension he rushed over to the House of Technology to declare himself her 'Knight' in front of all the other gods.
** Despair was felt by some of his friends once it was learned he was being tutored on puns by Ms. Fortune. Their friendship goes deeper than that, partly since Fortune sympathises with him because of her having lost friends and moved on.
** Has become friends with Enju Aihara since she also wanted to have friends like him. He also pities her because of her disease [[spoiler:that is slowly transforming her into a monster]].
** The Master is something of a sore spot for him after the Immortality Gate Incident, even after its resolution. Teddie and Marie, being a Shadow and a goddess respectively, were immune to the Gate's effect, but their human friends — all seven of them — were not, and were briefly turned into clones of the Master, thus forcing Teddie and Marie to fight their friends to stay alive until the transformation was reversed.
** Teddie accompanied Greed to a party being hosted by Greed's friend [[Pantheon/NiceAndNasty Asami Sato]] in honor of [[Pantheon/{{Despondency}} Avatar Korra]]'s transfer to a new more fitting seat in the Pantheon. He repeatedly tried to flirt with [[Pantheon/MannersOfDeath Shizuku Ashuu]], [[Pantheon/ExtrovertFlaws Nana Habutae]], and even Korra and Asami, only to be rebuffed each time.[[note]]Shizuku told him to get lost, Nana almost bit until Shizuku protectively pulled her away, Korra kindly but firmly told him she was taken, and Asami, while having no intention to accept, was willing to humor him until the bear puns started.[[/note]] Haruka and Michiru took Teddie aside and explained that the girls he was trying to "score with" were together like they are, and his cheap flirtations gave way to wholesome curiosity which was much better appreciated. When Greed was asked to stay behind after the party, Teddie called Yu and the Team to take him home.
** Apparently [[https://youtu.be/DwBOqjywkPw has his own "program" in the Midnight Channel]].
* Exclusive to Naoto:
** Having grown up solving cases, she became known as the Detective Prince at a young age. She originally felt the need to disguise herself as a boy because the Police Force was a male dominated field, and thus believed she wouldn't be taken seriously because of her gender. This all changed when she met the Investigation Team, who helped her to become more confident in herself. She's very happy to be able to live alongside her friends in the Pantheon in a new temple.
** Naoto admires and befriended her former co-holder Kyoko for her air of maturity, who in turn is also impressed with Naoto's 'Persona' powers. Also because they carry a cool aura and an air of mystery. That is, Kyoko [[spoiler:actually being an SHSL Detective]] and Naoto being female (Kyoko found out about Naoto's secret when she entered the bathroom). However, they usually let that slide whenever they are solving a case.
** Hideri Kanzaki immediately befriended her after hearing how she crossdressed so that she wouldn't face sexism in the police force. Besides, he also became a crossdresser for personal reasons in the first place and couldn't blame her for it.
** [[TheAce She's a good enough detective that]] the Public Security Bureau comes to her for help and ''trusts her with a sidearm'' (in a country that has incredibly strict gun-control laws). On top of that, she has excellent marksmanship, is a certified genius-level intellect, has looks that make boys and girls of all sexualities swoon [[spoiler:both ''before AND after'' her gender reveal]] (and even won a school beauty pageant by ''bailing on it''), plays the piano, [[https://imgur.com/vpsKYzw is a confident cyclist]], [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and is actually a pretty good cook]]. She's terrible at skiing, though.
** Conan respects Naoto Shirogane's skill as a detective, as well as being another teenage detective who can match his skill and how she continues the Shirogane family line of detectives. He feels bad for how she felt the need to cross-dress as a boy because of sexism in the police force and how her age would make people ignore her. He is proud to hear that she started to express her femininity more often and become much more open to others, starting with her friends in the Investigation Team. The two often discuss their favorite mystery novels as they read the genre growing up and try to recommend to each other similar books of the genre that they think should be read. At Conan's urging, she has begun reading his father's mystery novels.
*** After the [[VideoGame/Persona4DancingAllNight Midnight Stage incident]], she's also learning how to play the violin, courtesy of Sherlock Holmes, a detective she admired as she mostly grew up reading detective literature and watching boyish shows. Realizing that they have some similarities such as being extremely lonely until they gained friends they cared for and having no need for romance, they became fellow detective partners ever since. She also has respect for Holmes's assistant, John Watson and likes that he's asking the important serious questions and his willingness to listen when people around her are silly to not take her seriously.
** Respects Phoenix Wright's determination to search for the truth, especially that one case of his where he's willing to put his defender in jail after realizing that he is guilty. Though she is always baffled that most of his accusations and evidences are merely bluffing.
** Naoto has approached [[Pantheon/{{Alcohol}} Soda Popinski]] and asked that he make sure that Rise, Teddie, and Yukiko never go near his soda. She told him of how they all got inebriated ''purely by thinking that they were'', and since Popinski has a similar effect with his drinks, nothing short of disaster (and [[HilarityEnsues hilarity]]) could ensue. Yu has shown his support for this by refusing to have any of it either after [[Anime/Persona4TheAnimation his attempt to simply play the part at the time]].
** During the events of ''Fanfic/ViennaBurning'', she and Kyoko were sent to the mortal plane to apprehend whomever was blowing up parts of Austria. [[spoiler:Which turned out to be Kotonoha. The two of them hate her after seeing what she was capable of doing, which included blowing up several major towns in Austria, becoming a serial killer, and plunging the entire nation into a state of emergency.]]
** Despite [[Literature/PersonaXDetectiveNaoto that timeline]] [[CanonDiscontinuity no longer considered canon]] ([[FanonDiscontinuity by fans and creators alike]]), Naoto has been gifted by Igor the Persona she got there, Amatsu-Mikaboshi. Of course, the real one wasn't amused with that and the two were instant enemies after that.
** Naoto has been curious about [[VideoGame/Persona5 a recent series of thefts]], and mysterious wave of [[HeelFaceTurn 'changes of heart']] in the Pantheon. She is investigating them, and has noticed some very familiar aspects to them.
*** Upon their ascension, she did have misgivings for what they do, but ultimately — thanks to Yu as well as hearing of the circumstances the [[Pantheon/{{Thieves}} Phantom Thieves of Hearts]] — was able to get along with them. They on their part were somewhat awed to see just who the original Detective Prince was and they all (Naoto included) agree that she's definitely more fitting of the title than its "successor", Goro Akechi. She and Ann Takamaki in particular have made surprisingly good friends.
*** Her opinion on her so-called Second Advent is that he's a disgrace. Before learning the truth about him, they got along pretty well, with Naoto considering it a great honor and Akechi respecting her greatly. Naoto's opinion of him dropped severely when she learned of his actions. Alignment aside, he just worked for popularity while she genuinely wanted to help other people. Also, his personality is almost [[CompositeCharacter a mix of hers and]] [[spoiler:Adachi's]], and the latter isn't amused by that either. However, even she has trouble what to think about [[DarkAndTroubledPast his undeniably horrible childhood]] after being abandoned by his [[spoiler:illegitimate father, Masayoshi Shido]], or [[spoiler:his apparent sacrifice for the Phantom Thieves to stop his father]].
** While she was busy [[VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle crossing fate]], she got along with the likes of [[Pantheon/NamingConvention Hyde Kido]] (who hopes to control his power), [[Pantheon/FightingStyles Orie Ballardiae]] (thanks to Naoto's profession and Orie's belief in justice), [[Pantheon/BodyImages Noel Vermillion]] (who are both shy gun-wielding girls), and [[Pantheon/OffensivePowers Weiss Schnee]] ([[InnocentlyInsensitive despite Naoto calling her]] [[BerserkButton the Ice Queen]]).

* Enemies: [[Pantheon/{{Philosophy}} Amon]] (Andou and Sayumi), [[Pantheon/ValuesAndEthics Ghetsis]] (Andou)
* Admires: [[Pantheon/PowerAndAbilities Miyabi]] (Andou)
* What would happen if you were to give a chuunibyou, a former chuunibyou, an air-head, a former perfectionist and a grade schooler superpowers? Surprisingly, not much. When the Literature Club got their powers, they decided to keep them a secret from the world and aside of encountering one or two other superhumans, nothing special came from it.
* Andous power is called ''Dark and Dark'', what allows him to generate a violet-black flame on his right arm... and that's about it. The flame is lukewarm at best, cannot be thrown at anything, it probably doesn't even generate light. Utterly useless outside of coolness factor, which he is fine with.
** [[spoiler:Its awakened form, ''Dark and Dark of the End'', on other hand, can actually be used in combat, as it is actually hot and can be used as a projectile... if it wasn't for the fact that it hurts the user when they use it, and the fact that it is an eternal, burning flame what cannot be extinguished by any means (even [[PowerParasite stealing]] away his powers won't solve it), forcing one to amputate their own arm to get rid of it. Meaning that it is a threat to any one it touches, including the user itself.]]
* Andou ends to be really hammy with his actions due of being an incurable chuunibyou, and tends to always sound ominous and dark, something what can be somewhat annoying. However, he is actually rather intelligent. Above average grades, master of AlternateCharacterReading, has wide array of normally useless knowledge (even if its mainly due of coolness factor), can give out surprising words of wisdom, and when put on a shove, he can pull out rather good gambles.
* Andou has been noted to [[Creator/NobuhikoOkamoto sounding like]] [[Pantheon/PowerAndAbilities Accelerator]] and [[Pantheon/{{Weapons}} Rin Okumura]]. Ironically, since he lost the SuperpowerLottery, where as Accelerator won it hard, and Rin can actually generate real flames. He tends to get along with Rin, though not so with Accelerator. Rin even thinks that the reason why Andou's flames are just for show is because [[PersonalityPower he isn't a type of guy to harm any one]].
* Andou gets along with Alice due of both [[MrImagination having wild imagination]], and Andou being good with kids thanks to Chifuyu. Though he tends to avoid Liddell.
** He also gets well with Yotsuba and Osaka, due of rather wild imagination. He also hangs around with Eko, thinking that her powers are similar to Chifuyu. Though he admits that he would rather not play "battle".
* Andou hates Amon due of his plans of sealing superpowers away. He also hates Ghetsis for same thing, and that he wants to do that because he wants to be the only one to have Pokémon. In fact, [[Creator/NobuhikoOkamoto due of his voice]] he tends to dislike [[Anime/PersonaTrinitySoul a certain Persona user]] who can [[DePower separate the Persona from their user]].
* [[InconsistentSpelling No one is really sure if his first name is Jurai or July]]. Though it is definitely not Judai. As in, [[Pantheon/{{Luckiness}} Judai Yuki]], Bearer of [[TheSacredDarkness Gentle Darkness]].
* Tomoyo's power is called ''Closed Clock''. While it doesn't allow her to rewind time, it allows her to speed up, slow down or outright stop time as she pleases.
* While there are plenty of time controllers in the Pantheon, Tomoyo only has really befriended Gasper due the fact that there aren't many good time controllers. Some gods wonder if she might someday learn the power to rewind time.
* As much as she hates to admit it, Tomoyo is a former chuunibyou. The reason why she stopped being one was after [[spoiler:''Andou'' said that she should stop that. Which in return turned Andou into one.]] That being said, she isn't completely over that, as she tends to sometimes slip back into her past behaviour for time to time.
** [[spoiler:For example, she does want to become a light novel author, but she wants to keep it a secret. Which is why she has a bond with Mirai, as she is also bit embarrassed about her writing career, at least to the rest of the Crimson Squad]].
* Tomoyo seems to sympathize with Imu as both of them are concern about their siblings, who are social shut-ins. [[spoiler:If only she knew that her brother is doing plenty of stuff right under her nose. Especially keeping the Literature Club out of actual confrontations with other superpowered humans]].
* Tomoyo begrudgingly has an alliance with Shana as Tomoyo does indeed like Andou, she is just unable to really admit her feelings to him. And no, she wants that love story to have a happy ending. Shut up [[Pantheon/MonsterTypes Merona]]. It doesn't matter if you two sound the same.
* Hatoko's power is called ''Over Element'', which allows her to control fire, water, wind, earth and light. She can even mix her powers up to control other aspects of nature like using fire and earth to create magma.
** Unfortunately, unlike her friends who can use their powers [[MundaneUtility in more mundane fashion]], Hatoko's powers are too powerful to be used normally.
* Hatoko has been seen training her elemental abilities with Aang and Korra, hopefully to find a common purpose to her powers. Though some gods want to joke that while it took quite a while for Aang and Korra to gain their powers, Hatoko got them basically from a silver platter.
* If there is one thing Hatoko wishes she would erase from her history, it would be her [[DidYouThinkICantFeel frustration-induced rant]] forwards Andou. Maybe not for the rant itself but [[MisaimedFandom how other people took it]]. Her rant was due of her not getting Andou's chuunibyou speech and attitude, as she really does want to understand him. Heck, when she is told by another person she is not supposed to understand him, she took it rather well. But no, people think she is saying that forwards chuunibyou in general, even if Andou's chuuni attitude is his biggest ''strength''.
* Hatoko sympathises with Houki and Lingyin as she also wishes that Andou would pick her over the other as his lover, even once trying to actively trying to make him fall for her, which didn't work that well (though he did ensure that she is someone special for him).
* Hatoko seems to get along with other rose-haired goddesses like Alisa and Heart Aino. She seems to want to help out Heart with her cooking in particular.
* Sayumi possesses a power named ''Route of Origin'', what allows her to return anything to its original state. What does one mean by that? Well, like healing wounds and fixing clothing, to teleporting backwards, to being able to outright recover missing people to recover a group to its full cast. This also possibly includes {{Necromancy}}, but she has promised to '''never''' use her powers for that.
** Note that her definition of "origin" of something also places limiters to her powers. For example, she could DePower someone if she doesn't see this being their natural state... but her powers fail to work if she sees the powered form being the person's natural state.
* Sayumi's ascension brought a lot of attention from gods from GUAG, making them talk about a lot of ways she could help them, like removing powers from GUAE members or even recovering powers from some other gods who lost them. However, the constant pestering from them almost made Sayumi break down if it wasn't for Andou stepping in and [[WhatTheHellHero calling everyone out]], saying that only person who can ultimately decide on how to use her powers is Sayumi. Sayumi was rather surprised by his comment, but also grateful.
* Sayumi once visited Miki to have a nice talk with her. She says that she admires her for seeking perfection without going crazy, with Sayumi having the idea that "there is no such thing as perfection, but it doesn't hurt to seek for it" (note that she used to be bit insane with perfectionism, but got better). However, she also reminded her that she doesn't need to always be perfect, quoting something what her grandmother used to say:
-->''"Become a proper woman. Then, you'll surely find someone who tells you it's okay not to be proper"''
* Surprisingly, Sayumi likes to visit House of Sports due the fact that she is master at karate. There was one time when Rize popped out of nowhere and pointed her with her Glock... only for Sayumi in instinct disarm and put her in an arm lock. She did apologized to her after that.
* Sayumi would really like if you weren't call her cute. She tends to [[HighPressureEmotion react rather noticeably]] if someone calls her that.
* Sayumi seemed to have gained some admiration from Xenovia. Where Xenovia is [[DumbMuscle a bruiser with little knowledge]], Sayumi is [[GeniusBruiser bruiser with a lot of knowledge]]. And where Xenovia wants to become a StudentCouncilPresident, Sayumi was one at middle school and aimed to be one in high school before gaining her powers. [[Creator/RisaTaneda There is one more thing]].
* Some gods have said outright that [[HopelessSuitor Sayumi has no chance of getting Andou if she wanted to]] due of not having any of the flags triggered in time. Most of them have tasted [[TalkToTheFist of her bare fist]] with her saying that if he falls for her, then good, but if not, then fine. She doesn't want anyone to tell her anything about it. And she definitely doesn't need any help getting him.
* Chifuyu's power is called ''World Create'', what allows her to create anything from thin air from small scale stuff like costumes and spears, to larger scale stuff like entire tennis courts and possibly mechas. She can also use her powers to warp space, creating pocket dimensions and portals to other places. She can possibly even [[CreatingLife create life]], but she promised to '''never''' use her powers for that.
** However, some gods called her out on the last part due of her possibly creating ''[[Anime/KillLaKill Life Fiber]]'' on few occasions, which is technically alive. She had a bit of a breakdown before Andou tried told her that she didn't know any better.
* Where Chifuyu can potentially be really powerful goddess, she is usually not motivated enough to really use her powers to its fullest. We are talking about a girl who either gets 100 or 0 at any test, based on how motivated she is.
* Chifuyu is sometimes seen in House of Craft as some gods want to improve her abilities regarding finer points of the objects. Though most of the time, [[MundaneUtility they want her to make stuff for future use]]. She doesn't mind, but she does require quite a bit of tutoring on what certain things are.
* Chifuyu is usually seen carrying around a squirrel plush called Lissun. Where she is not really depended on it and worst she gets is use it as a hand puppet when grumpy, [[http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/847/531/c50.gif she can lose confidence in seconds without it]].
* Besides being a TokenMiniMoe, [[EnsembleDarkhorse Chifuyu is unusually popular in West]] of the archetype. Mainly due the fact that she is stoic, smart enough to poke fun of Andou. [[NoYay Though her affection forwards him can be bit off-putting]].
* [[Pantheon/FieldsOfMagic Edward Elric]] is bothered by Chifuyu due the fact that she can create practically anything without giving anything in return. Well, what is apparent, that is.

* Applejack was one of The Mane Six who ascended all at once when ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' exploded into being, earning her first spot in the house of food as the Goddess of Apples. After sealing Discord away, Applejack stepped down to serve as herald for [[Pantheon/MealsAToM Johnny Appleseed]], who proved to be a better representative of it than she.
** However, after some debate, she was given a honorary title in the House of Mentalism to represent EraSpecificPersonality.
*** While none of her predecessors are technically allowed in her spot due to them not being "nearly as popular", for some reason, other gods like to tease Applejack with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84PZbL_-jjU this song]] from her original counterpart... which barely even applies to her anyway only because of circumstances.
** Eventually, because of that, her claim on the trope proved tenuous as well, but another trope was swiftly found for her: InstantKnots. The reason is because as a frequent user of the lasso, Applejack is an expert with it and is often seen using one (or improvising one if she isn't carrying any rope). And if she can score a hit with it, it always knots instantly. She also seems able to tie it to ''herself'' instantly (so that she can wield it using her mane or tail). It's not exactly the most elegant of transfers (especially since it means going to the House of ''Weapons''), but she ain't complainin' if it gets her to stay.
** Luckily for her, a more fitting trope came about in HonestyAesop. As the Element of Honesty in an long-running Aesop driven work, she had so many to her name it's become a RunningGag that they CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot if they listened her advice and were just honest. She leapt at the chance for the new title and was quickly granted it, InstantKnots seeming like a placeholder in retrospect. At this point she's now expressing the desire to make a proper Honesty sub-house.
* Back when she was stationed there, AJ for her part was disgusted by the lack of lights in the House of Mentalism. "How can anypony do any thinkin' if it's so gosh darn dark?" As of such, she has gone about enlisting the help of Twilight to install lights through the whole building at key points. So far, the only room untouched by her project is the council room, but that's to be expected.
* Before you ask, her stetson isn't actually a family heirloom. One of her closets at home (and her temple).is ''filled'' with replacements.
* While she's unable to lie convincingly to save her own life, that doesn't mean she's incapable of falsehood. Omissions are her only method for this.
* Is both happy and dismayed at the ascension of her little sister and her friends. Happy in that she has family to talk to in the Pantheon now, but dismayed by the fact several irate gods and goddesses visit her temple constantly to complain about the Cutie Mark Crusaders' schemes in getting cutie marks. Needless to say, she and Rarity are [[INeedAFreakingDrink frequent patrons at]] [[Pantheon/{{Food}} Moe's Tavern]].
** However, now that Apple Bloom has received her Cutie Mark, Applejack has never been so proud of her little sister, especially since the Cutie Mark Crusaders now reside in the House of Prophecy instead of Ambiguity (she thanks Ralph for keeping an eye out on them though). Things were different with Gangrel and Luna Vachon as she personally went to see them herself. There, she honestly stated that she was happy for the two for taking care of them and has offered them rounds of apple cider on the house. And of course she came to know their new friends The New Day as well.
* She and Rainbow try not to be in the same room as [[Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives Hansel and Gretel]]. It's mostly due to the fact that Hansel sounds so ''similar'' to them.
* With some support, Applejack was the one who commissioned the House of Pantheon/{{Personality}}, being unable to deal with the schemers in the House of Mentalism.
* She ''politely'' declined an offer from [[Pantheon/AfterlifeEntities Ryuk]] for a Manga/DeathNote in exchange for a lifetime supply of apples, while resolving to ''never'' touch a Death Note.
* Gets along with Wonder Woman for being kickass girls and advocates of honesty.
* On her off-days, she goes over to John Marston's temple/ranch in the House of Ambiguity as it reminds her of Sweet Apple Acres. John was surprised to hear a talking horse, while his wife and son doted on her. She's always welcome there.
** Deadpool once dared the two of them to ride together. Both felt embarrassed but tried it anyway. [[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain Afterwards, they swore to never tell anyone about it]].[[https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2013/8/5/391793__safe_applejack_human_crossover_riding_artist-colon-modern-dash-warmare_red+dead+redemption_john+marston.jpeg Unfortunately, this was Deadpool they were talking about…]]
* One day, [[VideoGame/ThemsFightinHerds a young calf named Arizona]] approached Applejack and, out of all things, asked the farmpony to train her. Though a bit befuddled by the request, Applejack decided to go ahead with it.
* Having encountered the Flim Flam Brothers several times, she despises all malicious con artists, and has extreme difficultly in trusting more ambivalent ones such as [[Pantheon/MotivationsForHeroism Leverage Consulting and Associates]].
* Ever since the ascension of Ronald [=McDonald=], and by extension the establishment of the [=McDonald's=] franchise all over the Pantheon, Applejack now has another headache to take care of; the fact that one of their food items has the same shorthand as the name of her and Apple Bloom's eldest brother; Big Mac(intosh). Especially since it gives room for puns to be thrown at her family.
* One day [[Pantheon/CombatClothing Carcano M1891]], with her sister Carcano M91/38 in tow, approached Applejack for some advice. Mainly for Ceno on being a bit more honest, given that she's a [[CompulsiveLiar Compulsive]] BadLiar.
* Some folks find it ironic that [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS6E11ApplejacksDayOff an expert farmer like her needed the help of her friends to learn how to optimize certain routines in her farm]]. On the other hoof, [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E11FamilyAppreciationDay this is a pony whose grandmother sings to water cans while wearing a bunny suit in order to make zap apple jam]].
* As for why she values honesty so much, [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS6E23WhereTheAppleLies here's the story why]]. Essentially, a white lie she made snowballed to nigh-uncontrollable levels that nearly put her not-at-all-sick Granny Smith on a surgery table before she fessed up. It's also a reason why Macintosh [[TheQuietOne doesn't speak much]].
* [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS7E9HonestApple After the last time she was asked to help judge on a fashion show]], she's made it clear that her opinions in fashion cannot be wholly relied upon for this kind of task. She doesn't understand why Rarity, who should know this from the ''numerous'' times they've interacted with one another (enough for those with ShippingGoggles to perceive them as a potential couple), ever thought that was a good idea in the first place.

* {{Foil}} to: [[Pantheon/{{Officers}} Cole Phelps]] (Nick only)
* Nick Sax is a cop-turned hitman with an addiction to alcohol and drugs whose life is a mess. Happy is a small blue cartoon unicorn with an energetic disposition and the imaginary friend of Hailey, a little girl. Together, they navigate the gritty crime-filled cesspool that is New York City during Christmastime to search for Hailey (who happens to be Nick’s daughter) and fight all sorts of shady characters to get her back (and go on further adventures after rescuing her). For how much of a strange pairing it may be, that little cartoon unicorn might just be the one to help get Nick’s life back on track.
* A prolonged period of time has passed since what happened at Mr. Sonny’s Easter Eggstacular and Happy, with the knowledge that Nick was still alive, traveled somewhere and ended up in a place that looked familiar to New York, but at the same time wasn’t really New York. As he went around the city, he discovered that it was part of a place known as the Pantheon and that it was much bigger than Happy could have imagined. As he eavesdropped on the conversations made by denizens of the Pantheon, he learned of the nature of that place and how things were both good and bad there. After some time, he managed to find Nick and was relieved to know that Nick was alive, even if the latter is a bit bewildered to see Happy again at first. In any case, with how much trouble happens in the Pantheon, the two have continued to investigate the troubles that occur within the place, with the pair often getting into their own set of troubles during such.
* It’s rather easy to see surface-level similarities between this crime-fighting duo and another one consisting of Eddie Valiant and Roger Rabbit. Eddie and Nick function as hard-headed detectives going through a hard time in their life while Happy and Roger serve as their peppy cartoon sidekick helping them with their mission and trying to improve their human friend’s disposition while at it. In terms of the severity of the crimes both duos went up against, Eddie and Roger had to deal with a potential genocide of toons while Eddie and Nick went through a lot of bloody events involving child kidnapping, drugs, and possible psychological damage amid all of it. Both parties learned quite a bit about the other, with Happy and Roger getting along rather easily and Eddie giving Nick some advice on how to improve in the long run. Nick and Happy also learned about Judge Doom and The Dip through Eddie and Roger, with Doom being a psychotic toon who wants to wipe out all other toons to build a highway of his own and The Dip being a weapon that can kill toons, Happy very likely included. Both Nick and Happy knew that going up against Judge Doom would require different methods to take him down, with the Judge being very annoyed at seeing a duo too similar (even with certain traits exaggerated) to Eddie and Roger and looking to take them down once Eddie and Roger are out of the way.
* Another unusual duo dedicated to looking into weird events was Sam and Max, who found the idea of an alcoholic cop-turned-hitman and a unicorn working together strange enough to look further into. Both Nick and Happy ended up encountering Sam and Max at different points in time and the similarities in how they get caught up in bizarre adventures and how they are less than sane in a number of ways even if they’re willing to engage in heroics wasn’t lost on both parties. Whereas Sam is more sane compared to the hyperactive Max, but is willing to let the latter loose whenever Justice is involved, Happy is quite energetic, but often has to make sure the cynical and violent Nick doesn’t lose his way. Whenever both duos aren’t involved with going after crime (sometimes with the other involved), they sometimes patake in poker games with each other, which often takes a turn for the weird depending on who else they’re playing with.
* Very Bad Santa, a deranged psychopath who is dressed up like Santa Claus and kidnapped Nick’s daughter, was a major enemy of Nick and Happy during the duo’s first Christmas together and the Pantheon featured a selection of other horrifying Santas for Nick and Happy to contend with. Whereas Very Bad Santa was ultimately grounded in reality for the most part when it came to criminal actions, the evil Santas in the Pantheon were much more fantastical, but no less deadly in terms of what they’re capable of. While Robot Santa Claus was enough of a problem already given how he’s willing to shoot anyone he deems naughty (which is to say a lot of people), it was SCP-4666 and his penchant for torture and mutilation that was a bigger issue for Nick and Happy given how his line of work is just as bad, if not worse, than that of Very Bad Santa.
* Aside from Very Bad Santa’s weird quirks, that fact remains that he is a child kidnapper and lobotomized his victims, something he intended to do with Hailey. There were plenty of other child kidnappers and criminals present in the Pantheon for Nick and Happy to contend with, with a good number of them being even more horrifying than what the duo were used to. The 456 was a group of aliens who kidnap children to use them as recreational drugs, something that horrified Happy to a greater level than lobotomizing victims to be mentally children forever and Nick found them to be extremely irritating. As for actual human criminals, Nick found The Slavers to be rather reminiscent of some criminals he’s gone up against prior, but far more extreme. Nick has often thwarted the trio’s attempts at causing damage to the Pantheon, with Happy eavesdropping on The Slaver’s conversations (often with an uneasy look on his face) to learn what their next plan of action is.
* Nick used to be an effective detective, but things quickly turned sour for him for a multitude of reasons and has since become a hitman, but has crossed paths with his former detective partner to get to the bottom of the shared crime they’re going after. Two particular detectives who could understand Nick’s personal issues were Rust Cohle and Marty Hart given their own problems they had to contend with in addition to being detectives. Rust’s daughter died in a car accident, leading to a divorce and he became an alcoholic and holds a very cynical view of the world while Marty found a suspect who indulged in child slavery and killed said suspect despite the suspect not having involvement in a particular murder. While there was plenty about Nick that the duo found strange (especially the part about his partner being a cartoon unicorn), Rust and Marty were generally understanding of Nick and he has sometimes worked with the two in cracking down cases every now and then.
** Speaking of flawed detectives, Cole Phelps and Nick Sax could be considered opposites of each other in many ways. While both have gone through a lot of turmoil in the present related to their professions, Cole largely remained a good detective despite having a checkered past whereas Nick used to be a good detective in the past before things went downhill for him. Given how much Cole has been trying to make up for his mistakes, he’s been hoping that Nick will do the same, particularly since Nick’s current attitude leaves a lot to be desired.
* One thing that Nick has a fondness of is alcohol and even his attempts to go cold turkey during his attempts to try and be a good parent to Hailey didn’t work (though the fact that he took trace amounts of alcohol via breath freshener was an indication that him giving up on alcohol wasn’t going to stick at all). There were plenty of other alcoholics of varying temperaments in the Pantheon for Nick to hang out with whenever he isn’t going up against criminals of some kind. Nick has managed to find plenty of places that serve alcohol in the Pantheon and while he is willing to maintain a conversation with the more friendly alcoholics, the bars that Nick visits will sometimes end up getting involved in a fight, often by criminals who attempt to disrupt the peace for their own fun.
* Despite Hailey being Nick’s daughter, his personal problems, on top of not knowing about her existence until Happy told him about her, has led to problems arising after Nick rescuing (and this is not getting into a whole other set of problems Hailey’s mother had to go through). This led to a lot of benevolent parents feeling that Nick’s flaws were obvious enough that he had to try harder than he is at the moment to overcome them and really be a good parent towards Hailey. As for abusive parents, given how Nick encountered an individual who murdered his own wife and baby (going so far as to microwave the latter) and violently attacked the perpetrator, he has a lot of problems with parents in the Pantheon who are abusive/murderous towards their own children. While he certainly won’t hesitate to go after the more “mundane” bad parents, those with supernatural traits of some kind are going to be another thing entirely.
* Beyond just being Nick’s closest companion, Happy was ultimately someone who did the best he could to try and rebuild Nick’s messy life, even if nasty crimes happen around them. Jiminy Cricket, who has followed Pinocchio with the intention of helping the latter understand right and wrong while working his way to become a real boy, took interest in another individual who tried to play conscience for someone else and he ended up learning a lot more than what he bargained for upon meeting Happy. Happy bore witness to a lot of dark things such as child kidnappings, alcoholism, sex, and violence, concepts that disturbed Jiminy and Happy added that there’s a lot happening that it’s difficult for Nick to at least be what he was before he became who he is currently. It took a bit of time for Jiminy to fully understand what Happy was talking about (especially since Happy is talking about hanging out with a grown man instead of a young boy), but understood that if Happy were to continue helping out Nick to the best of his abilities, then there will be some progress made even if it’s not huge steps forward. In some ways, Jiminy has been a confidant for what Happy deals with, even if the subject matter continues to be disturbing to the cricket.
* As an imaginary friend, Happy was interested in seeing others in the Pantheon that fulfilled a similar role he did, even if what happened among such others were very different. This led him to meet the quartet of Bloo, Wilt, Eduardo, & Coco, all of whom were part of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, a place where imaginary friends can stay when they outlive their creator. The quartet was welcoming of Happy, especially since he had quite a bit going for him as an imaginary friend and being a hyperactive blue unicorn made by a little girl, but was very surprised to learn that not only Happy accompanies a grizzled adult, but that what the unicorn went through was much more extreme than anyone involved with the residence could have imagined, up to and including hearing about almost every imaginary friend in his world dying as a result of a loss of innocence by those who imagined him (to put it lightly).
* Happy ended up meeting God (or at least a version of him), who was described as an imaginary friend of an entire civilization and gave Happy some motivation to keep going in spite of the terrible things that happened prior to that encounter. Learning that the Pantheon had different versions of God was quite a bit for Happy to take in, though he did meet a different version of that figure and while he noticed the benevolence was largely the same, that version of God was not without his flaws that Happy noticed. In any case, knowing what Happy had gone through and how things aren’t going to settle down anytime soon, that God has added onto the advice that “the voice from the clouds” (as he referred to the God who Happy met before) and in turn, Happy managed to find a good conversation partner.

* Complicated Relationship with: [[Pantheon/{{Mentalism}} The Mob]] (Ruby more than Tom)
* When a young female rabbit named Ruby woke up in a coffin-like locker, she had no memory of where she was or how she got there, and so set out not only to find the answers, but also to escape. She quickly ran into Tom, who was in a similar situation (though in his case, he was locked in a cage). Together, the two would perform puzzles, fight horrible abominations, and try to escape the massive underwater complex they came to realize they were trapped in. This place was known simply as The Metal Glen, [[spoiler:which turned out to be some kind of medical facility that DugTooDeep and apparently woke up an EldritchAbomination.]]
** After much strife and near-death encounters, they finally managed to escape from the Metal Glen, riding to the mainland on an automated tram, and with a third party with them -- an unfortunate bird named Jay. To their surprise, though, the mainland was not the mainland they had any memory of. In fact, they quickly realized that they had unknowingly gone through a portal (which appeared too suddenly for them to initially notice) that led to a place called The Pantheon. They were greeted by a group of powerful beings. Initially, they were worried, but the group soon helped them realize they weren't in danger here. One trip to the Court of the Gods later, and Ruby and Tom were given a title as residents of this new world. They had dealt with some crazy things back in the Glen, but this took the cake!
** They were told they would need heralds -- allies from their world -- and they picked Jay as their first. When they were told some of their old, deceased friends from the Glade could be brought back to life for the purpose of heraldry, they instantly picked Bella (who they decided deserved some happiness in the form of freedom), and then Red (the first person to really help them in the Glen), and finally Stitches (who saved Tom's life, likely at the expense of his own). Of course, all three of them had to have certain physical and psychological issues to attend to. Some of these were already fixed upon resurrection in the House of Pantheon/LifeAndVitality -- namely, Red was calmer now than he was the last time Ruby and Tom encountered him, Bella didn't have her cybernetic forced life support, and Stitches was more mentally put together and didn't have that second toothy maw -- but their experiences in the Glen certainly left scars, same as Ruby, Tom, and Jay. Ultimately, though, the newly-resurrected trio felt safer here, especially Bella, who was no longer stuck to a machine. She was finally on the surface -- well, '''a''' surface, but it was certainly better than being stuck in the complex, so close to freedom but never being able to get up there. [[PetTheDog For the first time in years, she was genuinely happy]].
* The Villager, Tom Nook, and Isabelle were told that "Tom and Ruby have been ascended". When they went to greet them at their new temple, they were surprised to find a rabbit and cat who, while bearing some similarities to the animal villagers they knew by those names, were still quite different. Ruby and Tom were happy to see some familiar faces, but whenever they look at Tom Nook, they get flashbacks to their encounters with Subject 6 [[spoiler:(or rather, Subject 5)]]. They have said that Mr. Nook looks like a healthier (if overweight) and un-mutated version of the creature.
* Having survived a facility full of mutated, misshapen horrors, they found they had plenty in common with the likes of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy. The BSAA agents have promised that if Ruby and Tom ever encounter some such horrors again, they need only call. Of course, this new alliance resulted in Wesker considering the pair another set of enemies to "take care of". The feeling is mutual; Wesker, and anyone else who would willingly create horrific monsters like the ones they had encountered, are at the top of their shitlist.
** Another person they felt a kinship with was Chell, who was trapped in a strange, abandoned facility to complete puzzles and tests under the watch of [=GLaDOS=]. It is a bit difficult to communicate with Chell, though, seeing as she's a SilentProtagonist and all.
** The mad scientist they hate the most would have to be Shou Tucker; to have created a pair of Chimeras ''using his own wife and daughter'', '''and all for a goddamn grant''', reminded the pair too much of the doctors responsible for what happened at the Metal Glen.
** A close second for "most hated mad scientist" would have to be Team Fortress's Medic, [[spoiler:Mr. Ludwig]]. The man is supposed to heal his teammates, but he seems more interested in experimenting on people, i.e. replacing their organs with those of other creatures. "Ze healing is not as revarding as ze hurting" is one quote of his that told them all they need to know about him, and it definitely left a bad taste in their mouths.
* Ruby and Tom have had quite enough of eldritch horrors for one lifetime, and as such, do their best to avoid any that exist in the Pantheon. The [[Pantheon/CthulhuMythos creations of H.P. Lovecraft]] are at the top of that list of beings to avoid, which of course includes one Cthulhu. The Chaos Gods and their Daemons are also given a wide berth -- a whole House's worth of space!
* [[spoiler:Ruby has been approached by some psychically-inclined deities, either curious about her third eye or offering to teach her how to better use it. She has declined those offers, and has explained that using the eye ''kinda hurts''.]] On a more positive note, Tom ''loves'' rough-housing with other deities in the House of Pantheon/FightingAndCombat, and serving as part of a demolition crew in the House of Pantheon/{{Craft}}. Basically, if he can get violent without having good reason to feel guilty about it, he's up for it.
* It should be noted that the duo -- especially Ruby -- were sort-of guided through the Glen by the Mob. Having met them in person in the Pantheon was an...interesting experience. One word: Overload.
* They were surprised to learn they weren't the only rabbit-cat couple in the Pantheon. Nabi and Doki are quite a charming couple, but they had to endure harsh criticism from their peers, all because of their InterspeciesRomance. Nonetheless, Ruby and Tom are happy for them, and hope they never have to endure anything like the horrors found in the Glen.
* They are rather afraid of Jigsaw. The idea of a serial killer who would kidnap people by knocking them out and then placing them in a game of life-and-death reminds them too much of what they had to endure in the Metal Glen.
* They have the admiration of many of the Pantheon's puzzle-solvers for some of the challenges they faced in the Glen. Detective-types have also complimented the pair on their deductive skills. However, the latter group started giving Tom suspicious and/or cautious glances lately; they've been tipped off about something, and they're wondering if Tom knows this ''little secret''...
** [[spoiler:None of the deities who know about Tom's identity as the true Subject 6 -- a very violent subject -- have had the courage to discuss it with the pair yet... They hope to everything they hold sacred that no malevolent deity finds out and uses it against the two...and that Tom doesn't know about -- and thus, isn't actively hiding -- his identity as Subject 6...]]

* The Klondike Gold Rush in Yukon, Canada during the late 1890’s was quite a time for everyone involved. Buck is a mixed breed dog who gets sold off to Canada to become a sled dog and is forced to endure a harsh world full of danger and uncaring humans, with his wild animal instincts slowly growing inside him. Along the way, he encounters John Thornton, an outdoorsman who Buck takes a liking towards. Once Thornton dies, Buck avenges his death and with no remaining humans to properly interact with, Buck ultimately answers the call of the wild and becomes the leader of a wolf pack.
* Buck had already been used to his time in the wild, though many of his memories from prior continued to stick with him. One night, the stars shone brighter than before as Buck was getting ready to sleep after another day had passed. Buck noticed some lights from afar before he closed his eyes and the following day, he noticed some buildings in a small town that wasn’t there before, seemingly the source of the lights from the night prior. It turned out that his home was closer to the Pantheon than Buck had realized (even if he had no idea of what the Pantheon even was beforehand), with plenty of adventures waiting to come to him well into his time as a wild animal.
* While Buck has opted to continue living in the wilderness even after learning that it’s a part of the Pantheon, there are plenty of kind-hearted humans with a personality akin to Thornton’s that are willing to befriend him. Among them were Eliza Thornberry, a girl that has traveled through jungles and made friends with animals by directly communicating with them. One of her expeditions with her family led to a frozen landscape and it was there that she encountered Buck and his wolfpack. From there, she learned about what Buck had gone through prior to adapting to the wild and since then, Eliza and Buck developed a friendship with each other.
* One group of canines who Buck was able to relate to very well were the Dogmeats. Even if the circumstances and time period that the Dogmeats had to go through was much worse than Buck, what didn’t change is their unflinching loyalty to their masters and how they’ll protect them from any danger that lurks. The Dogmeats occasionally travel with Buck across the frozen wilderness that the latter resides in though Buck has only gotten brief glimpses of the barren wasteland that the Dogmeats traverse across.
* Balto was one dog that quickly became interested in Buck after hearing about how another sled-dog traversed through a dangerous frozen landscape. There is a noticeable contrast between the two as while Buck was formerly a pet that cared about a human and later became a wild animal, Balto wanted to be accepted by humans in spite of being a wolfdog. While Balto has had experience with living in the wild, Buck is usually the one to aid Balto whenever they’re attacked. Their determination and strong bond with someone they cared about being a motivator for accomplishing their goals helped strengthen the friendship between Buck and Balto.
* Things are a bit unusual between Snoopy and Buck as far as how things are between them. It could be chalked up to Snoopy having a [[WesternAnimation/WhatANightmareCharlieBrown nightmare]] at one point that he was part of a group of sled dogs similar to Buck that resulted in him regaining his animal instincts and ended with him and the other sled dogs drowning in frozen water. That said, Buck considered John Thornton to be a valuable companion the same way that Snoopy sees Charlie Brown as a good friend, something that both dogs can understand. While Snoopy does have quite an imagination and the idea of meeting an actual sled dog that went through plenty of trouble was unnerving for Snoopy given the nightmare, there’s no hostility between him and Buck otherwise.
* Moro, being a wolf that’s very much aligned with nature, finds Buck’s story to be unusual given how the latter started off as a domesticated animal that was abused by some humans and later came to hold his final human master in high regard before embracing his animal instincts. Moro later found Buck during a cold winter day, telling him about the forest she and the rest of the denizens there protect and Buck finding her to be a potent leader of her own pack and one with more authority than he couldn’t surpass. She has some respect for Buck for embracing his animal heritage in a time where humans are prone to vices, while still acknowledging how Thornton was a benevolent human who bonded with Buck akin to how Ashitaka came to understand San, a woman who was one with nature and animals.
* Throughout his journey and especially before meeting John Thornton, Buck had to put up with people who abused him and the other sled dogs. The fact that there are just as plenty of people in the Pantheon who like to abuse animals (dogs especially) as those who are fond of canines, didn’t go over well with him. Worse yet is that there are deities such as Cruella De Vil who are actively trying to kill dogs for their own personal treasure. If Cruella were to end up trying to find a wild dog like Buck to make a coat out of it, then Buck is willing to scare her out of doing it.
* Given the time period of Buck’s adventures and how he traveled with people who are seeking gold, it didn’t take long for others who have a strong desire for that treasure to try and force Buck to work with them. While the money-seeking, but still friendly deities haven’t put Buck in even worse danger, there are those such as Fred C. Dobbs and Flintheart Glomgold, greedy deities who are willing to leave others for dead after they’ve used them to earn gold, who are willing to seek out gold in Buck’s location. They haven’t been successful in forcing Buck to work with them given how the canine and his pack have driven them out repeatedly and how Buck doesn’t want to be associated with abusive masters anymore.
* Rowf and Snitter had a rather unusual meeting with Buck as the two were trying to evade someone determined to capture them. The two learned about what Buck had gone through, especially in regards to having some earlier abusive masters and one kind-hearted human who Buck would later avenge. Snitter seems to understand Buck’s ordeal rather well considering the variety of humans the latter had encountered, though Rowf was a bit skeptical about Buck having a good relationship with a human considering the dangers Thornton had encountered and getting killed by what Rowf perceived to be as savages. Buck found what Rowf and Snitter had to go through to be even more extreme than his own abuse and was willing to let the two travel with him and his pack.
* What ultimately drove Buck into being a part of the wild was avenging Thornton’s death via attacking The Yeehats, a Native American tribe. This incident was something Buck wouldn’t forget and the fact that some Native Americans were in the Pantheon, some possibly within the area Buck and his wolfpack roam, was something that Buck wasn’t happy with. Unlike the presumably hostile Yeehats, some of the Native Americans in the Pantheon had a far more friendly disposition than what Buck came to expect. Pocahontas, being someone who revered nature and has a few animal companions of her own, came across Buck while she was traveling during a cold day. While Buck initially was hostile towards her, she only had empathy and could understand the pain that he had gone through prior. Eventually, Buck warmed up to her and both have been on good terms with each other since then.
* Elsa found kinship with Buck as she heard a “call of the wild” of her own and was compelled to follow it. Like how Buck went from domesticated animal to a wild animal, Elsa went from being a royal leader to a guardian of nature as a result of answering that call. Both have bonded with each other for having a similar experience in discovering nature and getting acclimated with it.
* Buck became a sort of brotherly figure to the Nintendogs, especially considering the latter’s tendencies to run away whenever their owners stop paying attention to them. Buck is usually the one to help the Nintendogs return to their home, and them having a good home life often reminds Buck of the company he once had with Thornton.
* Hazel, who escaped from his original home in search of a better place, finds Buck’s adventures to be relatable considering how he was torn between wanting to be a part of the wild and wanting to live with Thornton. In turn, Buck considers him to be an effective leader of the pack of rabbits that traveled with Hazel. Whenever Hazel and his rabbits are near Buck’s domain, the canine and his pack will help them out, especially when it comes to protecting them from others looking to hunt them down.

* Pitied By: Most Deities in the Hall of Pantheon/{{Alcohol}}, House of Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives
* Elizabeth Harmon initially did not have a good start in her life. She had a dysfunctional mother, Alice, who suffered from mental issues, refused aid from her former husband and ended her own life in a deliberate car accident, leaving Beth to be taken into an orphanage known as the Methuen Home, where she didn't really bond with anyone except for a fellow girl named Jolene. One day, she stumbled across the basement floor, where she met the custodian, Mr. Shaibel, who went on to teach Beth chess, where she found a natural talent in playing, alongside drugging herself with tranquilizer pills to allow her focus on playing chess to remain intact. After being adopted by the Wheatleys, Beth would go on to enroll in several chess competitions where she would create a notable reputation in the world of Chess, and bonding with her adopted mother, Alma. However, Beth struggled to communicate and connect with others, especially boys, due to having been raised in an all-girls orphanage and she starts to compete against world-renowned chess players where she begins to lose several matches, [[SoreLoser which she didn't take well at]]. Things got worse when after losing a match in Mexico, Beth found Alma dead on a hotel bed, having intoxicated herself with drinking too much tequila. Her frustrations bolstered to the point where she became alcoholic and detached from her associates, though with some effort from her friends, Beth was able to get back on track with her professional and personal life, which additionally helped with the return of Jolene. Entering a high-stakes competition in Russia, Beth goes against and defeats several veteran players including world champion Vasily Borgov, cementing herself as one of the best players of chess in the world and being well-respected by her challengers.
* It was a while since Beth won the world championship against Borgov. The last reported sightings were of her betting a Russian man to play chess, but beyond that, no one knows what happened to Beth after this. Her arrival in the Pantheon, on the other hand, wasn't actually her playing chess, but rather, making a visitation to the House of Pantheon/{{Costumes}} to check out a dress that she wanted to buy for herself, namely one with a [[SymbolMotifClothing black-and-white checker design]]. It was after that where she decided to find a place where she can engage in a chess competition and engage against a competition. Here, she revealed her entrance; she merely received a letter to someplace, promising that she would be facing off against a slew of new chess players to match up against her. And if there was a reason why Beth Harmon ascended into the Pantheon, it was because of her being a chess prodigy. And she's going to have to prove it.
* While there are a number of chess players in the Pantheon, Beth is the unofficial mascot of the game in the new realm, given the fact that chess was a major impetus and motivation in her life. Evidently enough, the game ended up becoming more popular in the Pantheon and since then, many others have attempted to join on and hone their skills. Beth was honestly surprised to learn that many took to seeing her as a major influence, though she doesn't really know how to properly communicate with others at times. She can talk to others, but the attempt is still hard, given that much of Beth's life was spent in an orphanage where she didn't get much social support and affiliation.
* Beth's playing style can be summed up in one word; [[AttackAttackAttack aggressive]]. This made her a rather [[TheDreaded frightful figure]] to fellow chess players as not only does Beth make moves and positions to intimidate her opponents into dropping their confidence, but she's also quick and analytical in the game, and more often than not, she ends up winning her matches. It's a habit that only those familiar with chess would recognize, but to the uninitiated, it would simply mean that Beth is just really good at playing... or scaring others somehow.
* Chess players acknowledge just how hard and time-consuming their efforts and matches can get and dedicated their lives to honing their skills to it, Beth includes. This also extends to how they see their opponents like and in the occasion, they lose, [[GracefulLoser they will accept their defeat and offer respect and praise to their opponent]]. [[SoreLoser Not Beth]]; while she does acknowledge her peers' talents and skills, it doesn't change the fact that she doesn't take losing well and tries to deal with it via getting drunk, though she's been making an effort to avert that situation. Beth's friends have since been trying to get her to be more gracious in case she is defeated, though progress has been slow.
** Surprisingly enough, this aspect led her to become associated with Komugi. Unlike Beth, she actually plays a similar board game called Gungi, which she excels at. Beth expresses some interest in learning the game itself, and in turn, she would like to teach chess to Komugi. While Beth took her defeat in Gungi against Komugi better than expected, the fact that a single loss on Komugi's side meant that the latter would [[LosingIsWorseThanDeath rather kill herself than live with the fact that she lost a game of Gungi]] made Beth rather uncomfortable about playing the game again with her. As a result, Beth thinks she and Komugi are better off playing chess instead and bonding with one another on that. They've remained good friends since.
* Some deities took an interest in wanting to play against Beth in chess matches. Among these were Ron Weasley, Seto Kaiba, Lelouch vi Britannia, Gozaburo, and Sherlock Holmes. Kaiba and Gozaburo were simply interested to test out their playing prowess and seek to prove themselves the better player. Ron, Lelouch, and Holmes simply wanted to have a friendly match and pay their respect. Regardless, Beth was open to accepting their invitation to challenge her. Most games tend to be a tie, though Beth ends up scoring more wins than usual, with only Lelouch being able to average put with a decent amount of wins. As a result, he sees Beth as one of the few he sees as a WorthyOpponent in the field of chess.
** Light Yagami also fancies himself with intellectual prowess and habits and, in much of his non-malicious moments, takes to playing chess. He's played against Beth on some occasions and to his dismay, Beth affirms herself as the superior player, which he doesn't really appreciate all too much. One can make the argument that Light is smarter than Beth, but this doesn't translate to being someone who spends most of his life playing and practicing their skills as a player. Beth herself is not so kind towards Light either, thinking that he's too much of a showoff, and cites his impulsiveness as a reason why he ends up losing. Light even considered killing Beth, but relented, only because he's aware that it would cause him too much scrutiny on his end for killing off a popular figure in the Pantheon and that he needs to maintain a decent public image.
** Ra's al Ghul and Bane were also skilled in playing chess and have even squared off against one another. Beth being an unofficial chess mascot in the Pantheon did interest them enough to consider playing with her. Unlike Light, the two villains were cordial and respectful to Beth, and Ra's was impressed with how she was able to combine what should be a risky playing tactic with a sharp and quick thought-processing. If anything, Ra's found himself tying against Beth at some points. Bane, on the other hand, is actually able to beat her, though he does admit that Beth is a better player than most of Bane's opponents in chess. That said, the fact that Beth has learned from Bane's playing style does mean that she can one day beat both him and Ra's, though that may take a while, given how much experience the two have had regarding their wit and intellect.
** To everyone's surprise, Beth found herself getting along with TheGrimReaper, or at least two versions of them. Though the reason behind it wasn't all that alluring, given that they, too, have had an experience in chess, it was still a shocker that such a relationship ended up happening. He of the Seventh Seal, while somewhat apathetic, was interested to play chess with Beth and was impressed by their game, in addition to paying her condolences for what she went through. The "Picker-Up of Unconsidered Trifles" was largely similar, if a lot more expressive and emotive than a typical Grim Reaper. He sometimes likes to hang out with Beth and give her support in her interests as a means to further help her out and allow Beth to be more expressive when making friends. Despite her snarky attitude and sometimes seeing him as annoying, Beth does consider him a friend at the end of the day.
* Outside of her professional life, Beth has been struggling to adjust to a normal life, especially as her obsession with chess costs her many opportunities to explore and look into other aspects of life. The Pantheon, however, has been rather encouraging about this sort of viewpoint, which she decided to take advantage of. She was puzzled to see that the House of Pantheon/{{Gaming}} represented a [[VideoGame different sort of gaming convention decades past her prime]][[note]]though that's not to say there have been chess-related video games[[/note]], though she still thinks it's amusing to still set up a chess section there, in case anyone gets interested.
* Having gone through a tough life in an orphanage, with Jolene and Mr. Shaibel being the only bright spots, Beth expresses sympathy and care towards orphans, such as Anne-Marie, Anne Shirley, and Oliver Twist over their ordeals of being children who had to deal with either having no parental figures or having terrible substitute parents. Beth finds Anne-Marie's story rather weird, but she does seem content to learn that she does get a HappyEnding, though Anne and Oliver's were rather harder to stomach. Unfortunately for Beth, neither were really interested in chess, but she didn't really mind all too much.
** On the subject of orphanages, Beth took note of those who either grew up or worked there, with Granny Goodness being among those. While Beth may have had a hard time adjusting to her living conditions, she doesn't want to think too much about the New God, who makes it a hobby to play up the persona of being a motherly matron whilst actually being a {{Sadist}} who enjoys tormenting and victimizing her subjects for her amusement. Beth took it upon herself to call out Granny Goodness for being an "entitled bitch" and a "lousy caretaker", though the New God didn't really mind too much.
* As she was initially under the care of a mentally disturbed mother who [[OffingTheOffspring tried to kill her]] [[PaterFamilicide and herself]] after failing to receive any aid, Beth is pitied by the House of Pantheon/FamilyAndRelatives. That said, Beth has come to respect the Heroic Protectors for giving it a try to at least instill positive aspects such as nurture and affection, which is what Beth would have wanted as a child. On an additional note, she is happy to be reunited with Alma as a herald after the latter's untimely death from alcoholic intoxication. The fact that Alma lost a child prior to adopting Beth is also a connecting thought for the House of Family expressing their condolences. Though Beth can be rather bossy and awkwardly mean when it comes to getting affection from anyone that isn't her loved ones, though overall, she's not a bad person.
* On the subject of intoxication, Alma's death affected Beth to the point where she became socially isolated from everyone she knew, was fixated on keeping her house clean, and developed an addiction to alcohol. This fact did not go unnoticed by the Hall of Pantheon/{{Alcohol}} where, luckily, most of the representing deities there, as well as Pantheonic bartenders were saddened to learn of the circumstances that caused Beth to become constantly strung up on taking too many shots. She has recovered, though sometimes, she'll attend the Hall for the occasional drink. As a sign of respect, there's a designated spot in the Hall where visitors and staff can play chess, provided they don't booze themselves up too much. Beth felt honored about the occasion, though she personally prefers to play her games elsewhere, citing that she'd get annoyed if someone was to suddenly step in to demand a game of chess while all she wants is a drink.
* The House of Pantheon/{{Costumes}} was a place where Beth could go without having to stress out too much about mentioning chess and competition all too much. It's arguably the one place in the Pantheon where she feels most happy and satisfied as Beth does enjoy trying out different sorts of styles and design, archaic or contemporary, and seems keen on trying out a more professional look. This stems from the fact that in reality, chess players enter competitions wearing suits or other sorts of upper-class clothing and are well-groomed, a far cry from the usual depiction of modern chess players and fans.
** Beth made a few oddities of friends there, including Rarity, Shiki Misaki and Noriko Kamomebata, the fact that each of them was heavily different to her was something that Beth noticed quickly. Then again, the fact that all of them have an interest in fashion was the reason they got well-acquainted with each other and that's what matters. Noriko, despite being a resident from the Hall of Pantheon/RomanticLoss, admires how Beth tends to wear [[SymbolMotifClothing black-and-white clothing, with a square-esque design]], which alludes to Beth's association and passion with chess. Rarity and Shiki are open to inviting her to fashion-based events and getting Beth to check out on something every once in a while. Despite Beth's snarky and deadpan nature, she makes it clear she likes Rarity, Shiki, and Noriko for their hospitality and for being open to accepting her as a friend, regardless of their differences.
* Has gotten very close to Magik, as both [[Creator/AnyaTaylorJoy look very similar]] and have [[BrokenBird as much psychological damage as a girl can get]]. Magik is starting to teach Russian to Beth, and also trying to arrange for chess matches with Professor X and Magneto.
* One day when she was playing chess, Mary Adler approached her and expressed an interest in playing with her. Although Beth seemed initially very distant with her, they soon bonded over their shared experiences with being a ChildProdigy and dealing with the legacy of their mothers, both skilled mathematicians who killed themselves when the two were young. Mary has taken to playing chess well and Beth enjoys teaching her.

* Rudolf and Gottalot are two cats with the unusual (for their species) ability to read. The two first met when Rudolf followed his owner, a young girl named Rie, outside of his house in Gifu and wound up getting catastrophically lost, ending up in Tokyo after getting in a truck. In the Tokyo streets, Rudolf met Gottalot, a tough stray cat with a soft heart who took Rudolf in. Rudolf aimed to go back to Rie, which Gottalot told him he could not do if he didn't know how to interpret human signs. So the surprisingly cultured Gottalot decided to teach Rudolf to read, a skill he picked up from his former owner. Gottalot made sure Rudolf understood a whole universe of knowledge was hidden in books. Many things happened, a year passed, and a now educated Rudolf managed to go from Tokyo to Gifu without a hitch. There, Rudolf discovered he had been replaced with an identical kitten, but he decided not to reclaim his place and instead went back to Tokyo to live with Gottalot and his returned owner.
* Their ascension happened when the two cats went to the local library for their intellectual pursuits, only to be greeted with a different atmosphere and a far more spacious library than they'd ever personally seen when they went through the door. Gottalot was the most cautious at their new surroundings, while Rudolf was more curious and eager to see what kind of books there were. Both soon settled down into perusing the books once Gottalot was confident there was no danger nearby. That peaceful time lasted until some deep-voiced greetings sounded from the far heights of the library and Rudolf and Gottalot looked up to see the dragon Falkor approaching them, which for the two cats was the most frightening thing they'd ever seen. They hid under some shelves, which saddened Falkor, but he was still friendly to them as he remarked they must be new to the Pantheon and proceeded to explain the place to them, and that they were allowed to enter for a reason, which they would discover if they went to the Main House. Falkor then left, as Rudolf and Gottalot still wouldn't trust him, but they decided it was worth seeing what he meant. Sure enough, at the Main House they were told they had been designed as deities with some sort of domain over books, and also guardians of the library they'd been at. They were also told not to worry about Falkor, as he was a protector of anyone who defended the sanctity of literature. Rudolf was ecstatic at everything, while Gottalot was more contained but thought this would certainly be an interesting chapter in their lives.
* Since ascending, they spend pretty much all their time at the Pantheon libraries, and when they aren't reading, they're probably taking catnaps on the shelves or playing quietly with visitors who need a break from studying. Since cats make everything more popular, interest in the library has seen an increase thanks to them, but Rudolf and Gottalot are mindful of their duties and make sure to show visitors books of interest so they don't just go there for their fluffy, cute selves. Some of the deities who appreciate the work the two cats put in are Belle, Elizabeth Bennet, Twilight Sparkle and Kosuzu Motoori, who are all avid readers and thus like it when Rudolf or Gottalot surprise them with reading recommendations they never thought of.
* Rudolf and Gottalot fast became friends with fellow feline Haru, because her owner Subaru is a writer who sometimes visits the library for research purposes and he's taken to bringing her along since learning about Rudolf and Gottalot, thinking Haru might enjoy socializing. Rudolf reminds Haru of her little siblings, so she's sometimes fusses over him like a big sister, to Rudolf's embarrassment. She was initially intimidated by the large and powerful Gottalot, but quickly figured out that he was friendly despite a certain amount of gruffness. Gottalot thought it was ironic that for a professional writer's cat, Haru showed little to no interest in the subject. Rudolf thought he could teach her how to read and write like them, and while Haru went along with it to humor him, she simply could not grasp those human scribbles and eventually admitted it simply wasn't for her, so the enterprise was abandoned. She still likes talking and doing cat things with them, though.
* Shizuku Tsukishima is another writer and she was very excited when she learned Rudolf and Gottalot were cats that could read, which probably has something to do with the fact that her debut novel has a feline protagonist, the Baron. Rudolf was quick to find her book and excitedly read the adventures of the Baron, and his meow of approval cheered Shizuku to write more. She thinks she'd like to write characters based on Rudolf and Gottalot eventually.
* Despite being cats, they can get along with dogs perfectly fine, so long as the dogs are friendly to them in turn. Wishbone happens to be a dog who has a very similar enthusiasm for reading as Rudolf and Gottalot do; in his case he is especially fond of imagining himself as the protagonist of the stories he reads. This sounds really fun to Rudolf, who has taken to imitating Wishbone to an extent. Sometimes the two play with each other by reenacting stories, though that has led to arguments over who'll be the protagonist. Fortunately, the down-to-earth Gottalot is always there to settle things and make the decision before they can get too heated, and both Rudolf and Wishbone know better than to contest Gottalot's decision.
* Rudolf and Gottalot are not necessarily unique as felines who love reading. The Cat in the Hat has also claimed to be an avid reader and thus is sometimes seen at the library socializing with his likeminded fellows. Gottalot mostly sees him as a very dubious guy for the chaos he creates, even if he somehow always puts things back in their place in the end. The Cat in the Hat also claims to be able to read with his eyes shut, which he proceeded to demonstrate to an amazed Rudolf. Gottalot wasn't so impressed as he rolled his eyes and told Rudolf the Cat was talking nonsense and that he shouldn't be taken in by it. Even so, Rudolf remains fascinated with the many strange things the Cat is capable of.
* Rudolf once spotted a green worm crawling around the library and pounced on it, thinking it might be trying to eat the paper in the books or something. Instead the worm somehow attacked Rudolf with words, much to his bewilderment, and then chastised Rudolf for interrupting him while he was looking for the next book he was going to read. Rudolf curiously talked to Lex, as the literal bookworm is known, discovering he was a lot more powerful than he looked and that he has gone on some big adventures inside books and even defeated some villains. Despite their rough first meeting, Lex was quite friendly to Rudolf as the kitten quizzed him. When Rudolf told Gottalot all about this, Gottalot told him to use it as a lesson not to judge creatures for how they look, especially now that they're in a place as varied as the Pantheon.
* Gottalot makes no secret of the fact that he looks down on ignorance, so he's contemptuous of the likes of I. M. Meen, who scoffs at learning and actively tries to get in the way of those who pursue knowledge. Rudolf obviously does not approve of Meen either, since the things he learned from Gottalot and books were key for him to achieve his goals. Even though Meen tried to teach the cats a lesson by trapping them in a PortalBook, the two cats easily got out and can only laugh at how Meen is so easily bested by the thing he despises the most, with Gottalot even advising him to actually hit the books and especially work hard at improving his grammar next time he wants to give diligent students and other cultured beings an actual hard time. Meen is very incensed at how a couple of mere cats managed to defeat him, but still doesn't seem to have learned his lesson.
* Sometimes the libraries are targeted by nutcases who think their collection contains harmful knowledge that should be destroyed forever. Captain Beatty is one of the most notorious book-burners around, and it sometimes happens that he raids the libraries with like-minded allies to destroy whatever they can grab. Gottalot personally clawed Beatty's face during one of those raids, while Rudolf did his best to do some damage to Beatty as well despite Gottalot telling him to hide. After things settled down, Guy Montag, who helped fight Beatty and his goons, gave Gottalot some pats on the head, congratulating him for causing Beatty to need stitches. Rudolf later remarked on how surprised he is there are people who hate knowledge so much, they'd try to destroy it. Gottalot explained to him there are some people who think certain knowledge is dangerous and that they should be the ones to decide what the rest of the world is allowed to know; however, such a way of thinking is despicable as far as Gottalot is concerned, and he told Rudolf he should never let others decide what is fit for him to know and what isn't.
* Outside the library, Rudolf met with some pets who were once in a very similar position to him when they lost track of their owners. There's Shadow, Chance and Sassy, two dogs and one cat who went on a perilous, miles-long journey across the wilderness to get back home. Rudolf almost couldn't believe that they managed to achieve that without the knowledge Gottalot had him acquire, but then he reasoned that they were three animals (two of which large dogs) who had each other's backs, so it's certainly plausible that they could make it, while he, who was on his own, definitely needed other resources. Either way, he personally likes all three animals, with Chance and Sassy being fun to hang around, while Shadow's serenity and wisdom reminds him of Gottalot.
* Rudolf would also discover some lost pets take very dark paths, as is the case with Hagen, who was forcibly separated from his owner and made to fend for himself in the cutthroat streets of Budapest. After reaching his breaking point, Hagen led all the other abandoned dogs in a violent revolt against the humans, with Hagen brutally tearing all who personally abused him apart, until his owner managed to calm him down. Despite these sinister events, Hagen has become relatively peaceful since ascending, and welcomed Rudolf's interest in him when the kitten decided to visit him (without telling Gottalot). Rudolf had a far easier time as a stray, but the two could nonetheless relate to each other to an extent, thanks to their feelings for their kind owners (Rie for Rudolf, Lili for Hagen). Gottalot could guess Rudolf had met with Hagen when he returned, but he respected his choice and only told him to take him next time he visited Hagen, as he was quite curious himself to meet such an unusual dog. All three became friends in time.

* Simon Henriksson is a regular teenager from Sweden who suffers from depression and had to be treated regularly. While he seemingly got run over by a car, Simon woke up in a surreal version of his home town overrun by [[EldritchAbomination creatures of unrecognizable and indescribable features]]. In reality, [[spoiler: this was all in Simon head, since he was suffering from a psychosis while trying to deal with his inner problems and depression, which could have possibly ended up with [[DrivenToSuicide his death]]]]. Simon felt like that whole situation repeated itself after his ascension into the pantheon but he was pleased to know that wasn't the case.
* Initially he distrusted how he ascended, [[spoiler:considering that the last time he was walking he was having a psychosis]] but he was fine and the Pantheon didn't seem like the hostile place his home turned into. That said, [[spoiler:he was given the chance to walk again so he could [[PetTheDog relax from his already complicated real life]] and enjoy himself a little]].
* Simon rather fragile mind has been one of his constant problems that he had to face, considering that most of the creatures he encountered were [[ThroughTheEyesOfMadness just merely him hallucinating]]. But he felt sorry for others that went through the same problem, one of them being Isaac who is only a small child yet he is a messed up as Simon is.
* One notable thing that he hates is Chainsaw, [[ThatOneBoss given his numerous encounters with the Sawrunner]]. It's not surprise he hates the likes of Leatherface and Piggsy, who wouldn't be out of place among the creatures he encountered.
* Refuses to get near any StringyHairedGhostGirl after he made the mistake of attacking one with a knife [[FetusTerrible and a baby bursted out of her womb to attack him]]. Yes that even includes [[Pantheon/PhysicalAppearance Erma]].
* Sympathizes with Shinji Ikari since they both have gone through the same problem. Thankfully Simon managed to get treated [[MultipleEndings (With varying results)]] and pities that Shinji [[ThereAreNoTherapists hasn't been treated properly]], but he won't recommend him writing a book about his inner problems.
* If you think that Simon being a regular teenager might make him look like a pushover you would be mistaken given that he knows how to handle a gun. [[spoiler:This even applies to his real self where he accidentally killed two cops while suffering a psychosis]].
* Simon's ascension brought something dark alongside him. [[EnemyWithout His book version]], which is [[BloodSplatteredWarrior completely covered in blood]], can sometimes be seen wandering around the pantheon and won't hesitate to target unsuspectings deities. Plus he is [[MightyGlacier fairly durable]], so handling him as a group is the most likely way to defeat it. There is no way of containing it since he is just a fragment of Simon's psyche and acts on his own accord.
** The SCP Foundation has tried to contain it but all attempts to capture if has been deemed a failure since he always managed to fade away after a few minutes of being terminated. The Foundation suspects that Simon's Book is the cause of it, even though he claims that he has destroyed it and has kept an eye on his temple in case the apparition tried to target him again.
* Seems to get along with Gordon Freeman as he has played his games before and also because Cry of Fear is a HL mod after all. He also had encountered similars creatures as the Headcrabs and is not a big fan of them.
* [[AndYourRewardIsClothes Oddly enough]], Simon has been seen wearing a Hello Kitty hoodie from time to time. That's one of the reasons why he likes to hang with Hello Kitty. (The other reason is to distract himself from his current reality)
* Spooky has heard of his story and has been interested in "taking" his book to see if she could manually summon Book Simon and relocate him in her mansion. This obviously failed as Simon has kept the location of it secret and he is already tired of dealing with people wanting to take it.

* Having to sacrifice his good prospects in order to make the people of Bedford Falls happy, George Bailey was miserable and down on his luck. One fateful Christmas Eve, however, it would seem that his life would be crashing down... After his uncle misplaced the money that was supposed to keep his family's loaning business afloat, he thinks of jumping off a bridge to pay the missing money with his life insurance. Before he could end it all, he spotted and rescued a drowning man from the river. The older man claimed to be his Guardian Angel, who wished to earn his wings by making George appreciate his life. Still feeling miserable, George accidentally made a wish that it would be better if [[RetGone he was never born]]. He got his wish, which was granted as he visited an AlternateUniverse where ''[[CrapsackWorld everyone he knew of were miserable]]'', undoing every good thing he's ever done, all the friendship he'd made and losing his family. After taking back his wish, he's a much happier person and his misfortunes reversed, with the townspeople he had help coming to his aim and donating money to make up for the missing cash. On that day, he came to learn these immortal words that come with [[ThePowerOfFriendship friends]]:
-->''No man is a failure who has friends.''
* George does not fully remember when he ascended. He just remembered receiving a strange letter, wandered into a strange part of town, and panicked as he noticed he didn't recognize that part of town, with him thinking he was being tricked again. It was only after seeing Clarence again (now with his full set of wings) and having the angel explained everything to him, did George calmed his nerves a bit. He said George ascended after the Court of Gods realized that he truly had a Wonderful Life, and they hope he would [[ItsAWonderfulPlot inspire people to value their own wonderful life]]. Shortly after George ascended, the Court were able to approved his request to fix his deaf left ear, which is not hard with so many willing healers around.
* Found out that his situation of wishing he was never born and being shown how life is without him has happened to others. He felt both unnerved and amazed about this revelation. Unnerved because it mean that they suffered a similar existential dread of having no one to remember them like he was; but also amazed how his story affected the lives of those beyond his world and knowing that it would at least make them appreciate their life just as he does. He has befriended some of these peoples like Kermit, Duncan and Donald.
** Besides those who wished they were never born, he also heard stories of those who wished they never met someone, never left their hometown, never taken that job or role that they have etc., with most of whom ended up being worse than what they had originally. He's also befriended some of those people and was glad they were able to appreciate their lives too. He's also observed that some of those people who shared his story were superheroes, whose absence also affect their teammates' lives, their loved ones' lives and the lives of people that they saved. In turn, he was surprised that he was earned the respect of others (namely both Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent) who admired his perseverance in his battle against Potter and helping the little men.
** However, George is closest to Timmy Turner because his "Wonderful Plot" was just utterly cruel. Especially since what lead up to the situation was because people were being ungrateful towards Timmy and being shown how people were better off without him. George thought it was heartless to do to a kid. Even it was just a SecretTestOfCharacter. He dislikes Jorgen Von Strangle, the one who tested the kid, as a result of this.
*** Upon meeting Jorgen to give him a piece of his mind, the muscular fairy argues with George that he was just teaching the child that good deeds should be done for what is right and shouldn't be done out of praise. George agrees to that statement, but still thinks Jorgen's methods are still cruel. The fairy then tries to change his mind about the matter by showing George other stories where the person's life was better off without them existing, as their loved one lived better lives without them. Most of them either didn't get the lesson (like the case of [[Pantheon/LoveInterests Cheryl Blossom]], [[Pantheon/{{Laughter}} Butt-Head]], and [[Pantheon/RomanticLoss Johnny Bravo]]) or lived out of pure sprite (like in the case of [[Pantheon/CritiqueAndParody Nostalgia Critic]], [[Pantheon/VillainousSuccessAndFailure Dick Dastardly]], or [[Pantheon/OptimismAndPessimism Al Bundy]]). This didn't help Jorgen's case (and even the fairy admits he showed the latter three's stories for a quick laugh) and George was just sad for them. He did find at least one world where [[Film/SixteenWishes the lesson actual sticks with them]], which he's at least thankful for.
** He also deeply dislikes who use his situation for their own nefarious gain. Take Shrek or Sonic for example, as their respective enemies used their powers to prevent their existence, thus having no one to oppose them at all. He likens it to what happen to his hometown when Mr. Potter took over Bedford Falls in his absence, except way worse. He dislikes Dr. Robotnik and Rumpelstiltskin for these reasons, and he's going to give them a piece of his mind as well if he were to ever meet them. Given that she gained Sam Mason's wish of never meeting Danny Fenton (thereby never inspire him to take up his superhero ghost persona in the first place) to remove the heroic ghost boy out from contention for her schemes, he also despises the wish-gaining Desiree as a result.
** [[Pantheon/RecollectionAndAmnesia Stan Smith]]'s story highly intrigued him. Like him, he too had an angel that tried to teach him to appreciate his family...twice. Once by [[spoiler:taking away his original family and replacing the ones he currently has (which is [[Pantheon/AmericanDad the family he ascended with]]) as punishment]] and twice by switching places with his children's Principal, [[spoiler:causing him to marry his replacement wife and become the father of his children)]]. Stan instead wishes to return to his [[spoiler:replacement family]] as that he grows attached to them. He's not specifically interested in Stan himself (he's frustrated in him in not learning his lessons), but more so in the idea that had he not learned his lesson and wasn't distraught by the changes in his town, he would have probably been like Stan and [[spoiler:started a new life as well]].
* George Bailey is often considered the most selfless man in the entire pantheon, as every sacrifice he ever made was for the benefit of others. Because of this, he has earned the respect of others. There are many others who can relate to his story of self-sacrifice as well. Carl Fredricksen had to give up his savings to go to Paradise Falls (which he promised his wife that they would go) for every inconvenience thing that happens to the couple and never made it while his wife was alive as a result. Dipper Pines can relate to George having to sacrifices his happiness for his brother, as he had done the same for his sister Mabel. Even from those who have a higher power rank than him, he's still highly respected. Madoka Kaname, Shirou Emiya and Steven Universe have a habit of sacrificing themselves or otherwise risking themselves (and their mental health) for other's happiness and well-being. He pities each of them and hope that by sharing his story, they would be reminded that there are people who care for them deeply.
* It was said that George's story is comparable to the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. The story of a bitter old man who was shown visions of what his life used to be and what would have been had he not changed his ways. George hasn't sure to expect when meeting Scrooge, who looks at and acted like Mr. Potter at first. When Scrooge dropped his pretend crankiness however, George and Scrooge get along together swimmingly, especially since Scrooge is no longer the bitter stingy person he once was. For the same reasons as Scrooge, he gets along with Scrooge [=McDuck=]. George's story is also comparable to Rip Van Winkle's; (in a comparable analogy) instead of George being sent to a world where he wasn't born, he was instead missing for 20 years, having missed WWII and then Mr. Potter took over Bedford Falls. George pities what Rip has got thought, but he's thankful Rip was able to cope with that.
** The [[Pantheon/CritiqueAndParody Nostalgic Critic]], of all people, realized to similarities of both George's and Michael Newman's stories, to the point of almost calling the inferior version of the other (whatever that is). George doesn't really get the Critic (and avoid him anyway after hearing his insane Christmas antics). He did get to meet and talk Michael himself and noted the opposites and similarities (with Michael being a successful architect but being more self-centered to the point of pushing anyway his family, and having an "Angel" show him the error of his ways and showing what he would have missed). As such, the two also get along pretty well.
* Was very disturbed when he found out there were people who thought [[MisaimedFandom Pottersville was a cool place]] with all those clubs and what not. This is despite the fact the place was utterly corrupt, with many living miserable lives. George pointed to the numerous casinos and brothels, which he views them as a place where sin thrives. With some modern corporations often ruin people's life too, sometimes taking advantage of people in small towns, there are luckily some people who are understood what George has gone through.
* George distrusts any crooked and corrupt business people in general for taking advantage of those who are in need and especially if they are desperate. Does not care very much for Mr. Burns as his entire character reminds him of Mr. Potter. Though, he doesn't understand how one minute he could be [[PetTheDog less evil]] than Potter and other times [[KickTheDog be worse]] than him. He also dislikes Seto Kaiba. This is because he heard how he made two million in buying a family company and basically blackmailing them to buy it back, or he fires everybody in the company.
* One of George's lifelong dreams was being able to travel across the world. Unfortunately, he had to forsake his dreams in order to take over and run his father's loaning business after he passed away. While he couldn't do that in his former life, with his ascension, he is able to finally fulfil that dream. It isn't just limited to global traveling, as he was giving permission, with a special pass, to enter certain other universes. Though, to be on the safe side, a representative of that world does chaperone him. George also got a chance to do a bit of architecting for the pantheon and helping with remodeling and rebuilding any temples that get wreck. It happens more often than you think.
* As he was saved by the Angel Clarence, George has massive respect to many of the good Angels here. He respects Dudley, the representative for Guardian Angles, not just because he also happens to have Clarence serve as his High Priest. Even angels who are just as flawed as humans, like Castiel, he has respect for and believes that they can still do good themselves. It's unknown how he feels about the fallen ones, however.
* Often visits the House of Pantheon/{{Despondency}} to help others overcome their suicidal thoughts by sharing his experiences. He wants to help others the way Clarence helped him. He has conflicting opinions on people who committed SuicideForOthersHappiness. On one hand, he was saddened, even that he views suicide as a sin from God, illegal and also wished they had found other solution that didn't come to that opinion. On the other hand, knowing that it is like to be in that position, he's sympathetic to them somewhat.
* During UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, his family helped with the war effort in supporting roles. His brother Harry serve as a pilot and became a war hero. George himself never became a solder on account of his deaf left ear; instead he stayed home as an air raid warden as well as running the local scrap drives. George was proud to hear when his brother as awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his efforts. Had he not saved his brother from a frozen lake when they were kids (where he caught an infection resulting in hearing lost in his left ear), Harry would have not been there to save those people on the transport ship. George certainly didn't expect other soldiers from the Allied side to be deified too, but whenever he meets any of them, he paid respects to them for serving their country.
* George befriended several children in the Pantheon too. He became good friends with Sara Crewe after learning about how she was financially troubled after her father’s death yet was able to have her fortunes recovered. The girl looks up to him as a father figure. He also became very close to Charlie Brown when he learned of the bald kid's determination despite his constant failures. Hearing Pollyanna Whittier's story sort of reminded him of his own, as her endless optimist helped the people in her town, and they were able to her by lifting her spirits up when she was at her lowest.
* Christmas became a special time for him, as that was the day he was given a second chance at life. He's a good friend with a lot of Christmas related deities (save for [[Pantheon/{{Celebration}} Santa Claus]] despite both being altruistic, mostly because he hasn't met him yet). He also has another reason why Christmas was special for him: He was informed that when his movie first came out, it flopped and its obscurity lead to it being forgotten and put into the public domain. The film was rediscovered and interest for it was revived when TV stations started playing it during Christmastime to fill in their holiday time slots. In a way, just like the man himself, the film was also given a second chance at life.
*** The reason why George knows [[https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/the-odd-places-it-s-a-wonderful-life-has-turned-up/ his story comes in the form of a film in other realms]] is he had meetings with other people who say they had seen him before their ascension. One of those people is Bruce Nolan, who credits him for the idea of pulling the moon closer to impress his girlfriend (which he didn't know at the time, was a bad idea). Other deities include [[Pantheon/CouplesRelationships Samuel Malone]], who saw the film in the bar he was tending. [[Pantheon/{{Musicality}} Paul McCartney]], who liked the film, is planning to write [[https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-49014762 a musical play based on his story]]. However, he's a bit tight-lipped on the details about it.
* Many are upset that George never got even against Potter for all the crap he gave him. Rumor has it that there was an alternate outcome of Clarence the Angel giving a ReasonYouSuckSpeech to Potter. George eventually has come to know that Mr. Potter was the one who hid the money that his uncle misplaced. He decided to let it slide out of respect for the holidays and because he couldn't generate proof anyway beyond just a hearsay. George would lie if he didn't find that [[Series/SaturdayNightLive one alternative scenario]] where he and the townspeople found out where the money went and [[https://youtu.be/vw89o0afb2A?si=oD8QrVnOiUaiw4vw decided to just beat up Mr. Potter]], quite cathartic.
* He sometimes hangs out with Peter Warne and Ellie Andrews due to sharing [[Creator/FrankCapra a mortal superior]], and can be seen sharing his exploits with them. He also made friends with L. B. "Jeff" Jefferies and Jeff Smith. The two Jeffs admire George for being a hard-working, honest and kind-hearted man. George, in turn, admires their respective feats. It helps that they all [[Creator/JimmyStewart look very similar to each other]]. Scottie Ferguson, on the other hand, envies George for having a Wonderful Life, unlike his tragic ending. He avoids George, as the sight of his happy family would break him down (not helping by [[Creator/JimmyStewart the fact they look alike]]). After hearing his tragic story, George sends holiday wishes every Christmas for Scottie in the hopes of cheering him up like he did during the same time of year.

* Herbert George Wells, or H.G. Wells for short, was an English writer from the late 19th and early 20th centuries famous for writing classics like ''Literature/TheTimeMachine'' and ''Literature/TheWarOfTheWorlds''. Along with Creator/JulesVerne, he was an important [[TropeCodifier codified]] of many ScienceFiction traits that would become popular in later stories. A socialist and futurist who predicted ideas ranging from aircraft to even something akin to the World Wide Web, his stories tended to have titles [[HighConcept that swiftly described the plot]]. For example ''Literature/TheInvisibleMan'' is a story of an [[InvisibleJerkass invisible]] VillainProtagonist. He was a pacifist who believed in humanity's eventual growth, but also foresaw terrible new inventions like the concept of a nuclear bomb. He'd pass away about a year after that invention came to a reality.
* Many of his characters have been around for so long [[PublicDomainCharacter they've entered public domain]], which has led to various adaptations and characterizations. One notable adaptor was [[Pantheon/{{Storytelling}} Alan Moore]], who reimagined the Invisible Man and Mr Hyde ''ComicBook/TheLeagueOfExtraordinaryGentlemen'' comic. While Wells believes Moore made a compelling version of Mr Hyde, he does question his decision to inflict KarmicRape on the Invisible Man. Admittedly said adaptation [[AdaptationalVillainy made the latter an even worse person]] [[SerialRapist guilty of more perversions]], but he feels it's a tad too edgy for his tastes. That said, he still thinks Moore is a good writer.
* Is most pleased by [[Pantheon/TypesOfPopularity Winnie the Pooh]] and friends as they proved one of his students, A.A Milne, went on to be an iconic writer in his own right. He's also happy to hear [[Pantheon/{{Musicality}} the Beatles]] included him on one of their covers, even if they aren't fans of his persay. The House of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection was somewhat pleased with Wells' ascension as much like Albert Einstein, who also has similar pacifistic beliefs,[[GiveGeeksAChance his nerdy exterior]] makes it easy to forget [[TheCasanova he's quite the lady killer]], having had an open marriage and a number of mistresses. Wells and Einstein had more serious concerns than picking up chicks together, though; Wells had predicted an atom bomb would be invented, and Einstein was involved with the Manhattan Project...so the two are cynical about anything in the pantheon associated with nuclear power and radiation.
* H.G Wells' ascension was promoted under one of his own characters, the Time Traveler. Wells has denied the latter being an AuthorAvatar, but they share a desire to know and explore. More, there was the reveal Wells himself [[BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy may have been a time traveler]]. This incarnation was [[BigBadFriend unwitting friends]] with none other than Jack the Ripper, or as he knew him [[MadDoctor Doctor John Stevenson]]. The latter stole his time machine and they'd clash in 1979 San Francisco. After the whole incident Wells tried to lock down his time machine, [[ComicBook/TalesFromTheBullyPulpit but Teddy Roosevelt stole it]]. However he did so to fight Nazis and many other badass activities, so Wells is going to allow it.
* Asides from time travel, he is also a companion of Lex the Bookworm. The two worked together to thwart Big(ger) Brother from erasing all book information from all libraries everywhere and everywhen. Being an author and a futurist, he had more than a personal stake in working with Lex and is happy to work with him again. To absolutely no shock, H.G Wells '''despises''' Big Brother and INGSOC. Their nihilistic, psychopathic ideology of "controlling the past to control the future", using a ForeverWar to maintain control, belief that ignorance is strength and desire to make the future "[[DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans a boot stomping on a human face forever]]" [[ForTheEvulz because they're a bunch of sadists]] is completely antithetical to everything Wells believes. And he can only hope they '''NEVER''' become a reality.
* Wells isn't all that happy to learn that 1979, or the 21st century hasn't managed to achieve the utopia he hoped. However he was also nervously pleased that despite the nuclear stockpile, humanity has avoided [[WorldWarIII using them in any war]] beyond the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He remains hopeful that TheFutureWillBeBetter. For his own sake, the Doctor chose not to reveal the [[BadFuture bad futures]] in different corners of TheMultiverse. Unsurprisingly the two have past history: [[Recap/DoctorWhoS22E5Timelash their time travel adventure]] [[BeenThereShapedHistory inspired him to write sci-fi]]. H.G. Wells is a pacifist who believes mankind must work together, which is why he's taken a liking to Emmet Brickowski and his belief that everything is awesome. Naturally he's also existentially horrified by the Lich due to being the spirit of a nuclear weapon [[OmnicidalManiac embodying everything terrible]] about such power used for war[[note]]as mentioned he predicted the atom bomb[[/note]].
* H.G. Wells did not invent time travelling as a story concept, but he did invent the modern sci-fi form. The Pantheonic Time Police decided it might be worth showing him how the concept has expanded since his time, though this was mainly done by Beerus' pressuring; [[TimeTravelTaboo he hates time travel]] and wanted to scold and blame Wells for it...didn't help some versions of Wells are time travelers. Wells felt this scolding was unfair, [[JerkassGods which it was but that's Beerus for you]]. Bob and George didn't scold him, but they aren't fond of him either because they've had too many frustrating time travel events to deal with and aren't happy to meet a popularizer of their bugbear. Despite all of this, Wells has enjoyed meeting the Pantheonic Time Police because he's fascinated by how the sub-genre of science fiction has expanded over a century.
* Someone with second-hand time travel experience who '''really''' wanted to meet Wells was George [=McFly=], a fellow science fiction writer and naturally a big fanboy of Wells' work. The 19th century author was impressed by George's growth as a person, and the family he made. His son Marty, and Doc Brown, were pretty happy to meet Wells as he's an amiable man who in a metafictional way holds a lot of importance to them. In fact one of his great-grandchildren, Simon, was a consultant for ''Film/BackToTheFuturePartII''. Barry Allen is another fan of Wells' work, having read ''The Time Machine'' as a kid. He was a bit surprised to also learn Wells ReallyGetsAround, [[TheCasanova having had a number of trysts and mistresses]]. [[SelfDeprecation Well had a good sense of humor over it]], noting "I was never a great amorist, though I have loved several people very deeply".
* No points for guessing beforehand, but H.G. Wells is a staunch opponent of many who glorify and embrace war as a lifestyle. In many ways they represent his fears found in works like "The War in the Air" and "The Shape of Things To Come" touched on; a LensmanArmsRace [[WarIsHell as war becomes more of a meat grinder]]. Many members there called him "an idealistic child" for his belief for the latter work suggesting a terrible enough war would lead humanity into being pacifists as a result. Due to his views, some have wondered how H.G. Wells might feel about the Gundam Meisters. He's somewhat off-put by them using conflict to stop conflict, [[HypocrisyNod which they are more than aware of]], however he does believe they have a good cause
* Out of many of such warmongers in the Pantheon, H.G. Wells holds the most contempt in his heart for the Major, head of the {{Ghostapo}} Millennium. He's a Nazi[[note]]the same group that warred with England in the later years of Wells' life[[/note]] who wants to bring about [[ForeverWar unending war]] [[BloodKnight because he really likes war]]. As in "[[ForTheEvulz likes to watch]] [[Film/TheDarkKnight the world burn]]" kind of guy. [[GoodCannotComprehendEvil Wells cannot even conceive of why someone would want war for its own sake]] and feels he's better off not knowing. A cynical part of him fears that a worse enough war might instead lead humanity to its own extinction, which is why the GUAD are terrifying to him; ''especially'' the Lich. [[TheDreaded Which is justified]], but for Wells the Lich [[NuclearMutant is also an embodiment of MAD and nuclear weapons]]; Wells actually speculated of atomic weapons long before they were made.
* H.G Wells' most persistent political ideal was the World State, or OneWorldOrder. This '''obviously''' isn't the kind of order HYDRA would want, as their evil naturally repulses them. It's more an idea of humanity uniting together for the common good. He'd argue that the Alliance Of Free Stars is kind of like what he wants, and he likes that the group of different species united together. While Wells did pen one of the earliest AlienInvasion stories (also serves as criticism of British imperialism) they proved to have a number of friendly aliens. Wells also found the Blorg Commonality's spirit of camraderie to be admirable, though [[TheFriendNobodyLikes they were still somewhat repulsive to him as they tend to be]]. Another alien he's positive on is Jazz due to his appreciation of Earth culture. Being a writer, this makes him smile.
* Having conceived of one of the first and more iconic idea of the {{Martians}}, he wasn't all that happy with the Mars People or ''Film/MarsAttacks'' aliens being so malicious. [[HypocrisyNod He's of course aware of the irony of saying this]], and that's partly the reason. Plus at least the Tripod Martians were essential human if in the "flawed, imperialist" type. They didn't kill ForTheEvulz like the the latter Martians Wells opposes. However there was a Martian who proved compassionate and came to love humanity: J'onn J'onnz, the Martian Manhunter. The two enjoy talking with each other on optimistic futures and hopes they have for a better tomorrow.
* Wells had mused on the nascent concept of the League of Nations in the spring of 1918 (''In The Fourth Year'' was the collection), so he was interested in the actual League's successor, the United Nations, in the Trope Pantheon. More specifically the organization it backs; the Global Occult Coalition. As they deal with what he only thought of as speculative fiction, he naturally finds them interesting. Wells showed some interest in Repliforce as well; as a group of androids seeking independence and unity under a RobotRepublic, he felt they were a curious concept given time to explore in a sci-fi setting. However he's not the one to go to for classic robot stories...that's probably a job for Creator/IsaacAsimov.
* Fairly please by the House of Pantheon/MachineryAndTechnology. Even in "present day" settings he looks at wonder with the many new inventions. As mentioned, he anticipated some of them: he came up with the idea of a "World Brain", detailed in his essay of being a synthetic source of information to be used globally. He did not predict such a World Brain would manifest as cute anime girls like [[Pantheon/AnalysisAndRecords Wikipe-tan and Trope-tan]], though. Nor did he think [[TheInternetIsForPorn it would store so much pornography]] either, though [[TheCasanova given his personal life]] maybe he should have. H.G. Wells has often talked with a couple other noted futurists in the pantheon, that being Tony Stark and Reed Richards.
* A lesser-known story of Wells’, though famous nonetheless, is ''Literature/TheFirstMenInTheMoon'', where two men use the [[AntiGravity power of]] [[AppliedPhlebotinum Cavorite]] in order to go [[TripToTheMoonPlot to the moon]]. Though cavorite has since been then used in other worlds and stories in science fiction, [[PublicDomainCanonWelding one realm in particular felt closest, at least in Wells’ eyes, to what]] he intended the world to look like when he first wrote the book- [[Anime/PrincessPrincipal the Kingdom & Commonwealth of Albion]]. Not only did Ange & Princess’ world feel extremely close to [[PhlebotinumInducedSteampunk what Wells had in mind]], references that Ange ”lies” with (“Black Lizard Planet”, anyone?) as well as mentions of the Selenites highly imply them to be in the same time era as when ''The First Men In The Moon'' occurred. In fact, by asking them through telegram, Wells was offered a thankfully undisturbed personal tour of both sides of Albion, whose offerings and rendition of his book’s setting impressed him greatly.

* After a corporation officially adopted him as a baby, Truman Burbank's whole life has been documented and broadcasted for the whole world to see (all the while being unaware that he's being filmed). The show's production even had the ''wild'' idea of building a dome around him, with a fake town with lots of hidden cameras to capture Truman's authentic emotions. To prevent Truman from ever leaving the set or even desiring to leave his town, the show's creator and director Christof decided to scare young Truman by making him witness his (in-show) father's "death" (developing a fear for the water in the process) as well as frequently broadcasting messages against travelling out of town. Everything on the show would run smoothly for many decades until one day, Truman begins to notice several unusual things happening to him. A random spotlight falling from the sky, a random radio signal telling what he's doing at the moment, or his dead father seemingly appearing back into his life. Convinced that someone is watching him and questioning everything he has ever known, Truman tries to leave town to find his former crush Sylvia, who was taken away from him many years ago for trying to reveal the truth of his existence to him. Almost everyone else in the production tries to prevent him from escaping by putting increasingly elaborate ruses to block him. Truman, however, is determined to leave, even going so far as to face his fear of the water by crossing a bridge and later sailing his boat though the artificial lake and eventually reaching the end of the dome. Christof then reveals himself to Truman, tells him the truth about his life but tried to convince him to stay inside. But Truman faces his supposed audience, says his greetings one last time and leaves the dome; cancelling the show in the process.
* Due to the show's simple premise & relatability, the show was even popular with the gods at the Trope Pantheon, who were invested in Truman's life since the first airing of the show in Pantheonic TV. Although some deities (like the viewers in Truman's realm) got over the show after it ended, there are those who wanted to know what happened to the former star after his story ended. Unfortunately, there was no known official records of what happened to him after exiting the dome. The deities who feel sorry for him and those who think he deserved a title for his bravery decided to make an ascension request for the former star. After the request was approved, there were several attempts to bring him into the Pantheon without much success, as Truman ignored all the invitation letters sent to him. It was only after several representatives from the Pantheon were able to get in contact with the "Free Truman" group [[note]] which aims to have Truman released from the dome and end the show and has Sylvia as one of their members [[/note]] under the guise of wanting to help the former star have a better life, were they able to get in touch with Truman himself. It was tough convincing a skeptical former star to become a God representing those whose lives were secretly filmed for a RealityTV show, as he feared he would be held and setup for other show yet again. It was only after being told that he can bring his lover Sylvia as his herald and that he can return to the mortal realm and surrender his title anytime he pleased, did Truman reluctantly agreed to stay.
* Ever since his ascension, Truman is currently seeking therapy treatment in order to overcome his trauma brought upon from his experiences (namely his recent near-death experience, his difficulty to trust anyone who isn't Sylvia or the "Free Truman" movement members and adjusting to a "normal" unscripted lifestyle). It was somewhat difficult considered he is almost 30 by the time he discovered the truth about his life, but good-aligned therapist in the Pantheon promised to try their best. He recently learns of the real life mental condition named after him "Truman Show Delusion", in which the person believes they were being watched as part of a TV show or have cameras everywhere watching their every move. Truman doesn't exbibit those delusions himself (since most of his suspicions came from justified observations) but he pities those who are suffering from this mental anguish and hope they would get help they need like he does.
* To this day, Truman refuses to disclose what happened to him after he exited the dome. He even refuses to disclosed whether he has travelled to Fiji or not. Sometime after staying in the realm for a while, he became more comfortable discussing his life in the Pantheon. When he's not feeling distrusting about the people he meets, Truman is a friendly guy who likes to do small chats to the people he knows and trusts. Still, as he only got out of the dome recently, it took him a bit of time to get used to the fanatical stuff in the Pantheon (on top of a new normal life like in the mortal realm). However, since reuniting with Sylvia, he seems to be back to his old cheery self again, provided that you don't piss him off by randomly pestering him (like some fans and paparazzi would do).
* Because of his unique condition and life, Truman quickly had a variety of different allies who pity or sympathetic to aspect of his situation:
** He quickly discovers he's not the only one who was secretly filmed for a television audience. Apparently, Homer Simpson did this happened to him about a handful of times (all of those time were not good for him). The 10-year-old Timmy Turner was also a subject of a reality show, in which the whole audience of fairies would secretly watch his escapades. Truman certainly didn't approve his solution of getting out of his contact by [[spoiler:having [[Pantheon/{{Subjects}} Denzel Crocker]] replace him]] (he would prefer if the whole show was cancelled), but he's glad Timmy was clever enough to get out of that situation. Another boy, Greg Heffley, thinks he himself was on a TV show because he watched a movie similar to Truman's experiences, to the point that he thinks everyone he knows are all just actors and robots. Greg tried to prove this by spraying his dad with a hose but was grounded for it. Not wanting to leave it to chance if it was true, Truman promised to look into these claims further to help the boy out.
** The duck turned magical girl Princess Tutu (aka Ahiru) and animal-themed superhero Animal Man had their [[RageAgainstTheAuthor fair share of encounters with the creators of their respective worlds]]. Their creators Drosselmeyer and "[[Main/AuthorAvatar The Writer]]", who were sadistic by letting their creations suffer for entertainment, were the main source of their troubles. That's perhaps why they are impressed that Truman, a powerless human, [[RageAgainstTheAuthor revolted against his creator Christof]], survived a horrible storm the production generated that nearly killed him and knowingly chose to step out of the unknown to start living in the outside world. Truman, in turn, after hearing their stories, sympathized with them and REALLY hated their creators for the torture they have put their characters through.
** While Truman was never forced to kill anyone during his time in the spotlight, he still feels shocked and pitiful for those who are forced to do so, especially if they were children. He approached Shuichi Saihara due to their similar bad experiences with Reality TV [[spoiler:and their attempts to escape from it]], and they have been good allies ever since. Katniss Everdeen sympathize with Truman for also being exploited for entertainment, saying that she is sorry that he was being unaware of his situation his entire life. Truman felt sorry for her for being forced to participate in The Hunger Games as a sacrifice. It helps that both of them eventually found the strength to take control of their life. On a similar note, while their situation of being trapped in a TV show due to being tricked by the devil rather than something more grounded, Roy and Helen can't help but pity Truman for being stuck on TV his whole life when they had his story.
** In a lot of ways, Truman also sympathized Stanley's situation; from discovering that [[spoiler:he and his co-workers are secretly being filmed and monitored for their boss' nefarious plans]] to being railroaded by an omniscient voice in order to follow his story. Finding similar to how his show's creator wanted to him to follow a specific storyline for him (like not letting him leave town or have him be with "Meryl" instead of Sylvia), he dislikes Stanley's Narrator for his controlling ways. Having experience with being put into a specific story path and wanting to break from it, he gained both the sympathy and respect for Stanley's allies ICEY and Old Man Henderson.
** Although Jonas and Jimmy's reasons for being sheltered are different, their stories are no less relatable for Truman. Having also been isolated within a community with a dark secret, Jonas was glad for Truman was able to escape after learning the truth. Jimmy, on the other hand, was isolated and keep in a bubble due to being born without an immune system ([[spoiler:but kept being in the bubble despite gaining an immune system since he was 4 as a lie by his overprotectiveness mother]]). Truman personally finds Jimmy's efforts to reunite with his crush Chloe heartwarming, as someone who also tried ([[spoiler:and succeed]]) with reuniting with Sylvia.
** Deadpool felt oddly sympathetic to Truman due to how he recognized his status as the "main character" of a show. However, Truman is annoyed with Deadpool's craziness and usually avoid him. For the most part, Truman doesn't like the idea that he himself is a fictional character, as he doesn't want things to revolve around him and preventing him to do what he wants. Viola (from Cassette Beasts group) had a brief existential crisis when she learned she was a fictional character in some universes, specifically when she found out she was actually Viola of Messaline from [[Pantheon/TheatreAndSpectacle William Shakespeare]]'s ''Twelfth Night''. But that information did not deter her from defying her fate and forge her own path in her current universe. Due to their determination to be independent as well as knowing the pains of having to lose (and try to reunite) with their loved one, both Truman and Viola gained mutual respect for each other.
* In [[Series/WandaVision one of her versions]], Wanda Maximoff was a powerful witch who, [[spoiler:in grief of losing her lover Vision, trapped a town into a Hex]] and turning it into an idyllic fake town not unlike Truman's former hometown. It was only after realizing the truth about her powers and getting over her grief did she remove the Hex [[spoiler:and freeing the townspeople]]. Truman feels sympathetic to Wanda since he knows what it is like to lose someone close to him (at least twice). At the same time, he doesn't approve having people being trapped against their will and forcing to live what they think is their ideal life. Wanda, upon hearing Truman's story, only felt more guilt for what she had done. Understandably, the two have yet to talk to each other personally about their situations.
* Because of his experience, he ''really'' dislikes the House of Theater due to how he recognizes the situation of the characters in the plays the House usually performed. Although he understands that they are only doing what they are told for their roles, Truman still finds it hard to trust many deified actors in general. He also harbors a distaste for TV producers as well due to the fact that the creatives behind the show put him into his situation in the first place. He also dislikes being seen on camera. This is why he doesn't like most reporters and paparazzies, especially the sleazy ones.
* There were several attempts to recreate The Truman Show's concept in the Pantheon (from a single person to planetary-wide surveillance), most to fill the void left by the original show's cancellation. However, all of them had massive pushbacks due to Truman and Sylvia's protest efforts. Disgusted by the idea of various groups trying to unknowingly using people for entertainment, they make sure that those kinds of shows don't even make it into production once their allies let them know those were in the works. Truman and his various allies are also one of the reasons why various 'live' {{Deadly Game}}s like Literature/TheHungerGames, [[Franchise/{{Danganronpa}} The Killing Game]] or [[VideoGame/MadWorld Death Watch]] have not been recreated yet in the Pantheon. The Death Watch commentators [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Howard and Kreese]] are quick voice their frustrations about it in one of their broadcasts.
--> '''Kreese''': I heard yet another live {{Deadly Game}}show is supposedly in the works on Pantheon TV, with rumors that annoying Tsumugi girl we talked about the other day being their one of their co-creators.
--> '''Howard''': Good fucking luck getting that greenlit while Truman, his hot girlfriend and his cronies are still around. I say it's certainly better than those reality shows where they just film a random guy 24/7 where nothing happens.
--> '''Kreese''': You know, I remember watching that finale and thought the show finally got exciting when they show Truman's corpse after that storm. Him being alive was the biggest fucking let down since they faked-killed his dad.
--> '''Howard''': Seriously, I think that show should have used more carnage if the writers wanted to keep show alive.
--> '''Kreese''': Tru that.
* To be told, Truman is not a particularly religious man. Sure, he did talk to a man in the sky that claims to be his creator (which some religious people and film analysists took it as a metaphor for seeing God). However, in hindsight, he was only talking to a mere old man that was speaking to him in an intercom above. He doesn't really know what to think about actual gods in the Pantheon other than express his displeasure about the gods who want to control over the lives of mortals. He certainly hated [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] for wanting to create a WorldOfSilence, not unlike how Truman's life was completely controlled by the media company filming it. He also hated the god who also goes by [[spoiler:Chuck Shurley]] for manipulating his world for his own entertainment.
* Truman used to have a job as a life insurance salesman and hasn't returned to that job since entering a private life in the mortal realm nor being a deity in the Pantheon. Not that it would suit him to return anyway since his job was never real and that people on this realm get to be revived anyway, making selling life insurance kind of worthless. With that free time, Truman decided to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming an explorer as there's no one preventing him for travelling anymore. In most recent days, Truman likes to travel a lot, sometimes with Sylvia, sometimes by himself. You can often see him travelling in the House of Pantheon/{{Travel}} and its sub-house of Pantheon/{{Touring}}, riding around to visit various destinations in the Pantheon. Of course, not all off the places in this realm are safe, and Truman learned the hard way to not ignore people's warnings sometimes, with him nearly getting himself killed again. But overall, he's glad of the freedom he has gained since exiting the dome.
** In the past, Truman's fear of the water was so bad that even standing in a port or looking at a submerged boat in the shore would make him really anxious. Ever since conquering his fear of the open water, Truman's also retaking boating lessons for fun and as exposure therapy. So far, he's met one other person who manages overcome their fear of the water. That being the heroic Finn the Human, who had done so to fulfil the dying wish of his idol as well as killing the physical manifestation of his fear. One deity jokingly suggest Truman should meet [[Pantheon/WaterAndMoisture The Nuckelavee]], a horse-like fairy creature that cannot stand freshwater (and only freshwater) and refuses to cross any rivers or streams. But given its evil nature, Finn warned him not to meet it. Thankfully, due to his recent travel experiences in the Pantheon, Truman listened to Finn's advice.
* About Sylvia & Meryl: She was just a background extra who goes by "Lauren" whom Truman had a crush on when he was in college. Because she was not Truman's intended love interest and also because she tried to tell him the truth about the show while together on the beach, she was taken away right in front of Truman by her 'father' (who was also an actor) who told him she was going away to Fiji. In the years since, he kept her memory alive by keeping her sweater, remembered the real name she told him and making a picture of her face from collage of various face parts from magazines he ripped away, hoping that one day he would leave his town and go to Fiji to see her again. In the meantime, he married another college student Meryl (as a rebound, as one viewer speculated), although they don't have much in common interest wise. Due to Meryl only being concerned about her acting role and Truman's increasing paranoia, their relationship imploded due to Truman's furious outburst and her not being able to be address his emotional concerns.
** One of the few things Truman was willing to disclose about his mortal life was that he is now dating Sylvia. Being one of the few people he's met who didn't try to deceive him, she has been a big help to him in his transition to the outside world. During one of their travels, they often visited the House of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection. They often get support from couples (and even some siblings) who also were separated due to tragic circumstances. For example, in one of the subhouses, they met [[Pantheon/{{Romance}} Gabe & Rosewood and Kotaro & Akane]] who are two couples that started their relationship at a very young age, though circumstances ended with them getting separated. Truman relates to Gabe in having to lost his first lost (although thankfully Gabe's separation from Rose is less tragic) and advice him to keep his memories of her close with him in the hope he may one day be ready to continue their relationship. Being a couple who would reconnect (via a long relationship) and later resume their relationship, Kotaro and Akane feels pity for what happened to Truman and Sylvia but they were glad they had a happy ending to their story.
* One day, Truman had a worried suspicion that the entire Tropes Pantheon might be a fake created by a bunch of people on the internet for entertainment... No, it couldn't be, thought Truman. Some deified conspiracy theorists encouraged him to look into his suspicious further. He asked several deities (including those with MediumAwareness) for back up his claims but none of them had the heart to tell him the truth. He eventually learned the truth (by visiting the Hall of Pantheon/{{Metafiction}} no less) and he and Sylvia marched into The Court of the Gods angrily demanding answers. The High Court told the truth and said it was standard procedure to record the activities of any ascended deity, with interactions orchestrated by powers beyond their comprehension. The reason why they didn't tell him sooner was because they are bound by the mechanics of the trope he was holding. That said, his allies and the friendships he made with them are genuine and unlike his show, there was never done of malice but to give him a better life in the Pantheon compared to his time in the mortal realm. They do understand should he would try to renounce his title after knowing the truth. After much thinking, Truman decided to still keep the title, deciding to use it to help those who are in a similar situation as him. However, he makes a request to ''never'' record his activities without his direct permission moving forward and exercise his right to only share what he is willing to share.
* Recently had [[WebVideo/FreshyKanal visions that he was in a rap battle with a strange red hairy string creature]], who proceed to insult him and his upbringing (by saying he's a spoiled brat for wanting to leave instead of staying in a town that would keep him safe). Truman then insults the creature by saying he and his friends are uncreative and unoriginal. At the end of his vision, Truman discovers he was in a set all along and even his opponents were all just costumes and puppets. This distresses Truman but was later informed that it might be visions from another alternative universe. After quite a bit of researching, Truman discovers these creatures are actually exist and happened to be deities themselves. The Red Guy (his opponent) in particular found him to be relatable for the former star being that he too was aware that things are not quite right in his world and wanted to escape from it. He then visited their temple but things didn't pan out as he hoped. On their first meeting, he got along really well with the trio and was close to telling about them living in a show had he not tried to leave early for a planned appointment. By their second meeting, [[LaserGuidedAmnesia they have forgotten their first meeting]] and dismisses Truman as being a nutter for trying reveal the truth to them or talk about what happened in his vision. Since he is being aware that the trio are stuck in a nightmare in their original realm and as a quasideity he can't do much about it, Truman can only feel pity in their situation and hopes they can break out of it one day.
* He had also found other deities (specifically Joel Barish, Stanley Ipkiss, Bruce Nolan) who [[Creator/JimCarrey look very similar to him]]. Truman didn't find it weird at first, thinking that he might have a long lost twin or sibling somewhere he could meet one day, but then he found out they are just {{identical stranger}}s. Still, they bonded over their complicated love lives and how relationship with their other halves made them into a better people. He is also friendly with The Grinch and Ebenezer Scrooge after visiting their hall on Christmas time, but didn't realized they sounded the similar to him sometime after. He also makes sure to avoid Count Olaf ad The Riddler due to their evil reputation. He makes sure to inform [[Pantheon/{{Superheroism}} Batman]] and [[Pantheon/ChildArchetypes The Baudelaire Orphans]] that he means no harm to them.
