In Useless, the third fourth story in Fanfic/TheNegotiationsverse, the series, Rainbow Dash admits that she can't understand why Equestria could not overcome the human race when she and her friends already fought against and defeated beings that were basically Physical Gods in comparison prior to before the transition to Earth. Celestia really shouldn't have pushed humanity against the wall.wall]].
** In the prequel story Warfare, Halberd Wings expresses a similar sentiment after the humans were able to successfully kill Luna in the Battle of Jerusalem. Choice expands on that - Shining Armor's death in the Battle of New York was a surprise sniper attack, at range, and with no warning. The death of Luna was not just the death of a royal family member, but the death of a goddess and proof that humanity was far more dangerous than the ponies had previously considered. Furthermore, Luna was fighting against enemies she knew were coming, and had defenses up against the humans... and she still lost.
** Celestia also expresses this in "Obsession", a chapter of Choice. She outright calls her ponies the pinnacle of harmony and righteousness, all the while being unable to comprehend why Equestria was losing.
** The AntiMagic Thalmann Generators were one for Equestria, since they canceled out the ponies' magic. As magic made up most of their defensive and offensive abilities, this was a serious blow to the ponies... one that they never recovered from.

* Fanfic/AIsA is one long series of Outside Context problems, but specific examples include:
** Reality, showing the Jaffa and Goa'uld being caught totally flatfooted by bending, with one Jaffa desperate to believe that it must be the same "magic" that the Goa'uld use.
** Operation: HIGHER EDUCATION throws this in the face of Team Rainbow, though Six swiftly pivots to put their new connection to the MVTF to good use as an outside-context problem to their advantage.
** Darkness drops Team Rainbow in against the inhabitants of Philadelphia, the local monsters and hunters both unprepared for the team's blitz through the city.
** The Philia Signal drops this hard on the MVTF, since no one expects a group like ZFT to exist anywhere near U-1923. This leaves 1st Platoon and the small Overwatch detachment totally lost when trying to respond.

The Abyss only exists in the Great Wheel. The Great Wheel does not connect to Eberron. It has its own cosmology. Khyber is the closest equivalent, comprising roughly the role of The Abyss merged with The Underdark. Therefore, it is the most likely place for a demon to be summoned from. However, as Khyber, Mabar, Daanvi, Thelanis, Fernia and Shavarath all contain demons and Risia and Xoriat also contain evil-aligned outsiders, i would ask that someone more familiar with the setting and the fic confirms the plane of origin for the demon. Anything with a darkness/underthings/entropy theme is likely Mabaran, anything with a theme of order or oppression is Daanvian, anything that seems out of a fairy tale or that acts more cartoonishly evil is probably Thelanian, anything with a fire/magma/earth/industry theme is Fernian, anything with a weapons/warfare/war crimes theme is Shavaran and anything that seems related to an overlord and/or doesn’t fit into a previously mentioned category is likely from Khyber.
