* ''Series/RFDS2021'': Pete spends most of season 2 dealing with the fallout from a rescue in the premiere. The on-call doctor was AWOL at the same time Leonie went in for a medical procedure, and the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locum locum]] that Leonie frantically called in inserted an airway too far. Pete realized on the flight home that the patient wasn't breathing properly, then the plane hit turbulence and he accidentally yanked the entire rig out. After failing to reinsert because the patient's throat swelled shut and a critical piece of equipment was left behind at the scene, he performed an emergency tracheostomy, but accidentally severed a nerve that had grown in the wrong place; the patient recovered but was rendered mute. The rescue is targeted for a critical incident review, and even though both Wayne and Eliza agree after the fact that Pete did the best he possibly could have done, [[spoiler:he ultimately has his nursing license suspended for six months after he loses his temper at a friend of the patient]].
