* ''X-Multiply'', an arcade game by Creator/{{Irem}} (developers of ''VideoGame/RType'') is quite possibly one of the most scariest and disturbing 2D side-scrolling shoot-em up games ever created for the arcade (on par or rivaling ''VideoGame/{{Splatterhouse}}''). The plot of the game is that a microscopic alien queen and its hordes has taken over a [[WombLevel human body]], and you, a fighter pilot, are microscopically shrunk along with your fighter to eradicate the alien completely. The game contains many surreal and disturbing images of both stages and enemies, complete with ''very creepy'' stages and music and ''[[FromBadToWorse even creepier boss designs]]'' that'll truly leave you very shaken and disturbed in due time, with alien designs more demonic than your usual and typical alien designs that made the creatures from ''VideoGame/{{Doom}}'', ''VideoGame/DeadSpace'', and even ''VideoGame/RType'' itself look like ''Franchise/HelloKitty''. It's quite safe to say that ''X-Multiply'' is truly not meant for the faint of heart, so check it out if you dare.

* ''Death Duel'' has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdQO-NlHxFE an unnerving Game Over sequence]] featuring what looks like a Grim Reaper standing over your corpse before the game goes into detail of how the Federation is doomed, and it's all your fault.

* The homebrew NintendoDS game, [=AlienDS=]. The game has no music other than a HeartbeatSoundtrack. Then you consider the fact that [[NothingIsScarier behind every door/corner, there could be an alien waiting to ambush you...]]

* ''Ganryu'', a platformer game released on the Neo Geo MVS based on Miyamoto Musashi's fight with Sasaki Kojiro, has had several bosses that appear rather disturbing. Some of them have their faces broken off to reveal gruesome muscle inside, and one of them turns its head into what appears to be that of a venus flytrap as it spits out several spiked spheres. Seriously, that game has some pretty fucked-up bosses to fight.
