* Deathcore: Along with Music/AllShallPerish, Music/DespisedIcon, and Music/Whitechapel, they became the poster children of the genre once it had established itself around the late 2000s. After the releases of their second and third albums, No Time To Bleed and The Black Crown, the band signed to the label Nuclear Blast. However, their trajectory would forever be altered on November 1, 2012, when Lucker died from severe injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. The band held a memorial show on December 21 to help support the future education costs of Lucker's daughter Kenadee (who was 5 at the time of his death), with a fund being started in her name that still exists and promotes donations today.

Almost a year of inactivity followed for the band before it was announced in October 2013 through their Facebook page that they would be continuing with Hernan "Eddie" Hermida on vocal duties. Their next releases were 2014's You Can't Stop Me, named after a song Lucker wrote before his death, and their self-titled fifth album, which unveiled a stylistic shift from deathcore to a more melodic sound reminiscent of nu metal. This shift divided critics and earned the ire of the majority of the band's fans, and the album also sold considerably less than You Can't Stop Me.

In 2018, it was later revealed that near the end of 2017, Hermida was involved in a sexual harassment scandal. Amid the fallout from the resulting PR fiasco, a song the band had made for VideoGame/DevilMayCry5 titled "Subhuman" had its music video and every appearance in trailers following the news removed by Creator/Capcom themselves. They later announced that they did not know about the scandal until after the song's completion, and opted to re-record Hermida's vocals with Michael Barr instead.

Suicide Silence are an American Deathcore band that formed in 2002.

The band originally formed with two vocalists, but only Mitch Lucker stayed due to the other getting fired. After a few demo releases, they got to record their Self titled EP, and afterwards, they decided that it would stick as a main band and not originally as a side project. After some lineup changes, they signed onto Century Media to record their debut album, hitting #94 at the Billboards 200. Due to this success, they took part in the Mayhem Festival 2008.

Afterwards, they got to working on No Time To Bleed, which had been worked on before MF 2008, and revealed a few songs that were played live at the Music as a Weapon fest. When it was finally released, it landed on #32 on the Billboard 200.

2011 saw the release of The Black Crown. They signed onto Nuclear Blast Afterwards. Disaster struck in November 1, 2012, when Lucker died from a motorcycle accident, effectively putting the band on hiatus due to Lucker being the main driving force of the band, and to help support his 5 year old daughter. The latest show was on the supposed doomsday of 2012.

On October 2, 2013, it was announced through a video on their Facebook page that they would be continuing the band with Hernan "Eddie" Hermida on vocal duties.

2014 is looking like a return to form of the band. That year, Suicide Silence released their fourth studio album titled You Can't Stop Me (named after a song Mitch wrote before his passing) in July 2014. A single titled Cease to Exist came out in May 2014 to positive reception. Live shows started happening again, starting with Soundwave in Australia, several appearances in Asia, and finally making their first American show with Eddie at the Golden God Awards 2014. Despite the untimely death of Mitch Lucker, it seems that the band is back on their feet.

In February 2017, Suicide Silence released their fifth studio album, which received a large backlash from its fanbase.

In September 2018, it was revealed that they would be performing a song for VideoGame/DevilMayCry5, Subhuman, to be used as Dante's battle theme. It, too, received extreme backlash. In addition, it was brought to light that earlier, near the end of 2017, current vocalist Eddie Hermida was involved in a sexual harassment scandal. The resulting PR kerfuffle caused Creator/Capcom themselves to delete the song's music video from Website/YouTube and edit out all instances of the song from new trailers. They later announced that they did not know about the scandal until after Subhuman had been completed, and in no uncertain terms would be distancing themselves from the collaboration, opting to re-record Hermida's vocals with those provided by Michael Barr, which garnered much better and positive reception compared to with Hermida's vocals. It's unknown what Hermida's status in the band is after the scandal, especially now in regards to his return to All Shall Perish.
