* YokoOhNo: Ironically, considering the TropeNamer, Linda [=McCartney=] is a pretty good example of this trope, especially her dubious contributions as a performer and songwriter in Music/{{Wings}}. Her standing with the fans improved significantly following her death and Paul's failed marriage to Heather Mills.

* AnalogyBackfire: The analogy of piano keys representing racial harmony in "Ebony and Ivory" falls apart when you try playing a C and a C-sharp at the same time. Musical notes that sit side-by-side on the keyboard do ''not'' get along, regardless of colour.

* WigDressAccent: During Beatlemania he took to wearing disguises so that he could wander the streets without being mobbed (and occasionally play pranks on the other Beatles and Brian Epstein). In one amusing incident, he was recognized by a bartender who wasn't fooled when Paul asked for "a drop o' the hard stuff" in an Irish accent. * IntentionallyAwkwardTitle: ''Kisses on the Bottom''. It's a line from "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," and in that context clearly refers to signing love letters with X's, but still... ''Paul''...

* ParentalSubstitute: Julian Lennon has admitted that he was ''much'' closer to Paul than his own father, especially during his early childhood and adolescence. When John deserted Julian and his mother, Paul stepped in as a role model and even wrote the song "Hey, Jude'' to console a young Julian over his parents' divorce.

* ElvisCostello: A brief songwriting partnership between [=McCartney=] and Costello yielded songs sprinkled over both artists' albums in the late 80s and early 90s. Four Costello/[=McCartney=] songs appeared on ''Flowers in the Dirt'', including the hit single "My Brave Face" and a [=McCartney=]-Costello duet, "You Want Her Too". Two songs on ''Off the Ground'' were Costello/[=McCartney=] compositions, as well as two songs on Costello's ''Spike'', two songs on Costello's ''Mighty Like a Rose'', and one on Costello's ''All This Useless Beauty''. One of the collaborations from ''Spike'', "Veronica", became one of the biggest hit singles of Costello's career. The pair planned to record an album together, but found that their approaches to recording were incompatible with one another.

HOW does this apply to Paul and John? Practically everyone who knew them (to say nothing of John and Paul themselves) have talked about how close they were and how much love and respect they had for each other, and they simply did not argue and insult each other constantly. Maybe the post-breakup antagonism would\'ve qualified them, except they had a reason for butting heads beyond \"they just do,\" it lasted about nine months, Paul decisively did not want to feud with John, and John expressed regret (in a vague and circumspect way) for Lennon Remembers/\"How Do You Sleep?\"/etc.
