Their debut album, ''White Noise'', was released in November of 2014, and features songs such as “My House”, “St. Patrick”, and “Holy”. This album, as well as the band's overall aesthetics, take lots of inspiration from ghosts, horror movies, and black and white imagery. They've also released music videos for each of the ten songs off the album (plus a bonus track), which are all loosely interconnected and meant to be watched in chronological order.[[note]]For those who don't know, the order goes [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2SWk859CEU “St Patrick”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aQz-aKvyQU “My House”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ3jl794mGs “White Noise”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktgKzlJ1EiU “Holy”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1y0y1EDcHM “Fire”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxyEwNE5QSs "Smoke"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfxUSA95mf4 "Ghosts" / "Let Them In"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ2rNvqiSWM “Eyelids”]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsH8qMjnjDI “Mirrors”]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0NqJgcbHe8 “You and I”]].[[/note]] Following the release of ''White Noise'', the band achieved sudden and somewhat unexpected success, being hailed “breakout band of 2014”, getting bumped up from side stage to main stage partway through Warped Tour 2015, and winning several awards.

* PocketDimension: It's possible that the mirror that shows up throughout the music videos is one, as we see the band taking baseball bats out of it in the music video for “St. Patrick”. It's not really explored in detail, though.
* PortalDoor: In the music video for “White Noise”, a door showing bright light, which is implied to be Lynn's path to the afterlife. Alex and Brian, who are not ghosts, end up going through it with her.

* BedsheetGhost: There are a few shots of Lynn as one in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aQz-aKvyQU the music video for “My House”]], {{foreshadowing}} her being an actual ghost in the next video.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: References to eyes missing their whites pop up a couple times, in songs such as “Waking Up” (“I can't see, the whites are missing from my eyes”) and “Mirrors” (“Your dead eyes before mine, the way they're missing their whites, yeah, they're just right”).

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: If you can believe it, they originally started as a ''{{metalcore}}'' band, complete with a second and male vocalist providing unclean vocals. He left almost immediately, and they quickly switched to the electro-pop sound they're known for.
* ElectromagneticGhosts: In the song and video for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ3jl794mGs “White Noise”]], Lynn, a ghost, is trying to reach out to the living, but isn't able to do more than cause this trope to happen, much to her frustration.
-->''It's hard to be what you need through a static screen\\
Been trying to speak for weeks and weeks\\
Open my mouth, all that comes out\\
Is white noise and incomprehensible sound\\
And all you ever do is turn me down''
* EyelessFace: In the music video for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj4iQItsJSY "What's Wrong"]], the blindfolded dinner guests are revealed to have eyeless faces beneath their coverings. By the end of the video, Lynn (or a version of her) has one too.
* GirlinessUpgrade: Lynn went platinum blonde for the second album cycle, lost the shaved eyebrow, and wears more makeup. Somewhat subverted by her still having the undercut and wearing suits.
* GoIntoTheLight: The bright white light behind the PortalDoor that Lynn's ghost (and Alex and Brian) enter at the end of the music video for “White Noise”. It supposedly brings them into whatever dimension they find themselves in during the music video for “Holy”, though what dimension that is exactly is unclear.
* HeteronormativeCrusader: According to an interview, Lynn wrote the song “Holy” about somebody she knew who was very much against her being gay and used their religion to justify their hate. As she points out in the song, people like that are very hypocritical, acting like they're better than anyone else when they're really only using religion to try and make themselves feel whole (and usually failing).
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: The lyrics of the song “Fire” are very insistent that the person that the song is about is going to destroy themselves, and that it's no one's fault but their own.
-->''What you give is what you get\\
And in your case that's nothing but guilt and regret\\
And all the flames you kept in your brain\\
Came out your lips and sent you straight into your own grave''

* MetalScream: Lynn's higher register vocals often fall into Type 4 territory. The bridge section of "What's Wrong" is a Type 3 and sounds like something that would come out of Sam Carter of Architects.

Added DiffLines:

PVRIS (pronounced “Paris”) is a synth/electro-pop band from Massachusetts. They were originally called Paris, but had to change the name due to legal reasons. The band consists of three members: Lyndsey “Lynn Gunn” Gunnulfsen (vocals/guitar), Alex Babinski (guitar/keyboard), and Brian [=MacDonald=] (bass/keyboard).

Their debut album, ''White Noise'', was released in November of 2014, and features songs such as “My House”, “St. Patrick”, and “Holy”. !!Tropes
*{{Adorkable}}: All three members of the band. Just watch any interview to see.
*AfterlifeAntechamber: It's possible that this is where the band ends up in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktgKzlJ1EiU the “Holy” music video]], though the exact nature of that dimension is not confirmed.
* BatterUp: Bats appear in the music videos for both [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2SWk859CEU “St. Patrick”]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1y0y1EDcHM “Fire”]], though it's the latter where they do the most damage, being used to smash up plate, [=TVs=], glasses, and other junk.
* DeliberatelyMonochrome: Most of their music videos, photoshoots, and other promotional images are either in black and white or are very desaturated, barring the occasional SplashOfColour.
And all you ever do is turn me down''
* GoIntoTheLight: The bright white light behind the PortalDoor that Lynn's ghost (and Alex and Brian) enter at the end of the music video for “White Noise”.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Lynn's full name is pretty rarely used.
* RuleOfThree: Referenced and employed in “Mirrors”:
-->''Say your name into a mirror three times, said it three times, said it three times''
* SplashOfColour: While most of their music videos don't employ a lot of colour, a brighter red shows up in two of them – Lynn's shirt in “White Noise” and some parts of “Fire”.
* TitleTrack: “White Noise”
* UnflinchingWalk: The end of the “Fire” music video has the three of them walking away from the fire they were using to burn stuff.
* WhoYouGonnaCall: Alex and Brian investigate Lynn-the-ghost in the music video for “White Noise”. They don't really do anything useful besides film everything and go where they're not supposed to, so they're likely not experts in their field.
