Like many lefty guitarists playing guitar right-handed was less of a conscious choice and more because he learned to play at home with used guitars and from chord books, which are nearly all written with right-handed players in mind.

In August 2018 the band announced a eighteen show residency in Las Vegas in April, June and July 2019. This went ahead, but was cut short due to the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic and a planned subsequent European tour was also postponed. Brad Whitford has gone on record with his doubts about the band ever performing together again, citing dysfunctional relationships between the band members and their advancing age (all of them are around seventy years old or more).
