** To Izzy. Both have [[TheMentallyDisturbed mental problems]] [[DisabilitySuperpower that give them a bunch of special abilities.]] But Mike has a known real-world condition whereas Izzy's exact condition [[AmbiguousDisorder is unclear]]. Izzy is [[CloudCuckooLander 100% divorced from reality]] whereas Mike is usually portrayed as an OnlySaneMan. And Izzy gleefully embraces her own weirdness while Mike is shy, reserved and [[FreakinessShame embarrassed about people finding out about his condition.]]

* Trent and [[Characters/TotalDramaCourtney Courtney]]: Both of them were major characters in Island who had major romance arcs with one of the final four contestants. Both of them were eliminated in the same way. Both of them promptly break up with their respective love interests in Action and are paranoid that their love interests are interested in the other one's love interest. Both are also rather easy to manipulate by playing on their relationships. However, Trent had natural chemistry with Gwen right from the very beginning, to the point that by Episode 5, Gwen was conceding, if reluctantly, that she had a crush on him, and Trent was acknowledging the same thing. Despite Trent abandoning Gwen to be buried alive, it was by accident, Trent was clearly guilt-ridden over it, and Gwen forgave him. While Heather did manage to damage their relationship briefly, once they learned the truth, the two reconciled and actually began to date. When Trent developed an obsession with Gwen, especially over concern about Duncan having a relationship with her, and begins to throw challenges purposefully, Gwen urges him to let her win fairly, and it is not until he does it again that she breaks up with him, and reluctantly urges Trent's team to vote him off. Although the breakup anger Trent, he acknowledges that he played a major role in it, defended Gwen from the other cast, and when Gwen does start dating Duncan, he accepts the relationship and moves on. By very stark contrast, Courtney frequently conflicted with Duncan, and although she had a crush on him, she would not hesitate to yell at him. Furthermore, the relationship was marred by abuse. Courtney frequently abandoned Duncan, injured and crippled him, and showed open disdain and hostility to Gwen over suspicions of the two involved. While Trent accepted Gwen for who she is, Courtney was adamant that Duncan had to change to be perfect. When Duncan voted her off at the end of Action, a furious Courtney swore bloody vengeance. Upon learning about Duncan and Gwen's relationship, Courtney could not move on and repeatedly tried to throw challenges to get the two eliminated while flatly refusing to accept her role in Duncan's decision to leave her.

* Lightning to Tyler: Both are [[{{Determinator}} determined]] athletes who are very confident in their abilities, and tend to be TheDitz (although Lightning more so than Tyler). Additionally, both have similar catchphrases (Lighting's "Sha-Bam!" And Tyler's "Extreeeme!"). But unlike Tyler, who often [[SmallNameBigEgo overestimates what he’s capable of]] but is otherwise friendly with his competitors, Lightning backs up his claims and excels in anything physical, but is a SoreLoser to the point where it makes him undergo a FaceHeelTurn upon Scott's elimination.

* Sam to Trent. Both characters are among the more ordinary contestants of their generations, {{Nice Guy}}s, and major [[IronButtMonkey pain magnets]] of their debut season who were heavily involved in romantic plots with a girl (Gwen and Dakota respectively) and played a major role in helping said girl develop as a character. However, similar to the Trent and Mike example above, whereas Trent is a smooth, handsome, and confident ChickMagnet, Sam is instead a scruffy, overweight nerd with a low opinion of himself.

** He is practically a SpearCounterpart to Courtney. Both Courtney and Dave have an uptight and neurotic personality, and both have a tendency to whine when things don't go their way. Also, much like with Courtney's situation, a toxic relationship with another person leads to Dave's SanitySlippage.
** To Mike. Both have a similar color scheme and a mental disorder that proves to be troublesome and are part of a couple (with Sky and Zoey respectively) that serve as a major plot throughout their seasons. However, while their relationships seem similar at first, they end up going in near opposite directions. Both relationships involved trust issues between the two lovers, but for Mike and Zoey, it was the boy keeping secrets while for Dave and Sky, it was the girl who is withholding the truth. Mike was able to pull through due to [[ThePowerOfLove his love of Zoey]], while it's Dave's love for Sky that destroyed him and left him a wreck. Mike ended up getting the girl and the money, while Dave DidNotGetTheGirl or the money and is left with an UncertainDoom.
** To Noah. Both come off as being {{Deadpan Snarker}}s who are [[NonActionSnarker reluctant to help their team]], but their characters quickly diverge after this. Noah couldn't care less what anyone else thinks, actually knows his limits and is still able to be an asset to his team when he feels like it. Dave constantly has something to prove, keeps stepping outside his capabilities and ends up paying for it, and is the biggest [[TheLoad load]] to his team after Beardo and Leonard are eliminated. Furthermore, both have an arc of pursuing a girl which had an effect on their in-game performance, but while Noah did manage to win her over and may have had a RelationshipUpgrade, Dave DidNotGetTheGirl and became a GreenEyedMonster determined to get revenge on her.
** To Cody. Both are [[GeekPhysiques scrawny nerds]] who have huge crushes on a cute girl (Gwen and Sky, respectively) but there's an important difference: Cody is a CasanovaWannabe with [[AllMenArePerverts with some perverted tendencies]] while Dave is a whiny, neurotic NeatFreak who freaks out whenever he gets even a little bit dirty. Likewise, although, [[DidNotGetTheGirl neither of them hooked up with Gwen or Sky]], Cody didn't seem to mind Gwen hooking up with Trent [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy as long as it meant she was happy]] while Dave went AxCrazy in the finale after finding out that Sky already has a boyfriend back at home.

** To Dawn. Both are {{Nice Girl}}s, {{All Loving Hero}}ines and have a [[TheBeastmaster special connection]] with [[FriendToAllLivingThings animals]]. Both possess some degree of supernatural power, with Dawn having PsychicPowers while Ella has a CompellingVoice that can create MindControlMusic when she sings. Both are also overly-trusting {{Actual Pacifist}}s who ''never'' try to harm others, with the very worst being Dawn trying to get Scott eliminated and that was only after discovering how vile he was. There are a few contrasts, however, such as Dawn being a CreepyChild who often scares people, while Ella is generally well-liked albeit sometimes considered annoying. In addition, Dawn is noted to be exceptionally smart and figured out Scott on her own, while Ella is too naive for her own good and never realizes Sugar is a bad person despite being openly bullied by her.
** Ella has quite a few similarities to Lindsay: both are labelled as "Princesses", both have major conflicts with "Queens" (Heather for Lindsay, Sugar for Ella) which end in their elimination, both placed 9th in their debut seasons, and both are [[{{Leitmotif}} associated with the same light, fluttery music]]. However, the difference is while Lindsay is a NiceGirl, she does come to be aware of Heather being the vile person she is and even [[TheDogBitesBack gets back at her]]. Ella remains blissfully unaware of how nasty Sugar is and to this date still thinks of her as a friend. Also, Ella is the pale-skinned brunette to Sugar's fair-skinned blonde, which is the other way around for Lindsay and Heather.
** Within her own generation, she is similar to Samey. Both are the {{Nice Girl}}s of their respective teams, and both are abused by a blonde-haired AlphaBitch (Sugar towards Ella, and Amy towards Samey). However, the major difference between the two is that Ella has a [[ThePollyanna sunny and optimistic]] personality and [[AllLovingHeroine never shows any aggression]] towards Sugar and even attempted to befriend her whereas Samey started off as a ShrinkingViolet who eventually GrewASpine, standing up against her wicked twin sister.

** To Alejandro. Both are contestants labelled as "villains" with EvilerThanThou being a heavily emphasized aspect of their character but are otherwise opposites in every other way. Max is a CardCarryingVillain who openly boasts about being the evilest contestant ever, but is in fact completely incompetent and self-deluded in his EvilerThanThou beliefs. Alejandro, on the other hand, is a BitchInSheepsClothing who hides his evil nature with a charming persona, is TheAce, and indeed proves himself to be EvilerThanThou to the point of making previous BigBad Heather the hero in his debut season. Furthermore, Max is short, fat, and {{gonk}}y, while Alejandro is tall, well-built, and extremely handsome.
** To Mike's evil persona, Mal. [[EvilIsPetty Both seem to love committing petty crimes]], [[MeaningfulName have only one letter separating their names]], are {{Card Carrying Villain}}s who take pride in their evil and unlike most villains, they are more interested in being bad for the sake of it than the money, but whereas Mal was played as a [[KnightOfCerebus serious threat]] without a shred of humanity in him, Max is largely played as a joke who can't accomplish one successful scheme without Scarlett's help and has a redeeming feature in that [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes he loves babies]].
** To Scott. Being a born troublemaker who is also a ButtMonkey on the villains' side. In addition, they are both [[AnimalsHateHim hated by animals]] and [[IronButtMonkey get hurt on a regular basis]].

** However [[spoiler:"Evil Scarlett" is often compared with Mal, being the only other true [[TheSociopath sociopath]] on the show.]]

** Shawn can be seen as one to Owen and Cameron, as the socially-weird male finalist of each generation. Like his predecessors, he's a NiceGuy, a [[DirtyCoward coward]], and has NoSocialSkills. However, while his predecessors both performed very poorly in physical areas, Shawn displays genuine skill and athleticism that allows him to perform well in challenges. His [[TheLoad load]] status instead comes from his zombie paranoia.

** To [[Characters/TotalDramaCourtney Courtney]]: Both are big believers in ProtagonistCenteredMorality, both take MoralMyopia [[IRejectYourReality to the point of insanity]], both are antagonists [[ObliviouslyEvil not out of any real malice]] but because [[EvilCannotComprehendGood the sheer concept of selflessness is unfathomable to them]], both can be highly skilled but their ego's often make them TheLoad, both are [[PsychopathicManChild emotionally stunted]] and both were involved in an incredibly toxic [[RelationshipRevolvingDoor on and off relationship]] with another player. However the two have polar opposite personalities, Courtney is [[AcademicAlphaBitch insufferably smart]] while Chase is [[InsufferableImbecile insufferably stupid]]. Chase is calm, laid back and impulsive while Courtney is uptight, controlling and emotional. Chase seems to care more about being on TV than actually winning the money and focuses more on trying to win back Emma, while Courtney puts the money above anything else and will throw any potentially meaningful relationship under the bus to get it. All of Courtney's skills were developed through [[{{Determinator}} hard work and dedication]], Chase is a [[TheSlacker slacker]] who's proficiency at stunts comes from being [[FearlessFool too dumb for fear]] and Courtney's ability to be EasilyForgiven is [[VillainWithGoodPublicity universal]] while Chase's is exclusive to Emma.

** To [[[Characters/TotalDramaAlejandro Alejandro]]: Both are the BigBad of their respective seasons and have a rivalry with a lesser evil (which both happen to be an Asian woman) in the same season they debut, have {{Fanservice}}, and [[EvilAllAlong pretend to be friendly but are actually evil]]. Alejandro was pretending to be the more charming friendly social type to manipulate, while Julia is more the GranolaGirl hippie act. Alejandro faces Heather in the season finale, while [[spoiler: Julia gets MK eliminated before the merge]]. Also, while Alejandro keeps his facade all the way to the season finale, Julia drops the act halfway through her season and becomes a CardCarryingVillain.

** To Tyler. Both are [[NiceGuy Nice Guys]] who [[spoiler:don't deal well with [[KeepingSecretsSucks keeping secrets]]. Both also end up keeping a secret related to one of the couples of the season. However, while Tyler found out about an actual act of cheating, Zee was misled to believe that Caleb was just using Priya by flirting with her, not being aware that he developed genuine romantic feelings for her after he initially claimed to only be interested in TheAlliance with her.]]

* Courtney and Heather: Both of them imposed themselves as team captains of their respective teams. The difference is that during Island Courtney could be reasonable and leave the leadership to her teammates if it was necessary or if they were better at the challenge like she did with Geoff for the cooking challenge or Duncan during the dodgeball game. Heather always wants the team to follow her orders. The biggest difference is that Courtney is against bullying in general and call out Duncan for his behavior towards his teammates (especially Harold), while Heather is the main bully of her team with the way she treats Owen, Beth, Lindsay and Gwen. Especially the latter when she reads her diary in front of everyone, the fact that it didn't help winning the challenge and had no purpose outside of humiliating Gwen.

* Julia:

** To Heather. Both are dubbed '''Queens''' in their contestant labels, are the primary antagonist in their debut season, resorting to manipulation and cheating, and come in third place. However, the similarities end there. Heather is extremely cunning and intelligent, intimidating others into doing things for her. Sugar is TheDitz and BookDumb, and while very brash and rude mostly just annoys others. While both are able to manipulate others, Heather is TheChessmaster who makes elaborate plans, while Sugar acts on sight and has very little idea how she'll carry on. Heather is very classy and hates people with repulsive behavior like Owen, while Sugar is pretty much Owen's DistaffCounterpart and acts exactly like him.

* [[Characters/TotalDramaMike Mike]] to Trent. Both characters are one of the more ordinary contestants of their generations, {{Nice Guy}}s with mental disorders (OCD for Trent and [[SplitPersonality Dissociative Identity Disorder]] for Mike) and were heavily involved in a romantic plot with a girl (Gwen and Zoey respectively). However, whereas Trent is a smooth, handsome and confident ChickMagnet, Mike is instead a [[NoodlePeople scrawny]], meek and awkward ShrinkingViolet who gets nervous easily (especially around Zoey). Likewise, Trent not only failed to win the money twice but he also DidNotGetTheGirl as well while Mike makes the merge twice, wins ''All-Stars'' and becomes an OfficialCouple with Zoey.

* Raj and Wayne to Katie and Sadie: They are inseparable ChildhoodFriends and HeterosexualLifePartners who are incredibly like-minded in terms of [[DumbJock ditziness]], [[{{Keet}} excitability]] and [[CoordinatedClothes fashion-sense]] but unlike the girls, the two do have some [[DivergentCharacterEvolution distinguishing character traits]]. Katie and Sadie's identities are [[SatelliteCharacter solely based on their dynamic with one another]] alongside their [[AbhorrentAdmirer unwanted crushes]] and the latter trying to be her own person [[AbortedArc going absolutely nowhere]] while Raj has a major arc of [[ComingOutStory coming to terms with his sexuality]] and having a romance with Bowie. Katie and Sadie [[TheLoad don't contribute much]] [[TheMillstone or anything at all]] on their team whereas Wayne has been consistently strong in challenges and is usually TheLeader of his team. Additionally, Raj and Wayne's CoordinatedClothes have noticeable differences rather than being completely identical to showcase they are not SingleMindedTwins like Katie and Sadie.
* Ripper to Owen: Both are the largest members of their team known for their gas. But while Owen was [[BigFun a guy everyone got along with]], Ripper [[FatBastard is a jerk who repulses everyone away from him.]].

** To Dawn: They both have supernatural abilities, can sense other people's emotions, and don't operate on the same moral wavelength as a normal person, which costs them the trust of their respective teams. Unlike Dawn, who is kind-hearted and a pacifist, Scary Girl is a barely-restrained psychopath.

* Zee to Owen: Both are simple-minded yet kindhearted {{All Loving Hero}}es and {{Big Eater}}s with a BizarreTasteInFood who act as the PluckyComicRelief in their respective seasons. But whereas Owen is known for his [[BigFun size]] and can be serious when the competition calls for it, Zee is [[NoodlePeople skinny as a rail]] and very, ''very'' much out of it for the most part. They also form {{Odd Friendship}}s with the more jerkish contestants though while Owen and [[DeadpanSnarker Noah]], in spite of their clashing personalities, are ultimately HeterosexualLifePartners through and through, Zee may really need to reconsider who he hangs out with given that [[ItsAllAboutMe Chase]] and [[TheBully Ripper]] had both [[WithFriendsLikeThese abandoned him at one point during the game to life-threatening situations]].

** To Harold due to his personality and role in the overarching story. As both are [[NoSocialSkills socially awkward boys]] [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass with a huge arsenal of hidden talents]], both are weirdos with [[ScreamsLikeALittleGirl Girly Screams]], and both become involved with a [[TinyGuyHugeGirl much larger]] [[SaltAndPepper dark-skinned girl]]. Furthermore, they both had to partake in a talent show, where their talent unexpectedly wowed the judge and gave them the highest score.

* Bowie: To both Courtney and Sky. All three are [[CompetitionFreak highly competitive]] and determined to win the million with the skills to back it up but how much the competition affected their personal and especially their love life and vice-versa is an entirely different story.
** Courtney's [[GoGetterGirl go-getter]] [[{{Determinator}} determinism]] at doing whatever it takes to succeed had alienated all her peers with her backstabbing and bossiness both in and out of competition. Bowie, however, sets boundaries between his [[TheStrategist strategic]], [[{{Schemer}} often scheming]] gameplay and his actual feelings towards the contestants so he's generally friendly and easy-going [[PunchClockVillain off the clock]]. Both are regarded as TheAce, excelling in athleticism and smarts, but there's a key difference in their people skills with Courtney's [[NoSocialSkills severe lack of which]] eventually drove all her friendships and relationships into the ground while this is Bowie's forte, effectively manipulating others and orchestrating eliminations but still maintaining genuine bonds. In terms of romance, Courtney and Duncan's love-hate relationship becomes progressively unstable and toxic as they continue competing until it reaches its breaking point with the Gwen LoveTriangle situation while Bowie puts his with [[spoiler:Raj]] on hold until after the show and it's a lot happier and healthier as a result. Also in spite of her efforts, Courtney always comes up short in all four seasons she competed in whereas Bowie is a finalist in his debut season.
** Sky is a fellow athletic finalist in their debut season with the same approach to romance regarding the competition, not wanting it to distract them from winning and putting the competition over their respective love interests but are more than willing to date them afterwards. Alas, Sky never had the chance to voice out these intentions with Dave due to their two-way PoorCommunicationKills when the latter comes on too strong and refuses to listen if it regards his slim chances with her which isn't helped by the former pushing him away and being a MasterOfTheMixedMessage instead of telling the truth, resulting in Dave voting himself off after Sky told him she never wants to see him again when the opposite is true. This refusal to properly explain reaches its crescendo when Sky was revealed to already have a boyfriend she didn't have time to break up with yet, causing Dave to resent her and destroy any relationship between them before it even began. This was not the case for Bowie who was immediately straightforward with [[spoiler:Raj]] about pausing their relationship, reasoning that he would have to eventually compete against and potentially vote him off, but reassures he'll love to be in a relationship with him. Competition-wise, Sky dislikes underhanded tactics and [[SoreLoser especially hates losing]] while Bowie is willing to get his hands dirty but also throws a few challenges for the long game and was a GracefulLoser to Priya for winning in her ending.
