Orchid ends up using this power to induce SurvivorGuilt in Till as revenge for the SurvivorGuilt that Oz felt when Till (presumably) died from a head-on collision with a tree during the battle with Natalia, but she does it to the extent that she ends up [[AccidentalMurder accidentally murdering]] her. This leads her to have a MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment that is only emphasized by her realizing that while ''lamberos'' can mind-rape others, most don't have the power nor the ability to kill anyone with it.

* In the Literature/{{Discworld}} of Creator/AAPessimal, a particularly creative Assassin/teacher has come up with the notion of [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12650047/59/Strandpiel sensory deprivation]] as a training tool for Assassins. The [[HandicappedBadass woman who came up with the idea]] only initially wanted to create an environment where her students were, like her, deprived of the sense of hearing, and learnt as she did to compensate for the lack of a primary sense. Then she thought about it and extended the idea to, as far as was possible, deprive a person of ''all'' senses. She discovered that with no sensory information coming in, the brain and mind do not shut down: they work overtime to process ''something''. This takes the form of memories coming out of storage and projected outwards, effectively being replayed vividly. People in the Sensory Deprivation Envoronment end up confronting their worst enemy of all - themselves. Subjects report vivid replays of their worst memories, perticularly events involving shame, humiliation and an awareness of times when they did not behave as correctly or as ethically or as sensibly as they should. the excoriating experience has indeed been likened to mind-rape. [[note]]The story follows the pattern of real-life experiments in prolonged and involuntary total sensory deprivation, and is rooted in reality.[[/note]]

* ''Fanfic/AbraxasHrodvitnon'': This ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'' Franchise/MonsterVerse fanfiction sees [[spoiler:[[Characters/AbraxasHrodvitnonTitansAndOtherCreatures Ghidorah]]]] actively looking to perform a bit of ''both'' types of Mind Rape on the TwoBeingsOneBody San and Vivienne Graham. [[spoiler:Ghidorah]] uses its PsychicLink to Viv and San to episodically telepathically communicate with them, doing everything in its power to inflict BreakThemByTalking on Vivienne in the hopes she'll eventually snap and become [[BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil just as bad as Ghidorah]], and in Chapter 14 [[spoiler:Ghidorah]] uses the link to drive Viv and San into a violent psychic seizure.

* ''Fanfic/UltimateFairy'': The Entrapment spell, casted on Ben by Jellal. As stated by Porlyusica, this spell traps the victim in their own mind and forces them to undergo immense emotional trauma by making them view their worst nightmares and memories, breaking their will, and will eventually kill them via DeathByDespair. The only way apart from early treatment to rescue a victim is to restore their willpower, hence why Ezra, Lucy, Natsu, Gray, and Happy travel into Ben's mind to try and save him. The spell, though, is sentient with a personality of its own, being a FauxAffablyEvil SoftSpokenSadist with a superiority complex against non-wizards (like Ben) and can actually summon opponents from the victim's past to act as antibodies (summoning Kraab, [=SixSix=], Ghostfreak, a Highbreed, and Vilgax in Ben's case, and even trying to bring Aggregor and Dagon). All the while, the current victim is also taunted by previous victims of the spell. This spell was so deadly that there was only one known survivor prior to Ben.

* An example in the fic ''Fanfic/{{CRME}}''. Cinder decides to punish Mercury for undermining her authority. She has Emerald use [[MasterOfIllusion her Semblance]] to project several images of [[spoiler: his AbusiveParents tormenting him and insulting him. Something that distresses and angers him because he came to Cinder and Emerald to forget about his past. And Cinder makes him relive the experience UpToEleven]]. It is apparently so distressing to him that he promises to beat the crap out of Emerald if she even thinks to try it for fun. And the only reason he didn't straight up murder Cinder is that she'd make him go through it again.
