''Fuuto P.I.''[[note]]Original title 風都探偵 (''Fuuto Tantei'', lit. "Fuuto Private Investigator")[[/note]] is a manga sequel to the 2009 Japanese series ''Series/KamenRiderDouble''. It began serialization in August 2017 in Shogakukan's {{Seinen}} imprint ''Big Comic Spirits'' with 14 volumes published in Japan. Illustrated by Masaki Sato, it reunites ''Double''[='s=] original writer Creator/RikuSanjou and Dopant designer Katsuya Terada.

An {{Anime}} adaptation by Studio KAI started airing on August 1st[[note]]and July 31st, due to time zones[[/note]], 2022, as part of the Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Celebration Project. It features the return of voice actors who dubbed over Double's characters in the game ''[[VideoGame/KamenRiderMemoryOfHeroez memory of heroez]]'', along with others. * TwoDVisualsThreeDEffects: Some elements, such as the Road Doppant's roads, the Stag Phones when in bug form and the occasional Rider fight and TransformationSequence are handled with computer animation.
* ActionizedSequel: The manga still has plenty of action scenes, but they're spaced out a bit more than in ''Double''. The duo's first [[HenshinHero transformation]] isn't until the end of chapter 5 (the end of episode 2 in the anime), at first at least. As the story progresses and the villains get tougher, the ammount and scale of the action scenes also increases.

** Terui’s anime debut has him beating up a member of EXE who resembles [[Series/DoubutsuSentaiZyuohger Leo]]. Leo’s actor, Shouhei Nanba, appeared as one of the members back in W proper.

** In episode 10's ImagineSpot, Bandou imagines his fellow STREET members as band members. Scream, well, screams "Love!" at the audience, in a nod to Creator/MikuItou's other notable Kamen Rider role as [[Series/KamenRiderRevice Lovekov]].

** The third episode has the SummationGathering be compressed, Ryu Terui doesn't physically appear and the part that adapts chapter 8 shortens the Cockroach Dopant fight and Tokime's explanation to Shotaro on how she got to the scene.

** The first episode of the anime also adapts the first episode of ''[[Series/KamenRiderDouble Double]]''’s [[WhenItAllBegan Begins Night]] segment, as an extended introduction for new viewers.

** In TheTeaser opening of episode 5 when the anime finally debut Ryu Terui's physical appearance, he is shown arresting some of TheRemnant of EXE, the Memory dealer gang from the last episode of ''Kamen Rider W''.

** The Caracal Dopant arc was skipped over in the anime likely due to having no connection to the overarching arc regarding STREET and it is more of a BreatherEpisode for the manga to give Tokime some character development away from incidents involving them.

* BadassBiker: Shotaro, as he was in ''W''. This is especially given attention in the anime’s trailer.

** Chuta Tsubosaki, the first new client of the series, also happens to be the Toadstool Dopant. He didn’t want his bag back just because it was his; he wanted it because his Memory was inside.
** The entire Chujo family, who all call upon Shotaro to find the patriarch’s cat Ciao under the pretense of wanting to take care of it, when all they really cared about was her collar, and the jewel that came with it.

* CheatersNeverProsper: “Murder”, real name Mitsuo Mihara, the Meganeura Dopant, was a Freelance journalist and gamer who cheated at ''Monster El-Dorado'', and was shown up by Meg. This ends up being his motivation to kill her.

** When Shotaro and Philip are stranded at the Kogamino mansion in episode 7, they're handed blue and yellow masks that not only resemble [=LunaTrigger=], but also hearken back to their "Kamen Singer" act back in the Liar Dopant arc of the original series.

** The "Hardboiled Delusion Diary" at the end of Episode 12 imagines Tokime, Philip and Ryu as the Three Unifiers of Japan (UsefulNotes/TokugawaIeyasu, UsefulNotes/ToyotomiHideyoshi, and UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga respectively) in a nod to Akiko and Ryu's cameo in ''[[Film/KamenRiderXKamenRiderGaimAndWizardTheFatefulSengokuMovieBattle Movie War Sengoku]]'', as well as Nobunaga's appearance in Movie War Core, which featured W.
* DarkerAndEdgier: {{Zigzagged}}. While the manga retains a lot of humor from its [[Series/KamenRiderDouble predecessor]], the trailer for the anime shows a lot of mutilated bodies and murders within gory detail, unsurprising for a {{Seinen}} manga and surprising for those who watched the series thinking it's still the same kids' show. Almost all the Dopants are villains unlike the series, [[spoiler:and Chapter 116 ends with Ryu lying down on the ground after being pierced by a sword[[note]]It would be more harrowing if it weren't for the fact that [[SavedByCanon Ryu does appear in crossover stories that canonically happens after]] his daughter with Akiko, Haruna Terui, is born and it hasn't happened yet in the manga. Then again considering all the punishment Ryu has gone through during the original series, surviving a stab wound would not be out of the question, and the following chapter reveals he did survive[[/note]].]]
* EldritchLocation: Shadow Fuuto. It's a dark mirror of Fuuto where everything has a dark and red tone to it with a dark purple sky, can only be accessed by portals leading to it, [[spoiler: and is full of crazed Dopants fighting each other.]]
* ExactWords: Nikaido attempts to reassure Rentaro that the part he's making won't be used to hurt other people. [[spoiler: He's technically correct, being made as part of a machine to alleviate Nikaido's PowerIncontinence, but it doesn't change the fact that he's an enforcer for an underground terrorist cell.]]
* FairPlayWhodunit: Shotaro is able to track down Tokime in the very first episode by noting that for someone living on the lam, she’s oddly [[spoiler:well-groomed and clean]], which leads him to seek her out in places where someone without a home would [[spoiler:be able to bathe for free.]]

* GentleGiantSauropod: Thoroughly averted with the Brachiosaurus Dopant, who appears to be Bandou’s [[TheBrute Brute]].
* GreenEyedMonster: Koizumi, one of the workers at Maxsoft, is secretly jealous of Meg’s unwanted spotlight, to the point of relaying information to Murder, the Meganeura Dopant.
* HappilyMarried: Akiko and Ryu, even if it’s not obvious to outsiders.

** ''W'' was aimed at young kids and teenagers at most, so it was mostly tame, but ''Fuuto PI'''s first arc alone contains straight-up nudity. The anime tones it down, though [[MsFanservice Tokime]] still keeps her design, which is shown off in episode 1.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The Scream Dopant, one of Bandou’s lieutenants.

* OddlyNamedSequel: It's a direct sequel to ''Series/KamenRiderDouble'' that doesn't even have "Kamen Rider" in the title, unlike many other ''Kamen Rider'' spin-off manga like ''[[Series/KamenRiderFaiz Kaixa]]'' or ''[[Series/KamenRiderAmazons Amazons Gaiden: Firefly]]''. Instead, it references the setting of the series and the main characters' occupations.

* SuperDeformed: The anime has small skits at the end of episodes featuring the characters in this style, with a similar animation to ''[[Anime/{{Symphogear}} Symphogear's]]'' [=OVAs=] (which several of the animation staff have worked on).
