* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: The royal family seems to have this problem. Shuu and Teru have more realistic colors of black and strawberry blonde. However, the rest range from peculiar to outrageous. Akane has hair the color of strawberry jam, Aoi has indigo hair, while Haruka has lavender colored hair.

* IdiotHero: Teru has this in spades. His heart is ultimately in the right place, but he suffers from a severe lack of common sense and what appears to be chuunibyou (justified by being an elementary schooler). His kindergartner sister Shiori had to do most of the heavy lifting during the shopping errand episode.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Haruka, the fifth child and second son. His power is Lots of Next, which allows him to calculate the probability of things succeeding or failing instantly and... that's it.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: A minor version. Kanade is not as nice as her public persona would lead you to believe, and has a particularly low opinion of Akane's crippling shyness.

* GirlishPigtails: Worn by Akane and, later on, Satou. In Akane's case however, they're placed much lower on her head compared to Satou's, as she finds putting them up any higher childish.
* GravityMaster: Akane, our main character. Has the power Gravity Core which allows her to manipulate the weight of herself or anything else she touches, and make them lighter or heavier. She mostly uses this to Flight fly and run faster than normal.
* GreenThumb: Exaggerated by Hikari, the seventh child and fifth daughter. Her superpower is God's Hand, which allows her to manipulate the growth of any living thing, with the caveat that when so affected, it's stuck that way for twenty-four hours. In practice, she just uses this to age her body up to adulthood and mess with Akane.

* MesACrowd: Misaki, the sixth child and fourth daughter, and Haruka's twin sister. Her power is All For One, which allows her to make seven copies of herself. Each copy reflects a facet of Misaki's personality, and each is really really good at one subject, which annoys Misaki to no end, as Misaki herself is otherwise bland and doesn't excel in anything in particular.

* ThePowerOfCreation: Kanade, the third child and second daughter (and Shu's twin sister) has Heaven's Gate, allowing her to create anything she thinks of. Stops short of being a StoryBreakerPower by two things: she can only use material readily available where she currently is, and anything she makes immediately gets assigned a in-universe pricetag to it... which is then immediately deducted from her savings account. Ouch.

* SecretlyWealthy: Kanade's savings account is on par with the national budget. Akane doesn't even know that until Kanade tells her.

* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Shiori, the youngest child and sixth daughter, has Soul Mate, which allows her to talk to animals and even inanimate objects.
* SuperStrength: Teru, the eight child and third son, has Limit Over which gives him this.

* TeleportersAndTransporters: Shu, the second child and oldest son, has Transporter, which allows him to teleport himself and anything (or anyone) he touches to a location he's previously thought about.
* WeWinBecauseYouDidNot: Shuu's not interested in actually being king, ooooh no. He's just in the running to stop Kanade from becoming the ruler of the country, for reasons still undisclosed.

Stops short of being a StoryBreakerPower by two things: she can only use material readily available where she currently is, and anything she makes immediately gets assigned a in-universe pricetag to it... which is then immediately deducted from her savings account. Ouch.
* SuccessionCrisis: Averted. Not only is their dad the King alive, none of the Sakurada kids seem to treat the coming election with any seriousness. Indeed, Akane is only maybe thinking of going after the crown only because, if she were the ruler, she'd be able to order all those security cameras disabled.

Akane Sakurada has an issue with being the center of attention. To put it simply, she doesn't like it.

The thing is, it's hard to not be the focus of everyone's attention, when your father just happens to be the ruler of your country. And what's even worse, there's a seemingly endless number of security cameras strategically placed around the town, all set to follow your every move.

You'd think that Akane's life couldn't get any more difficult. You'd guess wrong. Because, seemingly on a whim, dear old Dad decided that upon the graduation of Aoi, Akane's big sister and the eldest child of the family, from high school, would be the time the country would decide who among the King's children would become the country's next ruler... through a popularity contest.

Fortunately, being part of the royal bloodline has certain... perks. Akane, and indeed all of her nine brothers and sisters, all have special powers. Except those same powers are now also going to be seen by the public as added appeal for each sibling once it's time to vote...

Drawn and written by Ayumu Kasuga (known for the designs he drew for LightNovel/GonnaBeTheTwinTail), Castle Town Dandelion (城下町のダンデライオン) is a 4koma comedy serialized in Magazine/MangaTimeKirara Miracle! since 2012, with three compiled volumes since then. An adaptation by Production IMS and directed by Noriaki Akitaya aired during the Summer2015Anime season.

!!Castle Town Dandelion gives examples of the following tropes:

* TheFaceless: The manga makes an effort to keep the King's face obscured constantly. Averted with the first episode of the anime, where after a few moments of blocking his face with a newspaper like the manga, eventually reveals his face.
* MassivelyNumberedSiblings: It bears repeating, Akane is just the fourth of nine kids. Mom and dad Sakurada have been busy, for sure.
* ModestRoyalty: Aside from the fact that the Sakuradas are supposedly the royal family, they act like your typical middle-class family. Heck, they don't even live in the castle; instead, they live in a two-floor flat in the suburbs
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: While Akane has a crippling case of shyness, this doesn't stop her from stepping up whenever someone is in trouble, as shown when she goes after a mugger in the first chapter of the manga and the first episode of the anime.
