* BreakTheHaughty: Despite the overall light-hearted theme of the manga, the death of Rui's grandfather affected her mostly in the first chapter of the story, as he was the only person in her family who looked after her. That is [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] in later chapters, as she moves on with it.

After the funeral of [[HeartwarmingOrphan Rui Tenhara]]'s grandfather, Rui is pretty much considered to be an orphan, as she is the only child of the Tenhara family. Her father is currently overseas, while her mother died before the events of the story.

However, a day passed since her grandfather's funeral, things radically changed for Rui, when her father overseas married someone. It turns out that Rui's father marries the mother of Chiharu Koda, an average office lady, thereby making Chiharu the older stepsister of Rui.

''A Fine and Bright Day'' (''Harebare Biyori'') is a slice-of-life manga written by Yoshi Yoshimura in 27 August 2020, which has been currently serialised by ''Magazine/ComicCune''. It is currently released with two volumes total.

!!This manga provides examples of:
* {{Foil}}:
** Rui and Chiharu:
*** Rui is much younger than Chiharu, physically. Emphasized in some parts of the manga that Rui clearly has a slightly larger age gap and height towards Chiharu.
*** Personality-wise, Rui is more mature and much calmer than Chiharu, and the former has no qualms in bluntly pointing out [[LethalChef the latter's]] horrible cooking. Chiharu, on the other hand, is extremely doting and sometimes boisterous towards her younger stepsister.
** Rui and Kurumi:
*** Rui cares less for competitiveness, while Kurumi is often sensitive and childish about losing.
*** Much like Chiharu, Rui's rather calm and rational personality is the opposite to Kurumi's outgoing personality.
* SchoolgirlSeries
* SitcomArchNemesis: Kirika and Kurumi often do not go in terms within each other, since it was revealed that [[spoiler:Kurumi hit Kirika, leading to the former getting scolded by their teacher.]]
* SliceOfLife: The manga focuses on the relationship between Rui and Chiharu as stepsisters.
