A form of TimeCompressionMontage depicting a long journey, usually consisting of various shots of places along the route, the main character(s) on the journey, and frequent shots of a map, often with a line appearing on it to mark the route (or sometimes just a camera pan across the map). Alternately it can show the travelling character looking about in wonder as StockFootage of various famous sites fades in and out around him, or as flags of various nations flow by. There may also be a LandingGearShot or two. Watch for FridgeLogic where, after traveling together for hours to days, the characters [[ConversationCut resume talking about their plans as if they didn't speak a word during the trip]].

** ''Film/LiveAndLetDie''. Bond's travel montage is just a straight-forward flight from London to New York, but it's intercut with the BigBad's seer seeing his arrival in the cards.

* The ''Film/JamesBond'' movie ''Film/FromRussiaWithLove'' pans over a map to show a ride with the Orient Express through Yugoslavia, occasionally interspersed with stock footage of [[JustTrainWrong a British train that looks nothing like the Orient Express]]. A cheap method but understandable. With a budget of only 2 million USD Bond was still low budget at that time back in 1963.

* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperMarioBrosMovie'', Mario, Peach, and Toad travel across different locations on their way to the Jungle Kingdom, coming across multiple environments with setpieces meant to evoke different games. They pass a field with a cannon like the one in Bom-Omb Battlefield in ''VideoGame/SuperMario64''; they go through a desert with the inverted pyramid from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey''; they pass by a bunch of Yoshis on what can be assumed to be Yoshi's Island, with the fruits from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld'' growing there; and they come to a halt admiring the scenery in Rock-Candy Mines from ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosU''.

* The first ''WesternAnimation/IceAge'' movie has one that's accompanied by Rusted Root's "Send Me on My Way" as the protagonists experience OldFaithful, brave a blizzard, and attempt to walk on ice.
** This was originally going to be made into a tradition for the franchise to have a montage scene starting with Meltdown, but the filmmakers thought it would be too boring and dropped it.
