His persona as "Marvin" was part of a running rivalry between the two hit shows, although people who met him in pubs could confirm he really ''was'' a gloomy pessimist hovering on the brink of depression. He responded by writing an impenetrably boring genius called ''Different Adams'' into his radio show. He went on to write ''2point4Children'' and the TV series, later movie, about WW3, ''WhoopsApocalypse''
