* On an episode of "The Tonight Show", Jimmy Fallon and Billy Joel used an iPad app to become a two-man doo-wop group to sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".
* In certain shows, particularly shows targeted at children, where two or more characters are voiced by the same performer, this effect has been used to have those characters singing in harmony. For example, there have certainly been ''Franchise/WinnieThePooh'' songs with Pooh and Tigger since Creator/JimCummings performing both in which Pooh and Tigger sang in harmony. And this was also done on ''Series/BearInTheBigBlueHouse''.
* Vic Mizzy, who wrote the iconic theme for ''Series/TheAddamsFamily'', couldn't afford backup singers to record the song, so he triple-overdubbed his voice to simulate a trio.

* Michael Barnes of Music/{{Red}}. Some songs, like "Cauterize," overdub [[SopranoAndGravel his screaming and his clean vocals]].

* Charlotte Wessels of Music/{{Delain}} sings with herself a lot. "No Compliance," "Masters Of Destiny," "Hunter's Moon," "This Silence Is Mine," "We Had Everything," "Burning Bridges" are examples.

* Country/comedy artist Music/RayStevens commonly sang his own backing vocals in falsetto to emulate a female trio singing behind him, and sometimes added a bass backing vocal as well (most notably on "Turn Your Radio On"). In a more extreme example, he self-overdubbed vocal parts in different ranges to emulate the titular gospel group on "The Dooright Family."

* Music/{{Nightwish}} was into this especially on ''Wishmaster'' and ''Oceansoul'', though not nearly all songs that employ the effect do it more than subtly. Most {{egregious}} examples would be ''Sleeping Sun'' and ''Swanheart'', both tranquil ballads.

* Music/DavidBowie often sang his own backing vocals, most notably in the music video for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jRODPlfhys "Boys Keep Swinging,"]] where he played his own ''[[FetishFuel female]]'' backup singers. HilarityEnsues.

* Music/DaYoopers has many examples. Jim [=DeCaire=] can be heard singing harmony over himself on "Da Fishin' Trip", and Lynn Coffey can be heard singing a "ba bum ba bum" underneath her chorus to "Dear Mr. Governor". Jim Bellmore used the trope frequently after taking over on lead guitar/songwriting duties from Joe Potila in 1995, as he regularly sings harmony to himself (such as the bass harmony on "Yooper Snow Rocket", or "My First Time Ever", an {{a cappella}} track which has him singing all four parts of a barbershop quartet).
