As a result, security guards themselves often have a bad reputation in fiction, portrayed as aggressive and dumb, but with delusions of grandeur. They will often be ThePeepingTom as well, as security guards are portrayed as having control of mall surveillance. Although PoliceAreUseless, security guards are arguably even ''more'' useless (in fiction, anyway), and they'll often be a subcategory of the FatBastard.
