Moving to No Plot No Problem
Deleted line(s) 38,39 (click to see context) :
* ''Film/ShootEmUp'' has only a handful of scenes dedicated to plot, and is not ashamed in the least about it. They take place in a tank and right before the protagonist jumps out of a plane and kicks a mook into a helicopter. Any other ones are merely short dialogs before sex or more shooting (or both simultaneously).
** Similarly, Irish film critic Donald Clarke noted in his review of one of the ''Fast and Furious'' films that the series was essentially this trope, with street racing instead of sex. He also managed to extend the metaphor to rather amusing lengths (engine lubricant, the thrusting motion of pistons, that sort of thing).

-->--''A plot summary from a FanFic. No, really''[[hottip:*:In case you were wondering, [[SlashFic characters X and Y were Kirk and Spock, respectively]].]].
"'''P'''lot? '''W'''hat '''P'''lot?" When referring to {{Lemon}}s, the term is also used to mean "'''P'''orn '''W'''ithout '''P'''lot". (Nowadays it almost always refers to lemons, which can confuse older fanficcers who remember when "Plot? What plot?" could refer to ''any'' vignette, even [perhaps especially] [[{{WAFF}} fluffy, G-rated ones]].)
Shorthand flag for stories whose sole purpose is to present a sexually-explicit situation ([[SturgeonsLaw very often]] [[IKEAErotica not very well-written]]); "stroke story" is another term for the same, especially in erotica. A PWP is almost always a short story, as going more than a few scenes runs the risk of accidentally discovering a plot which may well [[PlotTumor take over the story]] and shove the explicit sexual content off to the side. In these cases, one may often describe the quality or [[RuleThirtySix content]]) of these stories with the pronunciation "poop".
[=PWPs=] are convenient for the writer who wants to produce smut, because they do not require [[BackStory justification]], they simply happen with no explanation. (PWP can also stand for "'''P'''erson '''W'''ith '''P'''erson", because of the frequent occurrence of... [[CrackPairing non-standard]]... [[{{Shipping}} couplings]], similarly without the need for justification.)
Some recent CGI Blockbusters have been heading in a PWP direction, using as little plot as possible to link CGI action scenes together.
Although classified here under FanFic, PWP is by no means limited to fan fiction.

!!Examples:
* Most of the least impressive episodes of ''RedShoeDiaries'' amounted to PWP dressing up in plot's clothing.
* ''BubblegumCrisis'' has a truly infamous example in the story ''[[http://www.fanfic.net/pub/Anime/FanFictions/BGC/Lemon/bgc.lemon.bubblegum-pink.raging-fires.gz Bubblegum Pink: Raging Fires]]'' by Kris Overstreet and Larry Mann, to the point that BGC Usenet groups react instinctively with the acronym "DYO!" (short for "Damn you, Overstreet!") to any mention of it -- or anything even vaguely like it.
** And also, ironically enough, Overstreet has [[PeterIsTheWolf a webcomic]] that does subvert this trope by being Porn ''With'' Plot, enough so that he can make a version without the porn parts and have it actually be a pretty good webcomic.
* ''BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', pretty much everything you'll find, ''ever,'' on the enormous archive, [[http://dymphna.net/ucsl UCSL.]]
** Yet even there there is few Buffy/Dawn fics. Plus, you know, no updates since 06.
** ''SnakesOnAPlane'', marvellously, didn't even bother to wrap up the questionable backstory at the end of the film. Court case? What court case?
* ''{{xkcd}}'' [[http://xkcd.com/311/ gives us]] a non-pornographic version: what would be [[RuleofCool the awesomest]] action movie ever made: ''[[{{Firefly}} River Tam]] [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Beats Up Everyone]]''. As the comic put it, "30 seconds of exposition followed by 90 minutes of action".
* The [[RunningGag infamous]] ''MyImmortal'' CrackFic is essentially this, plus copious amounts of {{Wangst}}, MarySue and CostumePorn. And it's all [[{{Understatement}} very poorly written]].
* ''{{Californication}}'', to the point where Hank can't even buy a car without having sex.
* Many film critics accused ''TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen'' of this.
* ''{{Dinosaur Comics}}'' proposes a [[http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=351 kick ass]] disaster movie where the earth stops, and everybody flies into a wall. Ha ha! Two tickets please!
* The downloadable platformer {{SplosionMan}} is this. You are a semi-humanoid apparently made out of lava. You have one control, and one control only: explode. Your entire goal seems to be to 'splode scientists into steaks and eat cake. It is tremendously fun.
* GratuitousSpaceBattles: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin It's about... ermm... yeah.]]
* The webcomic BlurTheLines [[ConversationalTroping converses]] about this trope before moving into an in-universe [[DiscussedTrope discussion]]. [[http://www.blur-the-lines.com/?p=176]]
--> '''Rick:''' Porno could be so much more in the right hands... but it's mainly just, "Whoops, wrong door! Let's fuck!"
--> '''Drew:''' How about we make our own porn? Want to lick this spoon clean, or lick it off of me?
--> '''Rick:''' So, this would be a porn where I'm picking body hair out of my teeth for a half-hour? [[SarcasmMode Yeah, there's a plot.]]
* ''AfterLastSeason'', which is about...uh...''something''. Incidentally, the director thinks the movie ''is'' about something discernible.
* ''FinnegansWake'' was published in 1939, and readers are ''still'' trying to figure out what they just read about.
* AskThatGuyWithTheGlasses explains what his all-time favorite movie would be: nothing but babies blowing up, again and again.
* Drew Carey lampshades this in one epsiode of Whose line is it anyway, comparing points to the plot in a porno.
* ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' the book is about extremely detailed descriptions of boys taking off their shirts. ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' the movie is about showing us boys taking off their shirts. There might have been a small subplot about vampires or something but you would be forgiven for missing it.
