* ''VideoGame/{{X-COM}}'': Your soldiers actually have life bars but, until they are experienced and get armor (and it takes a while), for practical purposes they might as well be one of these. The health bars average between 40 and 60 health points, and the weakest alien weapon (Plasma Pistol or Sonic Pistol) does 80 damage. An extremely lucky soldier will survive a single hit, be knocked unconscious from the pain, and then die the following turn from bleeding out. ''Apocalypse'' actually tends to make this an Averted Trope, however, as your soldiers start with basic armor that can actually resist a few shots.

Compare UntouchableUntilTagged (where a single failure to dodge dooms a character), HPToOne (an attack which turns characters into this).

** In the 4th edition of this tabletop game, there's a "minion" class of monster who basically has the same stats as a normal NPC/monster of its type, but only 1 hit point. They basically have two purposes: to give the [=PCs=] a horde of easily dispatched enemies so the players can feel all BadAss, or to [[WeHaveReserves run interference for a more powerful enemy]].

* ''VideoGame/CryptOfTheNecrodancer'': Aria and Coda only have half a heart and cannot obtain heart canisters, and therefore die if they take any damage (Unless they have a potion, which Aria starts with and is good for a single revival, or if they are wearing glass armor, which saves them from being hit once). Additionally, they die if they miss a beat.

* ''VideoGame/CarriesOrderUp'': [[CollisionDamage Bumping into a customer]], [[SlipperySkid spinning through a puddle]], or slipping on a BananaPeel will all cause you to lose a life, instantly. Subverted in "Friendly Mode", where you instead have RegeneratingHealth

* Ironically, Ado, the ThatOneBoss of ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamland3'', is this. Once you defeat all her drawings, she jumps down from her pedestal and blindly charges forward, only to die to '''ANY''' attack. Even Kirby's ''sliding kick'' can defeat her in one hit, and that attack is normally useless against bosses or minibosses. [[FridgeBrilliance There's a reason she makes you fight so many living drawings beforehand.]]
