* ''ComicBook/HeroesForHire'' Tarantula licks her blades after one battle.
* ComicBook/{{Storm}} from ComicBook/XMen did this once after drawing first blood. Her opponent is a mutant who could produce knives out of bone, with one being the blade Storm used. So she was licking her opponent's blood from a bone knife, made out of the body of her enemy.

* Franchise/{{Batman}} villain Mr. Zsasz has been known to cut his tongue (along with every other part of his body) to mark a kill.

* In ''ComicBook/BatmanRIP'', the Joker does this [[spoiler:and cuts his own tongue doing so.]]

* In ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}}'', Priests of [[WarGod Khorne]] are mentioned as "idly" licking blood from their blades in the ''Literature/GreyKnights'' novel ''Hammer of Daemons''.

He then licks a sword handed to him and declares he isn't the least bit apprehensive. And if that is as cold as steel gets.

* Lurtz does this during his fight with Aragorn at the end of the film ''Film/LordOfTheRings: The Fellowship of the Ring''. Aragorn stabs him in the leg with his elven dagger, Lurtz pulls it out, licks ''his own blood'' off of it and then throws it back at Aragorn, who deflects it with his sword. It's awesome.

* Parodied in ''Anime/Persona4TheAnimation'', in an early scene when Yosuke shows Yu a sword... acquired... to help fighting the shadows. Cut to a police officer approaching the two boys, preparing to arrest them.

* Parodied in ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'' with the assassin Gastro, who constantly licks, bites, and tastes his guns, and even uses a pistol as an eating utensil.
