* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'' has [[spoiler: the wanting-to-be asexual Susan crushing hard on Elliot]], including a joking version of this trope where she states that "It's okay if ''you'' do it" regarding semi-sexual humor.[[note]]In this case, asking about why she didn't wear the original Star Trek uniform for women rather than The Next Generation's[[/note]] Note that this changes tone somewhat when we learn that [[spoiler: Susan actually ''is'' asexual - or at least, can't imagine herself having sex at all - but is ''not'' aromantic. When Diane asks her why she'd never gone on a date, Susan thinks about the subject hard, apparently for the first time in her life; she realizes she finds both Elliot and Catalina attractive, at the very least (they being the two people who she thought about first), and even finds thinking about the two of them doing smooching to be a turn-on, but gets violently disturbed trying to imagine ''herself'' engaged in such acts.]]

* PlayedforLaughs by ''Literature/ThePhantomOfTheOpera'' in FateGrandOrder during the Almost Weekly Santa Alter event, in which he laments having to spend [[UsefulNotes/ChristmasInJapan Christmas]] in the company of solely men, only to come on to the canonically male protagonist in his next set of lines.

* Going for a broader intepretation of this is demisexuality. Considered to be "between" asexuality and sexuality, demisexuals do not feel sexual attraction toward any individual unless they are already close to them as individuals. This is not the same as SingleTargetSexuality, as the latter could be to only one invidual, demisexuality could be presumably toward anyone as long as the connection is there.

[[folder:Tabletop Games]]
* In ''TabletopGame/{{Pathfinder}},'' this occasionally comes up.
** Both the ''Reign of Winter'' and the ''Crusade of the Righteous'' adventure paths include a lesbian couple where one of the women was originally a transsexual man who underwent a GenderBender with his lover's support.
** ''Reign of Winter'' includes a non-sexual, optional variant, in that a player who pretends to be a [[AnIcePerson Winter]] [[CanisMajor Wolf]] to get into the city of Howlings and who uses diplomacy on the female winter wolf guard there [[GoneHorriblyRight will have her start flirting with them, as she's looking for a mate]]. If they respond positively, and aren't a JerkAss about revealing the truth after things get serious, she doesn't care that they're really a human and wants to keep the relationship.

When this trope is deployed between, for example, a straight man and a {{Transsexual}} woman, it has UnfortunateImplications for what the authors think of her gender.

** Nitori can best be described as a lesbian stuck inside a [[{{Transsexual}} boy's body]] but a girl named Chiba has had an attraction to her since elementary school. Chiba apparently has SingleTargetSexuality, since though she'd prefer if Nitori was a boy she doesn't mind much if she becomes a girl.

* In ''WebComic/TwoKinds'', Natani is effectively a female-to-male {{transsexual}}, having a masculine mentality/self-image of himself due to needing part of his brother's soul patched onto his. Since his brother is a heterosexual male, in his mind, Natani is the same; even though his body suffers reproductive heats that give him strong urges to mate with males, he finds the idea gross on a conscious level. At the same time, though, he has fallen very strongly for fellow adventurer Keith, who is biologically and mentally male. This is giving Natani strong conflicting urges towards him.
