The sheer amount of tension between Dean and Seth is a sight to behold, especially when you think of all the HoYay that comes with it during their days as teammates. It is also more popular than Seth's current love interest in the ring Wrestling/BeckyLynch.

** No matter how popular other couples comprising of them are, it can't compare to how much the fans like to ship them with each other, especially after they broke up. The most popular, of course, is Wrestling/DeanAmbrose and Wrestling/SethRollins (Ambrollins), though adding Wrestling/RomanReigns to the mix and making it a OneTrueThreesome is certainly not uncommon either.
** On the heterosexual side of things, Seth is most commonly paired with Wrestling/{{Paige}} (most likely due to their similar tastes and looks and the fact that they were supposed to have a romantic storyline together down in developmental), while Dean's RealLife relationship with Renee Young has been happily embraced by fans.

It's also important to keep in mind that, while the number of fanfics for a given pairing is somewhat informative about the pairing's popularity, fanfic numbers tend to skew toward non-canon pairings, because people who are dissatisfied with canon pairings are more likely to be writing fics that feature their OTP, as opposed to those who like canon pairings, who may be satisfied with the events in canon and not feel the need to write fics.

* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'':
** Neptune/Sun. During Volumes 2-3, Neptune and Weiss are attracted to each other; Jaune gets them together at the ball, but it doesn't last due to Neptune's womanising. This has never been a popular pairing with the fandom; instead, fanfiction and fan art favour Neptune with his team leader and friend, Sun; this creates a SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan dynamic due to Sun's machismo and Neptune's intellectualism, while also solving the canon ShipTease Blake has with both Sun and Yang for Blake/Yang shippers.
** Summer/Qrow. Summer is the deceased wife of Taiyang and MissingMom to the heroine, Ruby Rose. Ruby was mentored by her uncle Qrow, whom she idolises. Qrow has no know romantic relationships, but fanfiction and fan art far prefer pairing Summer with him than with Taiyang. This stems from a popular fandom theory that Qrow is secretly Ruby's father, but keeps his distance because he's TheJinx. While the creators have repeatedly debunked the theory, it -- and the Summer/Qrow ship it creates -- remains popular.

** ''FanPreferredCouple/FireEmblem''

* Wrestling/AJLee was in an OfficialCouple or had ShipTease with a grand total of six guys... ''in one year''. This was bound to happen eventually. Of those six guys (Wrestling/DanielBryan, Wrestling/CMPunk, Wrestling/{{Kane}}, Wrestling/JohnCena, Wrestling/DolphZiggler, and Big E. Langston), her most popular pairing is with Punk, despite their interaction ending very quickly, becoming out of character alignment and AF ending up with Ziggler in canon for well over a year after Punk. [[HilariousInHindsight Ironically]], [[RomanceOnTheSet Punk started dating AJ]] in late 2013, and [[UpToEleven they got engaged the next year and married in June 2014]].

** Despite Weiss having feelings for Neptune and Ruby being confirmed by WordOfGod to have no interest in [[CelibateHero anyone romantically]], many fans prefer to see "White Rose" (Ruby/Weiss) become canon instead, as many find Ruby and Weiss to have more chemistry and their interactions to be more meaningful. Not to mention the LesYay between them.
