* Creator/RudyardKipling's sequel to ''Literature/TheJungleBook'' subverts this with White Hood, the enormous old cobra who serves as the Warden of the King's Treasure. He ''tries'' to be scary, but he's clearly seen better days, and his bark is worse than his bite (quite literally, since his venom has dried up and his fangs have withered to uselessness.

This trope has been an [[TelevisionIsTryingToKillUs incredibly damaging]] stereotype in places such as medieval Europe and present-day Africa, where albinos have been [[BurnTheWitch harassed, attacked, or even murdered under the belief that they are witches]]. Also in Africa (specifically UsefulNotes/{{Tanzania}}, which has the highest rate of albinism in the world), [[HumanResources body parts from albinistic humans]] are sold for use in magical rituals, and it's believed that sex with an albino woman will cure someone of HIV, leading to rape and subsequent HIV infection.

* Played as straight as possible in at least one [[Literature/TheExecutioner Executioner]] novel, ''Invisible Invader''. One of the main villain's henchmen is an albino assassin simply called The Albino. While the other villains are described in detail, The Albino's real name and country of origin are never revealed.

* No Creator/HPLovecraft fan shall forget that Lavinia Whateley, who gave birth to Literature/{{the Dunwich Horror}} and its brother, was a crazy albino creepy woman. Although Lavinia wasn't evil ''per se'' (she didn't object having creepy children, but TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt got her squeamish), [[spoiler:the Horror itself was revealed to have "red eyes and crinkly albino hair" on its human face]].
** There were also [[EverythingsBetterWithPenguins albino penguins]] in ''At the Mountains of Madness''; while they weren't evil or any sort of threat, they added to the eerie atmosphere.

* [[spoiler: The true form of Mir, the ultimate antagonist in]] ''VideoGame/ArTonelico'', is that of a deathly-pale, red-eyed, emaciated girl. Probably doesn't count as a technical albino due to her hair colour, but they're definitely playing on the creepiness factor. [[spoiler:They do play it up, but her subsequent appearance in the second game doesn't have quite that deathly pallor. The skin tone seems to come from her having not seen natural sunlight in 400 years. She's still very pale, but it's not as exaggerated. The eyes seem to have been caused by the experiments done on her in her youth.]]
