Everything's possible, even twincest with characters like Kanon and Saga who are hugely popular.

* ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}'' fandom pairs everyone with everyone else, and this trope is inevitable when the cast is [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters well past one hundred]] and the number of males with actual screen/page time is ''three'' (a turtle, a cloud, and a [[NonActionGuy non-combatant shopkeeper]]). And this despite NoHuggingNoKissing being very much in effect. "Everybody is gay in Gensokyo" is a [[MemeticMutation memetic phrase]].

* ''VideoGame/MegaMan'' and its other series have a cast that is mostly 99% male, making this inevitable.
** This is most certainly not assisted by the works of {{Hyadain}} for ''VideoGame/MegaMan2'', in which virtually every Robot Master is gay for Rock. Crash! Let's do it, indeed.

* Enforced in ''{{Minecraft}}'' - [[http://notch.tumblr.com/post/28188312756/gender-in-minecraft as Notch pointed out]], there is only one gender in Minecraft, which means that [[EveryoneIsGay any creature in Minecraft is homosexual]], because there is only one gender to choose from.

* YouTubePoop uses this a lot.

* Most characters - including the protagonists - in ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' are female; therefore, anyone who wants to write shipfic will probably make the characters gay, even though no hints as to anyone's sexuality have been given in canon.

* ''{{Metalocalypse}}'', with its nearly all-male recurring cast, is ripe for this trope. While all of Dethklok does show interest in women (specifically, ladies), and Skwisgaar and Nathan actually shown in bed with a few, all of the notable women they date ''look like the other band members''. Combine that with the mountains and mountains of [[HoYay gay innuendo]], the band's canon relationship as TrueCompanions, and the rampant substance abuse in the show, it doesn't even necessarily have to be a matter of EveryoneIsGay as much as No One Is Straight.
** The creators are fully aware of it, too. An entire episode was devoted to a Dethklok fan-convention that cheerfully featured notable works of homos-erotics fan art actually produced by the slash fandom, and Murderface (the least popular band member and the one most likely to be canonically attracted to dudes) attempts plastic surgery ''so that fangirls will write more slash about him''.

* The completely yaoi obsessed Tumblr takes this into ridiculous levels. Every single male fictional character, no matter how canonically straight, attracted to females and hold-blooded they are, will always have a large portion of the fanbase ship them with another male. This would be such a problem if it wasn't for the fact that, for some reason, these portions of the fanbases seems to get around more then the town bike, and therefore are EVERYWHERE. Don't even bothering going into a character's tag, it'll just lead to yaoi porn. And if the media is made up of mainly males, mainly females, two mains witht he same gender, or has any form of connection between two males AT ALL, you can expect Tumblr to believe it means that yaoi is canon to it. Tumblr appears to have never heard of a thing called "platonic relationships".
** This also becomes a major problem when it's concerning ACTUAL people, such as famous actors. It's one thing to ship fictional characters, but it gets onto disturbing when you start shipping a bucket load of real life celebrities with other male celebrities.

* The MCU is chock full of this, the most popular pairings being Tony/Steve, Tony/Bruce, Tony/Anyone and Clint/Coulson (despite them having only one onscreen interaction). However, like the Series/Merlin example below, it is a rather peaceful multi ship fandom, if only because Pepperony is adorable, Clintasha is popular and Peggy/Steve is cute, tragic and confined to the past.
** Oh, and Loki and Tony usually end up banging everyone.

* Same goes for ''SherlockHolmes'' fanfic.

* Excluding resident {{Jerkass}} duo Anderson and Donovan, if you know nothing about the series and look at blog sites like Website/{{tumblr}}, you will probably assume the canon pairings for BBC's ''Series/{{Sherlock}}'' are John and Sherlock, Mycroft and Lestrade, Molly and Irene (both of whom vy for Sherlock's affections, so pair 'em of to get rid of them), and Moriarty and Sebastian Moran. It can be inferred the only reason Anderson and Donovan aren't paired off with people of the same sex within the fanbase is because there is no one left to pair them with AND nobody likes them. The only other heterosexual relationship that is even close to accepted is Molly/Lestrade.
* Quite frequent in the ''{{Series/Highlander}}'' fandom, and somewhat with the films too. It's probably kind of expected when most of the characters have lived for hundreds or thousands of years and writers feel they had a lot of time to experiment.

* It's actually ridiculously easy to do. What with all these big oiled-up hard bodies in very few clothes rolling around together in compromising situations and probably something like a 10:1 ratio of men to women...

* Fans of comics in ''The {{Walkyverse}}'' have a saying: "A character is assumed to be gay unless proven otherwise. And even then, it's suspect". It's mostly a joke... mostly.
* ''Webcomic/{{Karin-dou 4koma}}'' has '''one''' straight couple (with the guy only appearing in one strip). Everyone else is either lesbian or unspecified.

* The most recent video on JandrewEdits has taken their TNG video edits directly into this, by bringing [=LaForge=] into the existing TriangRelations between Picard and two Rikers.
* RedVsBlue slash fic often goes along with this. Partly because there are very few female characters in the series, even if you include the tank, and [[spoiler:all of them are either dead or missing.]]
* WebAnimation/HomestarRunner fandom tends to do this quite a bit, although considering that the only girl resembles a broomstick, doesn't get along with her canon boyfriend very well, and is the textbook definition of a GranolaGirl, this is perhaps understandable.

* Due to [[LittleKuriboh the creator's]] abiding fondness for ShipTease, the TransparentCloset, and [[QueerPeopleAreFunny so on]], heterosexuality as we know it [[NotThatTheresAnythingWrongWithThat does not seem to exist]] in ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries''.

* ThePenguinsOfMadagascar uses this in canon and fanfiction. All the penguins have ambiguously gay moments, and we're still not sure if one or more of them is female. Meanwhile King Julien is almost certainly BiTheWay. Short of transferring OC female penguins, or going with Anybody/Marlene, gay is your only choice.

* Read the page for AmbiguouslyGay. Half the examples on that page are confirmed to be canonically straight but listed because they have only one or two of the qualities required.

** This really only applies to Sayaka and ''maybe'' Mami, as everyone else is about as obviously gay/bi as possible given a lack of makeouts. WordOfGod declares [[spoiler:Sayaka/Kyouko and Madoka/Homura]] as the {{Official Couple}}s.

* Happens incredibly often in the ''InglouriousBasterds'' fandom. Aldo, Donny, and Stiglitz are usually portrayed as ManlyGay, Wicki is StraightGay, and Utivich is TheTwink (though that occasionally happens to Omar, too). Col. Landa may or may not be a DepravedHomosexual in FanFic.

* GetBackers. There are a few women, but they are often shrugged off as "Ban's sister", "Ban's surrogate mom", "too old & too tall to be with" & "hologram tomboy". The rest of the cast is guys, some with very die-hard clingy relationships, & Akabane who only hits on a couple of guys while showing no interest in Hevn.
* Subverted (kind of) in the Manga/FullmetalAlchemist fanfiction [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7986051/1/The_Seven_Names_of_Envy_Angevin The Seven Names of Envy Angevin]]; the main four characters (Envy, Ed, Ling, Russell) all like boys and so does Envy's older brother Greed, but Greed, Ling AND Envy are actually bisexual (Greed has lots of girlfriends, Envy's relationship with the now-dead Martel is a key plot point, and Ling is a classic case of AnythingThatMoves), Al and Wrath are quite deliberately straight (Wrath's crossdressing aside - MakesSenseInContext) and Envy figuring out he likes boys is a Big Deal for him.

This is helped by the fact that the show has numerous canon gay and bisexual characters[[hottip:*:Kurt, Blaine, Santana, Brittany, Karofsky, Sebastian and Sandy]], yet in fanfic even the canon straight characters are often shipped in same-sex pairings. For example, one of the most popular couples in the fandom is Rachel/Quinn, both of whom have only shown interest in boys on the show. By contrast, the gay characters are rarely shipped with opposite-sex characters once their sexuality is established on-screen, especially those who've had {{Anvilicious}} [[ComingOutStory Coming-Out Storylines]] like Kurt and Santana.

* ''Franchise/KingdomHearts''. In the fandom's eyes, there are practically no women or Disney characters, just Sora, Riku, Terra, Ven, Vanitas, 12 of Organization XIII, Cloud Leon and Sephiroth. If they're recognized, the girls are often shoehorned into being with each other anyway.
