** If you ever spot a group of ''Halo'' {{cosplay}}ers at a con, odds are at least a good third of those PoweredArmor-clad Spartans [[SamusIsAGirl will be female]].

* ''DGrayMan'' is technically shonen, but with the sheer quantity of {{bishonen}} and MrFanservice like Allen, Kanda, Tyki, and Lavi, it's no wonder that the vast majority of its readers and fans are female. But then, it ''is'' written by a woman, so maybe it's just AuthorAppeal lining up with the wishes of the fangirl masses.

* ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'' is interesting in that it has a huge Estrogen Brigade following, but that's more or less its only following. The show is a convoluted mess used to display [[CastFullOfPrettyBoys so many pretty boys]] to [[InvokedTrope invoke this trope]]. The franchise is still up and running yet not nearly enough as it was. Still, the Estrogen Brigade of this fandom eclipses the male fans, to the point despite being originally a shonen manga, it has OtomeGame derivatives. Perhaps to date, this is the only manga that is officially shonen but have OtomeGame derivatives, but who knows. With the BishonenJumpSyndrome and {{Fanservice}} for girls greatly rises, there will be another fandom with huge EstrogenBrigade leading to such development. While were on the subject, most, if not all sports anime like ''Manga/KurokonoBasuke'', ''Manga/Haikyuu!!'' and ''Manga/YowamushiPedal'' are simply Estrogen Brigade followings which are pretty much their only followings.

* The ''Manga/AxisPowersHetalia'' fandom is basically one huge Estrogen Brigade, so much that it's mistaken for being part of the BoysLoveGenre, made by a woman and entirely for girls. It's actually written by a man and gets serialized in a {{seinen}} magazine.

* ''{{Anime/Free}}'' is an odd case. Although it was ''definitely'' aimed at women--lots of ShipTease between sexy boys in swimsuits--it was also made by KyotoAnimation, a studio mainly known for its {{moe}} shows aimed at men, like ''Manga/KOn''. Many male fans were aghast at the idea of "their" studio making fujoshi bait, but others actually liked the show, forming a sort of [[InvertedTrope circular inversion.]]

* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' has a significant amount of female fans due to its [[RuleOfSymbolism complex]] [[MindScrew plot]] and [[DarkerAndEdgier darker themes]], as well as the [[PuniPlush cute]] character designs.

** The Perry twins from [[WesternAnimation/MonstersUniversity the prequel]] also have plenty of fangirls themselves.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Cars}}'' seems to have a particularly large female fanbase, with Lightning [=McQueen=], Doc Hudson, and Finn [=McMissle=] having the most fangirls.

* Pick a male from ''Film/TheDarkKnightSaga''. ''Any'' male from ''Film/TheDarkKnightSaga''. They will have fangirls. [[DracoInLeatherPants Especially the Joker]].

** The "mud wrestling" fight in ''Film/{{Thor}}'' does a lot for the ladies in the audience...
** ... although not as much as Chris Hemsworth's ShirtlessScene.
** Thor has fans, but Loki's (and by extension, Tom Hiddleston's) Estrogen Brigade is incredibly vocal and devoted. They call themselves "Hiddlestoners." You can read a ([[ClusterFBomb very profane]]) AffectionateParody of their behavior [[http://gofuckyourselftomhiddleston.tumblr.com/ here]]. Tom Hiddleston's fanbase just ''exploded'' into existence after Thor, even though the film mostly [[ShirtlessScene presented]] Chris Hemsworth as the default [[FemaleGaze hunk totty]]. However, thanks to Loki's characterisation and his PrettyBoy looks (and Hiddleston's MeanCharacterNiceActor personality), Hiddleston became the EnsembleDarkHorse at least where the ladies were concerned, to the point where it took Marvel and the rest of the world by surprise. At the NYC [=ComicCon=] 2011, with plenty of stars and producers from the Avengers attending a panel, 99% of the audience questions were directed at Hiddleston, with audible gushing from the lady fans. And with plenty of awkwardness for the hosts and the rest of the panel members. It's notable because the hosts and the co-stars were clearly not expecting it, and even Hiddleston himself seems to have been overwhelmed by it. See it yourself, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr-IqGfqGps here]].

* ''Literature/HarryPotter''. Have you ''seen'' the [[YaoiFangirl fangirl hordes?]] Mere death is no [[ShipSinking obstacle]] to [[SlashFic Remus/Sirius]]. Then there's Draco Malfoy, the TropeNamer for DracoInLeatherPants (mainly upon the release of the [[Film/HarryPotterAndTheHalfBloodPrince sixth]] movie) and of course Severus Snape, at least after [[Film/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows the seventh book]]. And let's not forget the Weasley twins, Ron (sometimes), and Harry himself. Hell, no male character is safe from this.

* While perhaps falling short of this trope, Creator/TerryPratchett says in ''The Art of Literature/{{Discworld}}'' that Greebo (yep, ''that'' Greebo) garnered a lot of female fans after his first appearance in human form. He also says of Vetinari "I hear he has his own, all-female, fan club." (The "Sisters of Vetinari").

** They sure didn't look too bad in their [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNNR8UX7oKk music video]] for their song "Mein Land." The {{Series/Baywatch}} part specifically.

** Speaking of Hitler, how about the Boston Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev? For weeks there was an Brigade screaming that he was too cute to be a terrorist.
