* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'': An interesting variant occurs with [[spoiler:Homura]]. When she breaks down crying in Episode 8 after [[spoiler:shooting Kyubey full of holes with a Beretta 92-FS to prevent Madoka from contracting]], it's adorable, sad and [[OutOfCharacterMoment REALLY STRANGE]] since up until now she's been the EmotionlessGirl. Then comes Episode 10, and [[BreakTheCutie suddenly it all]] [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness makes sense]].

Added DiffLines:

* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Cars}}'', Lightning [=McQueen=] experiences this just before he departs for California, not to mention this is the first time he actually broke down as a result of his CharacterDevelopment taking effect due to staying in Radiator Springs and befriending the locals. He immediately wanted to leave upon getting stuck there, but after spending so much time, he's upset and is reluctant to go. You can actually see the tears at the bottom of his windshield during this scene.
** Lightning does this again in the sequel as he reads Mater's farewell note and feels bad for lashing out at him for making him lose the Tokyo race of the World Grand Prix. Ditto for Fillmore, Sarge, Luigi and Guido, the last two being the saddest (and cutest) ever during that scene.

* [[spoiler:Victorine]]'s weeping makes her even more beautiful in ''DarkTales: The Premature Burial'', but she's nothing even remotely approaching a Tsundere. Not to mention her tears are pretty justified, seeing as [[spoiler:her husband sealed her alive inside a tomb]].
* In ''GrimGrimoire'' Margarita Surprise eventually winds up on the wrong side of Opalneria, who, being an expert necromancer, has some [[CoolAndUnusualPunishment pretty nightmarish punishments for misbehaving students.]] Margarita, who - up until that point in the game - had been shown as a fairly strong character, is reduced to a terrified, blubbering wreck and it's hard not to feel sorry for her.

* ''WebAnimation/TheMostPopularGirlsInSchool'':
** [[HairTriggerTemper Brittnay Matthews]] tears up at Amberlynn's speech in Episode 13.
** [[AlphaBitch Mackenzie Zales]] is moved to tears by Trisha's heartwarming speech to her in Episode 62.

* Ren of ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow'' used to have these moments fairly often. Although it was not Creator/JohnKricfalusi's attempt to make the character more sympathetic, but rather a case of ExecutiveMeddling. They requested for a softer side to Ren, which John K criticized from the beginning (in the ''Adult Party Cartoon'' episodes, unsupervised by Nickelodeon, he changed Ren's personality into a {{Jerkass}} with no redeeming qualities.

** All three of the girls in "Little Miss Interprets" when they think the Professor wants to replace them with new girls.

* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' has the episode "Dipper Vs Manliness" when Dipper is rushing out of Lazy Susan's diner after having a crisis about his own masculinity, and bumps into a woman asking if he's seen the Mail Man.
--> '''Dipper''': What, you dont think ''I'M'' a Male Man?!
--> '''Woman''': Are you ''crying?!''
--> '''Dipper''': *eyes are gushing with tears and he sniffs piteously*
* Much like her live-action counterpart, the animated WesternAnimation/PunkyBrewster is adorable when she cries. Most notably in the debut episode "Punky To The Rescue," where she blames herself for Henry getting lost in a swamp and a presumed swamp monster will get him.

* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'' has an example, after Rena [[TheReveal reveals]] Keiichi's DarkAndTroubledPast. Luckily for his fandom, Rena does this [in such a brutal manner that Keiichi breaks down almost instantly into TearsOfRemorse. Rena's [[KickTheDog refusal to forgive him]] leaves him just crying on the ground pitifully, which is even more sympathetic. [[spoiler:Rena gets her own instance of this at the end of the chapter, although Keiichi's reaction is quite different.]]
