We thought the mid-1980s would mark the end of Cannibal Films, we were mistaken. In the year 2003, deep within the Philippines, An Italian exploitation film director named Bruno Mattei shot two back to back cannibal films: Land of Death/ Cannibal Ferox 3 and Cannibal World/ Cannibal Holocaust 2. Heavily inspired by Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, Plus Every other Cannibal Film, including Guinea Pig: The Flower of Flesh & Blood, He was able to bring whole new level of extreme, psychotic, tribal, plus aboriginal pain & suffering right onto HD/DVD Television. Even the torments are so gruesome and warped, Land of Death/ Cannibal Ferox 3 shows a savage, ritualistic punishment for adultery where a tribesman hauls his bound wife to a riverbed where he sexually violates her with a stone phallic dildo and cuts her heart out with it, there’s even a Chieftain who cuts out the heart of a tribesman’s corpse and eats it. Also in Cannibal World/ Cannibal Holocaust 2, a pregnant tribeswoman’s stomach is torn open by other tribeswoman; another naked tribeswoman is being decapitated into gory/bloody pieces. There’s even one crew member being speared & castrated in full view of the tribes’ folk. Plus there’s the film crew woman who is raped before being torn apart by tribesmen. The excessive blood guts and gore is so demonic & out of bounds of anything any westerner can stand for.
