* In the Garth Ennis SuperHero satire ThePro, the main character is a bitter, cynical hooker with a baby who is given powers and inducted into a JLA-like organization to [[TheyFightCrime fight crime]]. In a case at the UN, she is shot by a supervillian with a laser in the gut. [[BerzerkButton Bad idea]]. BreastAttack is the DistaffCounterpart to GroinAttack, since receiving blunt trauma to the breasts is extremely painful for women, though probably not as painful as GroinAttack is for men, OrSoIHeard. The nipples are also rather sensitive, but this is true for men as well.

She want to be a man again, and the local pristhood think they can help her. But she ''hates'' the local priesthood. So the sidekick Penelope have her tied to the altar against her will, for her own good, and the priests try their ritual. It fails. Afterwards, she explains to Tiffany that she had counted on Tiffany being a man now, so his code of honor would prevent him from hurting her... And the last panel is just one big "OW". The next page is all about Penelope being shocked that Tiffany "punched her in the boob".

A BreastAttack is sometimes intended to show that the (male) attacker is [[TryingToCatchMeFightingDirty playing dirty]] (and [[MenAreTheExpendableGender against a woman too]], [[DoubleStandard how low!]]). You're supposed to wince at this one, but this trope is occasionally played for comedy. If the victim is already a ButtMonkey, it's okay to laugh. Or if it's [[CatFight a woman doing it to another woman]]. Or [[MenAreTheExpendableGender a man]] [[ComedicSociopathy getting a purple nurple]].

In reality, a GroinAttack is much more dangerous (and painful) for women than a BreastAttack. However in a fight breasts are a much easier target, which is why the BreastAttack is much more common than a female GroinAttack.

* This troper once read a report on the infamous rape case of Filipina actress Maggie dela Riva. According an interview of the actress, during her ordeal, she was incapacited by her captors by means of punching her in several areas of her body, including one of her breasts, before they proceeded to rape her.
** Interestingly, during the filming of the movie ''The Maggie dela Riva Story'' which was based on the incident, actress Dawn Zulueta who played dela Riva reported that when that grisly scene was recreated, it actually led to real injuries and she actually had to be hospitalized.
