* At one point in the ''Franchise/{{Bionicle}}'' comics and books, Jaller sets Mantax [[ManOnFire ablaze]] ''[[WaterIsAir on the ocean floor]]''. ElementalRockPaperScissors is important in the series so its {{Hand Wave}}d with the [[AWizardDidIt Wizard Did It]] rule; he has power over fire, and if he wants fire underwater, ''he can do that'' (not easily, but still...). Further [[JustifiedTrope justified]] by Greg on an online Q&A when he pointed out that it's [[RealityIsUnrealistic possible to have fire underwater.]] It just takes either certain chemicals or a lot of energy.

This trope is about events, not the characters involved in them. Do not confuse with RuleOfCool (where the WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief is stretched because the example is cool), CrazyAwesome (which is characters that are effective because [[CrazyEnoughToWork they may be the only ones crazy enough to try]]), nor {{badass}}, which has a multitude of meanings.

This could be done by the CrazyAwesome, who ignores the rules, or the IdiotHero, who doesn't know them. Thus, going beyond the impossible can be AchievementsInIgnorance. Just as easily, it could be a calculated endeavor by AwesomeByAnalysis trying to break the rules. [[Administrivia/TropesAreFlexible These are just examples, there could be others.]]
