** The Autobots weren't so bad neither. Fighting in a four million years war will make you into a crew of hardasses, and unlike the Decepticons, the Autobots were aware of the importence of diplomacy and alliances. Thats why NEST is probably the most badass army through the universe.

* The Imperial stormtroopers are supposed to be this.

* The Soul Society of ''{{Bleach}},'' These people have a commander who can stop people by simply '''glaring at them'''. While just about all of the Squad Captains are badasses, not every Soul Reaper qualifies. That is, except for the eleventh division, which is led by a Grade-A badass who defeats Bankai users and Espada despite not knowing bankai himself. Said Grade-A badass flat out says upon taking over the division through KlingonPromotion that the only requirements for being a member are loving to fight and being good at it. This is an army so badass that monsters run away in fear from their head ''medic''.
** Bankai? Kenpachi doesn't know the f***ing NAME of his sword. Ichigo learned his sword's name by the end of the first arc (prior to leaving on the Rescue Rukia arc) and he hadn't even HEARD of Soul Society until episode 1. Learning the name is called Shikai. Remember, Kenpachi can't do this. Instead, Kenpachi has a leech-mouthed EYEPATCH gnawing away at his spirit power as a power limiter. Yes, he puts the sharp-toothed monstrosity over his EYE. Presumably because he was too awesome for it to work anywhere else.
*** The man puts out the power of a Bankai when he swings his sword WITH BOTH HANDS. Enough said.

* Both sides of TheTrojanWar as portrayed by {{Homer}} were a BadAssArmy.

* And who can forget the Soul Society of ''{{Bleach}}''? These people have a commander who can stop people by simply '''glaring at them'''. * ''{{Mai-Otome}}'' has the Aswad. A handful of them decide to take revenge on the kingdom of Cardair after said kingdom reneged on an agreement. Cardair feature a host of Otome, the ultimate weapon in Mai-Otome-verse. Result? Cardair in ruins. Dead top Otome. Dead king. One dead and one injured Aswad.
** Hardly top Otome mid grade at best and the Aswad who attack Cardair were powerful elites. In the second OVA a whole bunch of them get taken out by one Otome who wore a valuable GEM not a semi-precious GEM.
*** The Otome themselves are also a Badass Army but since they can't replicate their LostTechnology everything is dependent on hand-me-downs of varying strength. Coral and Pearls are quite weak but semi precious stones are stronger to varying degrees. Crystal and Amethyst being stronger than Obsidian then again they were wielded by badass Otome anyway. Anyone who wears the Diamond, Sapphire or Ruby is considered a PersonOfMassDestruction.

*** Oh, they're not that weak. [[TankGoodness They've got the tanks.]]

*** The Otome themselves are also a Badass Army.

** The [[AmazonBrigade asari]] or the [[StateSec salarians]]. Sure, their armies are much, ''much'' smaller, but they're no less BadAss. Consider the fact, for instance, that each asari soldier is a [[SuperSoldier highly trained psychic commando]] and that the salarians are reputably the most badass spies in existence. This because in order to become a major race in the Mass Effect universe, you have to demonstrate your bad-ass army qualities on a large scale.

* '[[TransformersFilmSeries Transformers]]'':

* The ''[[TransformersFilmSeries Transformers]]'' movies are very big on portraying the US military this way. Some Transformers fans disliked the fact that this is the only continuity in which Decepticons routinely get trounced by PunyHumans, and RogerEbert noted that he can't remember another movie in which advanced aliens were successfully repelled by humans with bullets. It also manages to portray the US Special Forces as pretty much the President's Death Commandos: "Simmons? I'd do what he says. Losing's really not an option for these guys." Bullets had actually proved ineffective against the Deceptions at the Qatar base, even a .50-caliber machine gun; it took heavier weapons.
** It should be noted in this case that the humans are armed with specialised weapons for taking down Decepticons, take full advantage of size, numbers and cover, and pretty much always act mostly as support to the Autobots- they almost certainly wouldn't stand a chance against the Decepticons alone, but they give the Autobots much needed support and a home-turf advantage.

*** Director Peter Jackson conceived very carefully the scene of the Mirkwood Elven army in Helm's Deep. After the long exposure of the Rohirrim defenders [[RagtagBunchOfMisfits practically scrounged from whomever had two legs and at least one arm to hold a sword]], of their fear, hopelessness and poor state, the appearance of the Elves, marching through the gate like robots, was sure to make the difference even to the most thick viewer.

This is where the BadassCrew is taken the next logical step and turned into an entire army. The badass army is made of 100% badasses and there is absolutely nothing that can stop them short of overwhelming numbers or an even better Badass Army. There is not a single soldier who can not hold his own in a fight. They are extremely likely to be all, or mostly, {{super soldier}}s and have a high likelihood to have been raised in TheSpartanWay and are very likely to be the BigDamnHeroes.
