* Just days after the series finale aired, The Science Channel announces that they're rebooting Series/{{Mythbusters}}, starting with a reality TV style season in search of getting a new team together. Many assumed it's an April Fools joke given the day the news was published. As it turns out, nope, it's real.

* When ''Magazine/ElectronicGamingMonthly'', well known for it's April Fools' Day hoaxes (see above), announced that Creator/{{Rare}}'s kid-friendly platform game ''Twelve Tales: Coker 64'' was being reworked into an adult-oriented game with plenty of swearing, innuendos, cartoon violence, and ToiletHumor, most people thought it was a joke. [[VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay It wasn't.]]

* Creator/TellTaleGames [[http://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/telltale-games-announces-new-five-nights-at-freddys-series/ recently announced]] their next episodic game: a VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys adaptation. Yeah, it sounds plausible, but what tipped people off that it was a hoax? [[spoiler:Creator/ScottCawthon wasn't involved in the dev process.]]

* ''Website/HardcoreGaming101'' added ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' to its almost-weekly column dedicated to ''kusoge'' (crappy games) on April 1st, 2015. It was an article telling the readers how much it sucked and wondering how could it ever become a success. Despite being clearly a joke, having several imprecisions and being written in a different way from the usual detailed and formal manner, several readers were angered. The article is still up, but clearly labeled as an April Fool's joke.

** Creator/AdultSwim did many things in different years, including doing the "add a fart track to all shows" that was later done on daytime Creator/CartoonNetwork, all the funnier because that was on Saturday Night that year, so they fart-tracked such series as ''Anime/GhostInTheShellStandaloneComplex''. One year, another Saturday, they replaced the anime lineup with ''PerfectHairForever''. In the year in which ''AquaTeenHungerForceColonMovieFilmForTheaters'' premiered, before the premier of the movie in theaters, they aired the entire movie on April 1st, but in a tiny block in the lower-right corner of the screen, without sound. One year, they dug up reruns of ''WesternAnimation/ChuckNorrisKarateKommandos''.
** In 2014, Adult Swim aired a new episode of PerfectHairForever alongside a ''WesternAnimation/SpaceGhostCoastToCoast'' marathon (one that included the uncut version of "Fire Ant", among other things.)

** For those who don't follow DC, Johns has done "Rebirth" stories for Comicbook/GreenLantern (Hal Jordan) and Comicbook/TheFlash (Barry Allen). Vibe, a [[TotallyRadical painfully-eighties]] inner-city kid with the meta-human ability to produce sonic waves, often through breaking dance, was a, uh, "less prominent character".

Including TYPE-MOON's official website, which had fake news plaster all over it, with one headline dramatically announcing that [[TrollingCreator Nasu was too busy playing]] ''VideoGame/DarkSoulsIII'' [[TrollingCreator to give a shit about anything]].

** 2009: moon.cinemas.jp, a site imitating a typical movie theater chain front page, where all the movies were parodies of well known films (up to including a parody of ''[[Franchise/TrainMan Densha Otoko]]'' starring [[Literature/FateZero Weaver Velvet and Fate/Zero!Rider]] that was revived as the April Fools joke for ufotable in 2012). HilariousInHindsight because one of the "movies" announced, one based in the (then book only) epilogue for the movie series of ''LightNovel/KaraNoKyoukai'', was eventually done and released for real.

* In 2014 and 2015, ''Wiki/SuperMarioWiki'' featured strange, but true facts about the Mario universe out of context. One example from 2015 was a line from [[MemeticMutation the infamous Navgtr review of]] ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry'': "Donkey Kong Country is truly perfect. If you're a true video game fan, you will not hesitate in the slightest bit to buy this piece of gaming history."
