* [[SuperMarioBros Mario]] has started doing this a lot more prominently recently. In New Super Mario Bros. at full speed he does it, regardless of if he has a Starman or not. In Galaxy, he only does this while he has the Rainbow Star... although you could say Super Mario World and Super Mario Brothers 3 too since Mario sticks his arms out at full speed as if he is about to take flight.

** Also, when he first appears in ''Galaxy'', Mario is seen running towards the Star Festival with his arms out, just because he's such a happy-go-lucky guy.
