* ''Agents Of Edgewatch'': [[ImmoralJournalist Reginald Vancaskerkin]], publically the [[VillainWithGoodPublicity beloved]] director of Absalom's most popular tabloid, is in truth the founding member of the Twilight Four, a Norgorber-worshipping group aiming to bring the great city under their control. Rising from [[FromNobodyToNightmare humble origins]] and from slavery to a cruel kraken, Reginald was able to trick his master and feign submissiveness to him, only to later turn the tables on the mighty beast and take him prisoner, winning himself his own freedom. After founding the Twilight Four, Reginald lets his accomplice Olansa in charge in order to concentrate on his long-term projects and let her take the fall in case of emergency. Meanwhile, Reginald subtly undermines her and the other members of the cabal so that he will be in the perfect position to [[ShadowDictator rule Absalom from the shadows]]. When the player characters have defeated two of his co-conspirators, Reginald skillfully [[FrameUp frames them]] and [[BigGood Primarch Wynsal Starborn]] for crimes they didn't commit, even implanting FakeMemories in several key witnesses to make his accusations more solid. Even as the player characters manage to escape and confront him, Reginald is unafraid to face them directly, making use of his [[HollywoodCyborg clockwork-enhanced body]] and ResurrectiveImmortality to give them one of the toughest fights in the story.

** [[TheFundamentalist Elesh Norn]] has so far proven to be the most successful Praetor of New Phyrexia. Coordinating her siblings' actions in the name of unity during the Mirran war, she ensured the victory of their faction and the capture of an angel leading the resistance. [[VillainRespect To celebrate the angel's loyalty and tenacity]], Norn asked the other Praetors to collaborate (with only Urabrask refusing) in the compleation of the angel into [[MouthOfSauron Atraxa, a powerful steward of Phyrexian ideals]]. Despite failing to corrupt Karn into becoming the new Father of the Machines, she managed to defeat her rivals Sheoldred and Urabrask by exploiting their factions' lack of organization, while maintaining a sincere VillainousFriendship with Jin-Gitaxias and playing Vorinclex like a fiddle, sending him to Kaldheim to retrieve a sample of tyrite. [[WellIntentionedExtremist Truly believing that her philosophy can bring peace and unity to the Multiverse]], Elesh Norn intends to use her position as ''de facto'' Mother of the Machines and the newfound access to planar travel to "bring Phyrexia's magnificence" to other worlds.

** [[EvilGenius Jin-Gitaxias]] is the adaptive and calculating leader of the Progress Engine. During the Mirran-Phyrexian war, he oversaw the contamination of Quicksilver Sea with glistening oil, using the vedalkens' natural curiosity to have them exposed to the substance and accelerate the infection. [[TheRedMage Delving into other sources of mana to expand his philosophy of the Great Synthesis]], Jin-Gitaxias uses the Silver Etchings as well as Sheoldred's visions, takes part to the compleation of Atraxa and has the elf leader Ezuri turned into the Claw of Progress. His position strengthened after Norn's rise to power, he travels to Kamigawa with Tezzeret, [[PragmaticVillainy showing none of the latter's sadism]] while experimenting on kamis. Despite suffering a heavy wound from the Wanderer, he successfully returns to New Phyrexia with Tamiyo, [[AffablyEvil welcoming her as the first compleated planeswalker]] and [[VisionaryVillain assuring she won't be the last]].

* [[GeniusBruiser Gorbad Ironclaw]] is a brilliant [[Characters/WarhammerGreenskins Orc]] Warboss who stood out among his typically brutish people. First taking power by [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority defeating his enemies]] in battle, he amassed a power base of countless Orcs, even using clever tactics such as assassination. Then, after handily defeating most of the Dwarfs, Gorbad used his power to wage war on the Empire. Combining his people's might with cunning and intelligence, Gorbad outplayed and defeated most Imperial forces that opposed him, even building a makeshift bridge from debris to sack the city of Nuln. Despite being [[WoundThatWillNotHeal permanently wounded]] by opposing general Count Adolphus as he destroyed the province of Solland, Gorbad defeated Adolphus and pressed on to the Imperial capital. Despite losing many troops due to initial overconfidence and the wound, Gorbad recovered and unleashed wyverns upon the city which [[HeroKiller slew the Emperor]], and was stopped only inches from victory. Even when without most of his army and cornered by the vengeful Dwarfs on his way back to his clan, Gorbad fought valiantly and became a legend to the Greenskin people.
