M Ikhal Oglu is implied to be Turkish. The first henchman sent out by the Vizier is "Yaruk Khan, a Crim Tatar", who however returns empty-handed. Yaruk Khan also speaks with an accent which Oglu does not. Howard also spells it "Tatar", not "Tartar".
